Our Administrator is a committed and empathetic leader in all ways, who is always ready to listen to our concerns and suggestions. I have always felt our Administrator and staff to be consistently friendly and open to any requests that I and my wife, who also lives here happily, have brought to their attention. I am a columnist for a major American newspaper and have always found the Administrator and staff members ready to encourage me in my writing. My wife is an accomplished artist and they warmly champion her work too. We are happy to see how they treat us as a married couple--we are almost certainly the only married couple to live in a nursing home in Pennsylvania-- and respect our desire to be together. It would truly be difficult to find a more wise or caring health care staff, nurses or aides, anywhere. The Activities Department workers motivate us with everything from our weekly Spanish club to truly regal holiday festivals. The dieticians take personal care of our needs and any special diets prescribed for us by our empathetic physicians. Our kitchen personnel are driven by a commitment to prepare for us the best meals possible--and always greet us with a friendly smile and hello! Our Physical Therapy professionals treat us as their dear friends and not as robots. The social services workers here handle our problems with compassion and skill. When we have had previous issues with our personal care, our rooms or laundry, pest control, or even any issues with the other patients, they have responded in a thoroughly professional and helpful way. The rooms here are thoroughly cleaned daily by our housekeeping personnel and the laundry department assures an adequate supply of linen each morning for the day. My wife and I feel blessed to reside in such a compassionate and forward-thinking nursing home.

ZERO stars for Pineview Rehab. My uncle with dementia recently stayed there and was STARVED to…read moredeath, literally. He was left a tray of food, no assistance( which he required to eat). Clearly not bathed. Clothes in a ball on his wheelchair. Only out of bed when family were there. Denied to have food or coffee( stone cold) to be heated. Zero answers to call bells. I witnessed my Uncle push the call bell to be taken to bathroom to poop, I finally went to the nurses' station to which I was told that he will just poop his pants. I took him myself...and he went. Dentures were STUCK in his mouth everytime I went there...never cleaned( No denture tabs ever used except by me). He died 9 days after spending 2 weeks there. SHAME on this place. Our elderly population need and deserve better( particularly the demented). I tried to have him moved..was told it would be against med advice and medicare would not pay. Disgusted and saddened. Zero response when higher ups were called. LOOK ELSEWHERE

Do not take your loved one there…read more Our loved one was placed into this facility because of dementia, a persistent UTI and a Kennedy bedsore. The staff dId not pick up after themselves in the patient's room so it was always dirty. At 14K a month our loved one got the opposite of what was needed. With the dementia our loved one's hands got shaky and it was hard to get the food to the mouth. But the staff just plopped the tray down and left and the staff did not make sure our loved on had enough to drink, even water. Then when the dementia progressed and our loved one no longer wanted to eat, the staff were told to wake our loved one up to force feed our loved one which caused aspiration pneumonia. Our loved one got more bed sores on the heels and neck. Although Pineview advertises "comfort care," even worse, our loved one suffered in writhing pain, because not enough pain medication was given there, as an evaluation at the Hospital had recommended.. As family members, when we pointed out our concerns in care, we were gas lighted and told that our loved one was fine even though we could see with our own eyes that the opposite was true. Blessedly our loved one had to go back to the hospital and was placed on hospice there where our loved one passed in peace and dignity.
