I booked to stay in a 2 bedroom. When I called to confirm the month before, they advised me that I was actually in the new 1 bedroom (that was not available when I booked) The day I was leaving they called to advise there was a "plumbing issue" and I would be staying in even a smaller room. I did not complain one time. Friday afternoon someone had gone to the front office to ask which cabin I was staying in and they told this person which cabin I was in. Friday night when my husband was alone as he did not feel good, during this time someone showed up at the door to advise there was also a plumbing issue in this cabin and we have to get out ASAP. When he asked where we being moved, he advised that the person who rented would get an email, which I never did. I got back to my cabin and my husband and my dog are gone. I finally get him back to the cabin to advise I never got an email. Saturday morning while getting ready for the rodeo in Truro, the cleaning team advised we had to leave as they had someone else booked in for the night, we had an hour to leave and find a hotel to stay in last minute. When I emailed to advise of how disappointed I was, they offered nothing barely even an apology. I have emailed them numerous times to get my deposits back for the stay i canceled in 2026 and they still have not reached out to me. Place has gone downhill and is no longer a safe and peaceful environment. I have filed a claim with small claims court with them.

I was volunteering all weekend at Nova Scotia Music Week and just needed a place to sleep. I was travelling with my daughter in one room and my son and his friend in another. Unfortunately at the last minute I was unable to go and my husband agreed to take my place for the first night. Despite the fact that I had stated CLEARLY that I wanted the $59 rooms, they were all put in the more expensive rooms. I am trying to figure out the logic behind what we were charged and the man will not talk to me. He asked why I paid for the higher price room and I said that my husband was unaware of the price I booked. He kept emphasizing that I should have known that I had a renovated room. I did not, it had exposed electrical outlets that were ripped off with wires hanging, the room was freezing, and the cleaners didn't even clean on Sunday. I feel completely ripped off. Just went over the weekend and what an experience! I don't like to half ass things, so I went head first and booked on a day that had 'extreme' waves (there are 3 levels of waves - low, medium and extreme). The place has chalets that you can stay in and tidal bore rafting. They get everyone to put on life jackets, head down to where the motorized boats are and each boat holds about 8 people. They take you out to an area which is just like a small sand island and you wait for the tide to come in, when the tide comes in, hold on tight as the boat will be going through the waves one after another after another after another! When I went the waves were about 6 feet high and people fell out a few times. Not to worry though, it's not so dangerous that you get hurt or anything like that. Plus the water isn't that deep. You'd just fall out, everyone laughs then you get back in the boat and hit the waves again! It's so much fun. At the end of it, you can opt to go mud sliding too - I didn't, but it looked like people were having a ton of fun doing it. Definitely something you won't forget!
