Comfort Inn - Welcome to the Comfort Inn - Truro!

Danger Will Robinson…read more While The comfort inn is conveniently located just off the highway, surrounded by restaurants, and a mall across the road, my one and only stay at this hotel was not a great experience. The rooms are clean but to be honest sub par to what I was expecting, even for a Comfort Inn. The place is hub central for all your truckers and transportation/freight crews. Perhaps 'nuff said on the audience They cater to. The woman at the front desk was rather short and I don't mean in stature. I later found out she totally shafted me in rate as a walk-in guest compared to the standard rate. Nice. Being new to the area and requiring hotel lodging for two months, if the building quality wasn't enough to direct me to other hotels, the overcharging was. Still, if all you need is a bed with clean linen then fill your boots at the comfort inn. Just make sure they charge you a reasonable rate.

We needed to use the restroom and stopped in the Comfort Inn and asked if we could. The front desk staff said yes with a smile. They then gave us information about the bores, and I got to pet Izzy who is about the friendliest pup you can imagine. The kind of friendliness that the staff gave us will get my business next time I'm in town. I hope Izzy is working the front desk that day too!

Stonehouse Motel & Restaurant - What we seen when we pulled the sheets off

Stayed the night as we were travelling around Nova Scotia. The price was about what we expected for…read morethe area. It seemed like there were a number of highway workers staying there, which is not really a problem, but it gives you an idea of what the place is like. The rooms were what you would expect out of a motel, and we were able to pull right up to the door without any issues. There are no breakfast provisions, so you will have to fend for yourself in the morning. As we were checking in I walked through the restaurant side of things, just to see if it would be worth eating there. We passed, because even though there were people eating there (it is a Thai restaurant) I couldn't smell any of the food... there was just nothing there! If you need ice, just go up to the front desk and they will fill your bucket with ice from the restaurant. There are a good number of restaurants just a short drive away, as well as a bunch of fast food type places along Route 2 heading out to the 102. We actually drove around the downtown area for a good 45 minutes looking for a place that would satisfy us, only to go to the first pizza place that we saw as we were entering town and bringing it back to the motel with us (the pizza was amazing... Sam's Pizza just down the street... well worth it!) Room Amenities: - Cable/Satellite Television - Free Wi-Fi

Good Afternoon: I…read morestayed at this Motel last night (June 26th) for just the night. I was put in room 7. Upon pulling up to my door there were several people loitering and smoking and drinking cans of beer. When I opened the door into the room, the first thing I noticed was an obvious overpowering smell of fragrance or room spray to cover over the smell of cigarette smoke and other un-definable smells. The screen in the window was torn, The air conditioner when you turned it on smelled of mold. And I had to find out where to plug it in before I was able to turn it on. The bathroom was disgusting. The towels looked like there was blood , and some sort of Dark brown stains in the towels. The hand towel was the cleanest and that was what I was forced to dry myself of with after showering. The floor of the bathroom was Ceramic tile I believe. The tiles were all shattered and when you stepped on them , they moved underneath your feet. I was afraid I was going to cut my feet. So needless to say , I didn't take my shoes off until I absolutely had to. The floors were sticky and dirty, There was rust all over the outlet that you plugged the air conditioner into. There was holes in the adjoining door that made me wary. There were no other rooms available in the town. So I didn't have a choice but to stay there last night. There was no one there to talk to about these issues. I was given a phone number in the event that there was an emergency. But there was nobody physically there that I could speak with. Due to the state of the dirtiness of the room , I was worried that there was going to be bedbugs , so I did a thorough investigation of the bed and mattress. The sheets appeared to be clean , but I did find a couple of hairs on the pillows that in no way were mine. I went to get a kleenex from the kleenex box and discovered that the box was stuck to the table. I couldn't even pry it off , or I'd have ripped the entire box of kleenex apart. I was up and gone by seven am because I couldn't stand being in that room any longer. The fridge and the microwave were gross. I truly believe , it's a health and safety hazard.
