I used to love staying at Irwin lake, stayed there 5 times in the last year alone. Brought many people to stay. The last time with new owners was not only terrible but terrifying. I booked to stay in a 2 bedroom. When I called to confirm the month before, they advised me that I was actually in the new 1 bedroom (that was not available when I booked) The day I was leaving they called to advise there was a "plumbing issue" and I would be staying in even a smaller room. I did not complain one time. Friday afternoon someone had gone to the front office to ask which cabin I was staying in and they told this person which cabin I was in. Friday night when my husband was alone as he did not feel good, during this time someone showed up at the door to advise there was also a plumbing issue in this cabin and we have to get out ASAP. When he asked where we being moved, he advised that the person who rented would get an email, which I never did. I got back to my cabin and my husband and my dog are gone. I finally get him back to the cabin to advise I never got an email. Saturday morning while getting ready for the rodeo in Truro, the cleaning team advised we had to leave as they had someone else booked in for the night, we had an hour to leave and find a hotel to stay in last minute. When I emailed to advise of how disappointed I was, they offered nothing barely even an apology. I have emailed them numerous times to get my deposits back for the stay i canceled in 2026 and they still have not reached out to me. Place has gone downhill and is no longer a safe and peaceful environment. I have filed a claim with small claims court with them. read more
