This is probably one of my favorite campsites in all of Lake Mead Park. My favorite thing about this place is it's views! Depending on the site you get, there are some amazing views of the river of water going into Lake Mead, mountain sides, & beautiful cliffs. It is just awesome! They have nice, fully working restrooms. No showers. They have water spouts to get water. Each site has a picnic table & fire ring. No canopies or electricity hookups. If you live in Vegas, this is a quick getaway for a 1-2 night camping trip and well worth the trip every time. Reasonable priced and friendly camp hosts top it off as one of my go to spots for camping nearby the city.

Reservable campsites on cooler Mount Charleston were already taken, so we decided to go to explore Lake Mead. The campground was just minutes from Las Vegas and Henderson. The campground sites offered large sites with paved parking, picnic tables, fire pits, and close proximity to well-maintained and clean restrooms (flush toilets, sinks, running water. No showers). We were dry camping in a Class B RV -- so no hookups -- but the campground had plentiful water spigots and lots of sun to charge our solar panels. There was a mix of campers - from those tent camping to others in large RVs. What was particularly nice was that there was some vegetation -- trees which provided some shade and flowering desert bushes. Our site also had a lovely view of the lake, which was about a 20-minute walk from the campground. (We did not walk down to the beach but others reported that it's rocky). There's a Visitor's Center for the recreation area just a few miles down the street. We spoke with the knowledgable and friendly park rangers, watched a park film, picked up some literature, and bought a few souvenirs.

The sites are level and there is minimal but nice landscaping around some sites. There are no picnic tables which you often find at other RV parks. It appears many of the sites are occupied by men from out of town who live in campers during the week. Consequently we didn't see many people outside but we heard some noisy trucks at 6 am. I did find it annoying that in order to get a key to the pool area I would have to pay $5 for a key. Guess they have lost a lot of keys but I am not used to being asked to pay for the opportunity to use the park's amenities. Didn't pay it and didn't use their pool. Did have to pay an extra dollar a day for our dog which was ok. Wifi worked great, dog area was good and dumpsters were close by. We would stay here again if we were in the area again.

Before we came, I called and spoke with a lady on the phone. She was very nice and helpful. She told us to come by and ask for Faith, so we were hopeful. Unfortunately, that feeling changed the moment we walked in. The office was very gloomy and outdated. There was a woman sitting on the couch watching TV and a man in the back reading a newspaper. No one greeted us or even smiled. When the woman walked up to the counter, she was looking down at her phone the entire time. I was actually the one who said, "Hello," and let her know we were there to look at available sites and that we were told to ask for Faith. She simply nodded her head, so I assumed she was Faith. She never looked up at me, never acknowledged me, and never made eye contact. It wasn't until my husband started talking that she finally looked up at him. Even then, she still never acknowledged me. I thought it was strange, but I brushed it off. After highlighting the available sites, she slid the map across the counter to my husband and told him we could drive around and take a look. Again, she never once acknowledged me or spoke directly to me. At that point, I already had a feeling, but I didn't want to jump to conclusions. My husband and I looked at each other, but we decided to keep an open mind and still check out the park. Sadly, it didn't get any better. The park itself is very old and outdated. The sites are packed closely together, and it didn't appear that many rules were being enforced. There were old couches, piles of all kinds of junk sitting around several RVs. It just wasn't well kept. As we drove around, one gentleman gave us a friendly wave, which was nice. Then, as we were leaving, we passed another man standing next to a broken down truck just staring at himself. By the time we finished driving through we already knew this wasn't the place for us. I can't say for certain what was Faith issue but I do know how I was treated. I'm a Black woman, my husband is White, and throughout our entire interaction she acknowledged him but completely ignored me. She wouldn't make eye contact with me, never spoke directly to me, and even handed the map to my husband without ever acknowledging my presence. As a Black woman, it's hard not to notice when you're treated differently and unfortunately that's exactly how this experience felt. I'm sharing my experience so other people, especially people of color, are aware and can decide for themselves. Maybe someone else will have a different experience, and I truly hope they do. But this was mine. Whether it was racial bias or simply poor customer service, no one should walk into a business and feel invisible. For us, this wasn't the right place, and we won't be back.

Our experience was extremely disappointing. Management was incredibly rude and repeatedly hung up…read moreon us when we tried to resolve a simple issue. They kept our $60 deposit, still owe us change, and have refused to provide a receipt despite multiple requests. What should have been an easy conversation turned into an unnecessarily frustrating experience because they would not communicate professionally or help resolve the issue. The way we were treated was unacceptable. We can't say for certain why we were treated this way, but it left us feeling disrespected and questioning whether race played a role. Because of how this was handled, we are considering escalating the matter further. I would not recommend doing business here based on our experience.

What can I say. This may all be my fault for renting a boat in the hottest month of ever!! The…read moreinitial rental process was great. We found them online and chose our boat, time and date there. It was a smooth process to register and prepare for our parties arrival. While I did book a full day rental from 8am to 4pm, we did not show up until around 12pm (yes I called prior to 8am to notify them we were still coming). The young man who checked us in was amazing. He offered us a half day due to only using the boat for half the day. So right there we were winning lol. We walked down to the marina - and met with the guys to review safety and the boat. That did take some time as the boat wasn't ready. But it was okay. When we were finally ready to launch the boat it was amazing. However we did run into an engine issue and had to radio for help but they were quick and came to Assit and we finally made it to the sand bar and spent the rest of our time there. Would I book again ... YES! Would I book again in there middle of July when the devil himself has come on vacation...NOOOOO!! Only feedback I'd share is the walk from the parking lot to the boat is crazy.

first of all we were able to finally get a room and a cabin , it turns out we left the house early…read morefrom Riverside , CA , but we had some issues on the road and it became real late . we did not know the motel office closed for the night , when we tried calling to let them know we were running late they had already closed we were fearing that we would have to camp outside for the night and that we had lost our reservation. when we arrived the staff was so kind to leave the keys in an envelope with our names on it and room number , this was super excellent service for us . The resort has grills set up and tables and we were able to grill some burgers to have dinner that night. Next morning we went to get a boat rental we had and to reserve one more night if possible , we were taken care by Layne Newingham , the manager and gave us super excellent service , also gave us a number for after hours if we needed something. we went to the dock after we ate breakfast and started the process to retrieve the boat , they told us to be back by 4 or 4.30 pm the latest . Everything was great , until my daughter and her boyfriend decided they wanted to go for a ride on the boat , since we had stopped on a cove to have lunch. They left and time went by and they werent back , finally since there is hardly reception there , a message came on the phone that they were stranded , they finally got comunication with the dock and they came to look for them , long story short the boat had to be towed back and we were picked up from the cove by the dock staff. I want to give a big shout our to the staff starting by the manager Layne Newingham, and the guys that took care of us EVAN, LUKE, RUDY, and RYAN , who really went out of their way to make us feel cared for and that we had a good experience also that they cared for us as a customer and as part of Lake Mead resort. You know things happen with water sport items , but being that we had rented a boat , in other circumstances we would have been upset at the marina for the problem we had , but the staff did such an exceptional job that all the biter moment went away and it turned out to be a memorable experience and fun after all , I wish other places would have staff members like these people would be grateful. one of our member almost got heat stroke and the marina guys even provided us with some aloe for the sunburn and were on the look out if we needed anything else. for sure next year we will be back to Temple bar , we always enjoy visiting !!!
