My friend had the big breakfast and it certainly was that and looked good. We finished our brunch and grabbed another coffee to enjoy while chatting. The coffee was good. Not too big or small, just right. My seafood pizza was easily the best I have ever eaten. I loved the 2 large mussels served atop a bed of rocket with side of lemon. The meat filled the shells. No shrivelled mussels here! The rest of the pizza was not bombarded with toppings, allowing you to appreciate the base with mild seafood and olive flavours. $19 for a seafood pizza is unheard of; I'm used to paying $25 or higher. So well done on providing a superior pizza at a price I'd be happy to pay over again. To compliment the food and venue were terrific staff. Family run perhaps? This said, it was with much regret that I chose Brick Lane. I will admit that there has been an enormous improvement from the previous owners (decore, menu and service) my eating experience left me bed ridden for 3 days. My very pricey ceasar salad arrived with limp, slimy leaves and a sweaty side of dressing. The chicken needed to be rehydrated with steady gulps of water. It was obvious that my order sat under the heat lamp for far too long. I should have been honest and sent it back, instead suffered my greatest case of food poisoning ever. Will I condemn the new kid on the block? No. They can do a decent coffee and I am grateful they keep the machine on later than most. However, the menu lacks the contemporary Australian cuisine that I've grown to enjoy.... fyi- my wife disagrrees with everything Ive written. She really her lasagna.
