Events, chronologically;…read more 1988: A cologned officer handed back to me disabled nunchuks that my father had crafted for my brother. They smelled of cologne for a week. 1989: An officer told us to run home because it was past curfew. We ran straight into the arms of the chief. Our parents had to retrieve us from the station. Looking back, I can't figure out if I felt like Eddie Haskell as opposed to Kramer, but with less comedic subplots. Anyway, we stayed our even later after that. 1990: Dirt bike ride. I tapped the driver to let him know that we were being followed by a cop car through a field. We stopped. My friend was detained. It felt very "Over the Edge". Or, maybe more like "Firstborn". All this over a dirt bike? Willingboro plus dirt bikes means theft, plus no riding trails. Move to Florence. 1991: Cop or ex-cop that lives along Olympia Lakes claims that his street is private. Whatever, self-important man. 1997: Round neighbor calls the cops because our friend kept on parking in her space. She was so round that that made her angry in general, and the young cop was scared of her. Her normal-sized daughter tied one on often. 1998: Saw the kid that several cops were looking for. He could book, even with a backpack. Heard that kids were yelling about doughnuts in reference to a breathless, hefty cop. 2001/2002: Found two deceased German Shepherds not far from where police dogs are housed between Crystal Lake and Olympia Lakes. 2019: Went to the police station to inquire about my mom's stolen car. The cop I spoke with was very nice. He said not to try to get it back from the addict. Later, the cops bullhorned my daughter and I to get off of the hill at the Jazz Fest. We complied. We saw the cops again on the back paths at Mill Creek Park. They were again nice. They had it made in a golf cart. As you can see, most of my interactions with the police have been mostly tame. Compare those incidents to the Wildwood cop who basically called me an escort, the PATCO cop who asked if I was a dancer, or the Maggie Valley chief that can't keep a wife and takes it out on innocents. Times that the Boro cops should have been called: -Late seventies: When the neighbor beat his wife and teen daughters. He would spare his son. -1987: When that guy in the trench coat did not take the downhill path but walked close to our group. He approached us minutes later in the woods with only his coat and underwear on. Time not to call the cops: -1983: When you provide call girls to corrupt Philadelphia police and you are called to court to be a witness against them. In memory of Uncle Burt, 1918-1983. -

*2020 election ballot Dropbox review* Facts aren't…read morepolitical. The fact is we have a right to exercise our vote! Despite the narrative pushed largely by one major political party, the security of our election is only being compromised on a large scale by disinformation from Russia. Unfortunately, combine that with a hijacking of the postal service by an individual whose only qualification is being a donor to the current President, and many people of all stripes have legitimate concerns that our voices will be heard in this election cycle. So what to do? Well, vote! There are dropboxes located throughout Burlington County. I chose to use the "main" box located in the county seat of Mount Holly. The box is located on Rancocas Road directly opposite the multistory county services building. On it, there's a reminder that it is under 24 hour video surveillance and it closes at 8 pm on Election Day (November 3 this year). I'm glad I made the trip and trust our local officials will ensure counting goes smoothly. Thank you to Burlington county for providing us these secure drop boxes as another option in this pandemic. Exercising a constitutional right should be facilitated, not obstructed. Here's hoping for a peaceful, free and fair election. Update: There was a long line snaking out the front door onto the sidewalk, which piqued my curiosity. I called the County Board of Elections and learned a few things: -the drop box is collected EVERY HOUR during business hours and it's usually quite full -one only needs to present their ballot inside if they're bringing it in on behalf of someone else (and sign the envelope accordingly) -the representative said that another reason for the long lines was that "so many people aren't trusting in the system and they want to hand it directly to someone." The representative said that ballots in the drop box are likely counted before the others, and submitted ballots can be tracked at: 877-NJ-VOTER or https://voter.svrs.nj.gov/auth/sign-in
