I was impressed with the beauty of the entire place and then with Janelle and all of the staff who took great care of me.

Given that it was Christmas Day, I had expected long waits so I was surprised there wasn't anyone waiting in the lobby. I was able to get seen right away. The medical staff that took care of me were pleasant. As I had chest x-rays done along with a urine sample, it took around 30 minutes for the results. Overall, I was in and out in less than 2 hours. The only thing that I would note was that while it was a fairly clean facility, the cleaning staff wasn't completely thorough with cleaning the blood off the patient room I was in as I could still see dried blood on the floor.

The appointment they scheduled was a phone visit and the care I needed should have been in person, not over the phone. But they said that was their policy, phone first then I can be seen in person. Made no sense to me but I trusted they knew what to do. A few days before the appointment they called me and said I was scheduled wrong so they needed to reschedule me. So now, I thought I was scheduled correctly. The day before my appointment, I was sent a pretty bill and when I called for clarification, I found out I was scheduled incorrectly again and no one could explain the bill. Billing said one thing about a care I was receiving and the office said another. All I heard was "maybe it's then, maybe it's that." It was a headache for weeks trying to get scheduled correctly so I just went elsewhere. Found great care and am never looking back to BSW. I am so happy with my new doctor and the staff! I wasn't sent a bill before I went and they'll billed my insurance instead of asking for a payment before I was even seen. I got the same service I needed at BSW, so not sure why BSW even tried to bill me in the first place.

When they…read morestarted to offer urgent care downstairs in this building, we would come here for care if our primary care physician was booked up. Usually it's a walk in however on my last visit they allowed me to schedule an appointment online. Major points for that! Keep in mind, while they allow for appointments to be scheduled it does not mean you will be seen at that time. It just helps you get back sooner. If they have patients ahead of you or something urgent comes up then you will have to wait. My appointment was at 5pm and I actually went back into a room at 5:07pm. The provider working urgent care was family nurse practitioner Dampier. She was down to earth and very pleasant. I really liked her! The check in process was smooth and the clerk up front was very nice. It was icing on the cake that they now have X-ray services in the building. I was able to speak with the provider, get an X-ray and go home all in one visit! I didn't have to wait until another day or go to another location. Sweet! Definitely had a pleasant visit and one of the reasons why I continue to keep coming back for care.

My PCP not only listens, but makes sure I know I am being heard, & whatever brought me into her realm of expertise that day will be addressed, within the 'best of practice' guidelines. And if there's a medical need with which my Doc may be less familiar, she makes 'no bones' about researching a best answer &/or most likely 'course of action' to resolve presenting issues as soon as my body will respond to suggested treatment. She is a very clinically-oriented, patient-focused 'resident', unencumbered by being hard-prsessed to see, evaluate & treat as many patients as possible... like so many other MD offices, where the Docs work their asses off, seeing way too many patients per hour to actually do 'best practice' medicine, forfeiting the value of communication found within longer doctor-patient interactions, in favor of shortened appointments to increase greater profit margins. I am THANKFUL my PCP hasn't been pressured into that mold as yet and, hence, can practice medicine without the impending 'burnout', so many other docs experience on behalf of a 'for profit' corporate structure. BSW: "Patients are seen by appointment, and we offer pediatric extended and weekend hours for unplanned injuries and illnesses. Walk-in/urgent care hours are for sick care only. Call 512.509.3650 for wait times or more information." AND... if you have to get blood work done, KESHIA at BSW's Lab, on the First Floor, is an excellent choice. Relatively painless, 'first stick' did the trick... and I have hard-to-stick, 'rolley veins' ;) Parking and access to services are easy. And if you have time and want a great tasting Almond Croissaint, pop into the little Cafe on the First floor. It's very tasty and she makes a mean 'cuppa Joe', too!

We have Baylor Scott & White. LOVE Baylor Scott & White…read more This is about NextCare, which I learned later has only recently has been affiliated with Baylor Scott & White. They are not connected to the BSW system and apparently have not undergone training either. We went to this NextCare Urgent Care facility (Palm Valley and Sunrise in Round Rock) believing we were going to a BSW facility. Service was not up to BSW standards. The receptionist (blue hair streaks) was not friendly or helpful. Kept making me get up to answer questions. There was another person at reception who noticed I was having trouble breathing and walking. At least she walked over to me to sign forms and offered water. The blue hair streaks was better at staying seated and calling me to her. Why she couldn't get all the information on the first go is a mystery. The doctor was nice but not competent. When I failed to get better, I went to a REAL BSW urgent care, the doctor confirmed I was not given the correct prescription. Luckily, I had the forethought to bring the printout from NextCare that summarized the x-ray findings. Thankfully, I started getting better with the right prescription and dosage. I got a bill from NextCare. Just adds insult to injury, so to speak. I would avoid ANY NextCare facility even if Baylor, Scott & White is emblazoned everywhere. It won't be up to BSW standards, at least not for now.

The campus is smaller than other hospitals I've been to, which helped me arrive on time, and avoid getting confused about which building my appointment was in. With multiple heart doctors on my team, I can mix up who's doing what when and where. This hospital was manageable. I was in a shared room, (my first) but I had the window side, with a curtain drawn between the two bed areas creating adequate privacy. The single TV on the wall seemed to be more on my side, but there wasn't time to even turn it on. The very attentive nursing staff were busy asking me all the standard questions, double checking my medication list and fasting requirements, what I was there for, etc... all very professional, pleasant and efficient. When they had me ready for the cardiologist, I was wheeled into the surgical area and a new group of faces introduced themselves, went over a few more questions, and then the anesthesiologist said hello and I next thing I said was goodnight! Afterwards, back in my room, I was able to order lunch and had the salmon with veggies and chocolate pudding. The entree was so good! The BF (and my ride home) had arrived just in time to feed it to me as my right arm was in a contraption from the procedure. Discharge came with lots of aftercare notes, phone surveys and a handwritten thank you note signed by all the nurses. Nice touch!
