My Mother had a surgery scheduled here, and I was the driver. Apparently, this center believes it can control the actions of the driver, as a nurse named Nate tried to force me to stay for 2 hours. The extremely rude, unprofessional, jerk of a human at the front office named Brittney was also upset that I wouldn't stay and even tried to remove me as a driver. Listen, if you have a life, this hospital will try and micromanage you. If you can't take off work, they try to make you feel bad or even cancel the surgery. Brittney and Nate are horrible people and I can promise you, there are better surgery centers with more understanding people who do not try to micromanage your life...they only focus on doing their jobs. read more

One of the worst businesses regarding their billing. I can't begin to express the frustration it creates to have such an inefficient company send bills with no directions on payment, no way to ever get anyone on the phone, and no website to pay. Not only is it sketchy, it also creates potential financial problems for anyone using this facility. If this is a facility your dr uses, change to a dr that uses a more professional and well run surgery center. I beg you! read more

Had an endoscopy/colonoscopy here yesterday. Was really dreading it and grumpy from the previous 3 days of prep/lack of caffeine that morning. Some slightly negative reviews on here also concerned me, and medical facilities creep me out in general, but I trusted my fantastic doctor, Lilah Mansour, M.D. I must say, everything about this experience far exceeded my expectations. The facility is fairly new and spotlessly clean. (No hospital smells!) I was one of only two patients there that morning and the staff-to-patient ratio was impressive. It was a quiet and calm environment, but you could tell the staff were all wide-awake and seemed happy to be there despite the early hour. Everyone, from the front desk/intake person to all the surgery staff and attending nurses, could not have been more on top of their game as well as genuinely kind and friendly. They worked extremely well as a team and I quickly relaxed in the presence of so many skilled professionals. Also I have really difficult veins and appreciated that the nurse got the IV started on her first attempt. I can't imagine how a colonoscopy could be made any more tolerable than the way these people do it! So much better than my previous experience at another surgery center. I highly recommend Dr. Mansour and Williamson Surgery Center. Worth the drive from Austin or elsewhere. read more

Sometimes your body is jacked up, and organs got to git. In my case, it was the gallbladder. Am I really sure it had to go? That, my friends, will be covered in "Edison's F..ing Fantastic Surgery Voyage and Whistlestop Saloon Blog", coming to you this fall on Netflix Instant. To get to WSC - which exists primarily for outpatient procedures - take the University Blvd eastbound exit off 35 (passing by Ikea on your right), and keep heading east until you pass the Williamson Campus of Tx State U. WSC is part of that mega-medical complex right there that includes the Seton Medical Center (Williamson) hospital - but is not actually part of the hospital building. It IS part of a building that also includes a bunch of doctor's offices, past the hospital, that could use some better labeling. Since my surgery was somewhat elective, I can't tell you what the service would have been like had I been gurnied in screaming. But it was pleasant enough; the waiting room was pretty quiet, they had free wifi, and I was the only guy on the docket that day in that location for my surgeon. Once I was taken back to get prepped, I had to sit around a while longer, and had some very attentive nurses. Likewise, after the surgery itself, a few who were just stellar with regards to helping me get my pain stuff under control before they would let me leave. I think one of the nurses stayed on maybe 2 extra hours?? after she was supposed to leave, making sure I would be ok. (Which is good, because I don't really remember leaving the joint anymore, just somehow getting to a passenger seat for the ride home). After my experience at WSC, I am not sure that even a magnificently executed laparoscopic removal of the gallbladder - which mine seemed to be, based on my healing rate from day one - should be an outpatient procedure. Never answers the phone. They send a dozen confirmation texts and information saying to call them if there is a problem. But then never answer the phone or have a method to leave a message. Very frustrating. read more

My daughter had surgery there in July. If the review was based solely on surgical and nursing staff it would be 5 stars. The office and billing staff lost 2 stars. They called me in August that they mistakenly charged me 900 some dollars extra. September comes, no refund. Mind you they called me about the refund and then didn't do it. I called them and had to call a second and third time. They said that they were reviewing refunds and that they just did it. I don't think that something shifty was going on, but if you made a mistake, own up to it and say sorry. An apology that is sincere goes a long way. Watch the office charges and check with your insurance company to make sure the charges are correct. read more

I'm literally writing this a few hours out of having rotator cuff surgery. The experience was absolutely incredible. From the amazing experience of the pre prep (that guy is fantastic) to the unbelievably skilled anesthesiologist (she looked like a model too lol) to the entire staff, I was literally blown away by how great they all are. Had my cataract surgery here in late August 2019. Pleasant staff, excellent care, and a nice place for my husband to wait while I was having the surgery. Surgery went well and I am looking forward to coming back here to have the other eye "done" in a few months. read more

On 08/28 I was set-up for an EDG that was to occur 09/10. I registered and did all my medical ppwk that day. I even e-mailed Karen the PAT Coordinator letting her know of this. I called many times to leading up to 09/07 requesting a call back b/c a nurse was to call me with instructions and to go over insurance with me. The nurse finally called me on 09/05 to go over this info, but no insurance. On Friday 09/07 I get an e-mail from Javon K. Insurance Verifier, stating that on Monday I needed to come up with $558.33 (not even 1 business day notice.) I asked to be placed on a payment plan, and was rudely told they don't do payment plans. I asked to speak with the manager, I was transferred to Heather, this lady was even worse. She told me they were only getting $249 from my health insurance for the EDG that was being done and she wasn't going to be working with me. I have a 90/10% policy my deductible has already been met. She told me to cancel my surgery and reschedule it. I told her my throat was bleeding and I needed the EDG done. She said pay the $558.33. How can I come up with the amount on money? That is not including the $89.10 I paid to Anesthesia because they don't house there own. Williamson Surgery Center is only out to get your money. I am scared for the patient care they are giving. I work in the healthcare field and I would bend over backwards for my patients (within limits.) read more

Where to start there is so much to say that went wrong yesterday. My husband was there for surgery. When they called him back the pre op nurse was upset when I asked if our little girl could tell her daddy goodbye before he went back to surgery. When my husband was back in pre op for two hours he asked the same pre op nurse if she could come get me she told him he would have to wait till he got the general Anesthesia and the nerve block well after that he asked the anaestheioligist and his assistant if they would come get me that told him yes and it never happened. My husbands surgery started at 12:15 the surgery board out front was not updated until 1:02 pm for when I asked. No one kept me updated on anything and the doctor had finished and was coming up front to talk to me the receptionist could not even call me by my right name and got an attitude when I asked who the patient was. And she confirmed it was my husband I was so upset. I'm by no way upset by the dr but the staff at this facility was so heartless and careless. At 2:50pm when I finally got to see my husband he was in rough shape. Whoever took the tube out of his throat was rough because he kept complaining that the back of his his sore. Even now at 4:48 am the next day it still hurts. I pray that we don't come back to this place again. I would not recommend this place to friends or family. read more

On August 9th I had surgery here on my ankle. It was broken. First let me say the quality of care & the staff that attended to me was excellent. Can not even imagine how it could be better & the entire procedure went off without a single glitch. My 2 Star rating comes from how they deal with their patients regarding payment. They are the epitome of what is wrong with our health care system. It was made very clear to me on numerous occasions before I even had the procedure that my deductible with my insurance company ($3,000) had to be paid in full or they would not do the procedure. As of writing this review the cost of the procedure is 17 Grand & some change. Let's imagine for a moment they just billed me & I stuffed em. They would have still made 14 Grand. I understand their objective is to make money but they have zero scruples about putting it out there politely. A great part of doing business is to be refined & Williamson Surgery Center totally lacks any class. read more

I had a small procedure at the Williamson Surgery Center this week. I was impressed with the beauty of the entire place and then with Janelle and all of the staff who took great care of me. One friend brought me there and another picked me up. The staff knew I was alone at their facility and they were very kind and attentive to me. Today my daughter had her tonsils removed I could not say enough good things about this place. At registration Janelle was kind. Speaking with each of the children and laughing with them. We were given a survey to take home with us to share with them our upcoming experience. Postage paid. When we went back our Pre-Op nurse, Teresa, spent time checking us in and was also very kind and attentive. The anesthesiologist, Amanchala and his "eyes and ears" David, then came and introduced themselves so my daughter was comfortable with them. Next, Ashley (Operating Room Nurse), came by and went over all paper work making sure everything was in check and speaking with us briefly. My daughter was very comfortable with the staff when she went back and had no problem leaving mom behind. While we waited Janelle had noticed my other daughter with her arms in her shirt and was cold. She went and got her a heated blanket and then gave her a snack bag to eat. With a smile she returned to her desk to work. Our doctor came shortly after to speak with me right after surgery so I was aware they were done, it went well, upcoming expectations, and how much longer till I would be going back. Once we were back we had, Debra, our recovery room nurse. So wonderful! Constantly interacting with my daughter, offering me a drink, and her sister who was with us as well. I have lived in many places in the country...some were considered the best of the best. However, from beginning to end, there is not even a close second place to this surgery center. I would come here again, I will refer all people I know, and I hope they continue doing exactly what they are doing now regarding their patients. A job MORE than well done!!! read more

I agree with Steve E. when he states that the quality of care & the staff was excellent. I, too, have a complaint about their billing. I signed paperwork agreeing to monthly payments being withdrawn from my account, and I was in agreement with how much I owed for the procedure, no problems with any of this. The problems started when my medical issues were approved to be covered by workman's comp. The Surgery Center got paid from my medical insurance company, they got paid by me, and then they got paid by workman's comp. When I asked for a refund of the money I paid, all of a sudden there are additional fee's being charged for the monthly payments. This was not disclosed on any contracts. Mary Helen was emailed on October 6, 2016 to send copies of my billing statement, including all payments and there has not been a reply at all. Now I have to go through Medical Fee Dispute Resolution. Never, ever, never, will I ever go back to this place, nor will I ever endorse this place. read more
