Okay, seriously, am I the only person on the list of potential jurers? I have been called to jury duty seven times and served them all. This court has been the nicest of all the courts I have served on. Beautiful tiled entryway is in the waiting area. Stunning wood panel walls. The visitor's seats in court are the usual rock hard wood pews. So I guess I was glad I was picked so I could sit in the soft jury seats. The Procesutor, Judge and Bailiff were very pleasant to work with. Wow! They pay $10.00 per day instead of the usual 6 bucks. In conclusion, it is a nice place to visit but I wouldn't want to live there.

First off, if you are looking for the Police Dept, it is also located in this building. If you own a pet in Cedar Park, you gotta get CP tags at the police station. IT"S THE LAW!! and you gotta renew them with each rabies vaccine.....don't talk to ME about "the Man". He got me goin and comin. Being a model citizen (read: never been caught), I'd never been to court and this was definitely NOT what I'd expected. First you walk in and have to stand in line to sign in. Then you, and 20+ total strangers are all called in to air out your drama in public. At first, I was nervous about this ordeal...as time passed....and passed....nervous turned into boredom which turned into agitation...which eventually devolved into curiosity as I began to realize I was gonna be last called. Were they saving the best or the worst for last? Or was this pergatory some form of my punishment?? I learned a few things whilst waiting on my pew (very churchlike): 1. I learned how the judge metes out justice for traffic violations, juvenile delinquents, and minor assaulters (he was very fair and made me much more relaxed). 2. I learned that the guy who knows how the system works and can be helpful in directing you where to sign in, can be one of the assaulters. Be careful.... 3. I learned, again, why I don't have kids. There were a few bad eggs in there and I would hate to be they mommas. Actually, my "kids" are bad eggs too, apparently. Hmm. 4. I learned I can write an entire review in my head when I have nothing else to do but stare at wood panelling. I could tell you how many chairs were in the jury panel and describe in length the color scheme of the carpeting. But I don't want to bore you with details....I"ll just bore you with this review instead :) After you speak to the judge, you are directed to go back out of the courtroom and wait, again, to be called to settle your fines. What seemed an eternity in my brain, actually worked out to 2 hours flat, and as mentioned, I was the last one dealt with. This, btw, had nothing to do with when I signed in or alphabetical names. Nope it's all about your docket number...and nothing personal as I'd thought. I certainly wouldn't recommend coming here for grins, but if you are in trouble with the Po-Po, this is a relatively well-oiled machine and painless, except to your wallet. Btw, anybody want two sweet, hairy, drooly, goofy, neighborhood-roamin, no tag-havin, dogs?? I"ll only charge ya $250!

I met in pretrial, arbitration, with a prosecutor, I believe. It took 6 months to get a court date. Was surprised she (the prosecution) was only interested in attacking me personally, e.g. ("You're not very professional") & other snide remarks rather than talk about the actual merits of the situation. I find that adversarial, fiat-style government isn't really the best for conflict resolution.

Attempts were made to dismiss non-moving violation tickets yet was met with political agendas that no one will come to court legitimately to fight these types of tickets. In essence, if you receive a ticket non-moving violation or moving violation do attempt to get the issue reduced at pretrial. This judge has his own agenda and thus anyone who gets a ticket will lose even when you have evidence to the contrary. The attorney I had who had several good arguments to why I hadn't changed my license was met with refusal by this judge when trying to plea bargain for a dismissal or reduced fines. Even though the prosecuting attorney wanted to dismiss and move on with other trials this judge was trying to waste the time of the attorneys and the jury to perform such menial issues that could have been dealt with in a more expeditous manner. Even though the client complied with the statues of getting a license and registration even though the client had evidence to prove that residency was not established in the State of Texas but another state, this client had to go to trial and then pay court fees on top of the tickets including paying for a new license and registration in the state of Texas even though Texas is not the client's state of residency and owns property in another state. My recommendation to all of you is to one not get a ticket in Williamson County but if you do make certain you fight it at pretrial and not trial or you will pay more than you bargained for. Other courts in Travis County would comply with dismissing the tickets but apparetnly Williamson County has way too much time on their hands. What truly stinks is unlike the current issues of people like the Felix Hernandez who flees the scene after defacing private property and then is tasered by police and loses his life in the end. These people say they want justice for his life ending shortly due to police. In the end the police had to do the least amount of force to apprehend this fleeing felon and then the Heranndez familiy has the audacity to ask for justice. He flees the scene instead of politely talking to the police about his illegal activity and dies from his own stupidity and thus then they want justice and thus will probably get some illogical award for failing to comply with the police and for breaking the law. I on the other-hand comply and then use the court system to explain the reasons of why I did not break the law and then have to pay tickets and court fees for doing as the court and the law asked of me. In the end those who comply get screwed and people like Felix Hernandez's family will wind up getting some outlandish monetary award. Where is the justice?

With that being said in 2017, after working 10+ years for a court municipality I left and applied to an opening at city of round rock municipal court.I went through 3 interviews and was offered the position at the salary I asked for. I was soon let down upon calling to confirm that everything was in place for my first day. The court administrator said they were not moving forward with my application due to me not submitting a background check to the citys HR. I explained to her that not only was I never instructed to have this done by word of mouth, the offer letter did not explain any of this either. Her response? "I am sorry, there is nothing we can do." Six years later... and I find it amusing that people do indeed reap what they sow. I'm confident I dodged a bullet. Maybe someone above the court administrator will see how they cannot keep employees and make some dire changes.

I got my library card today and turned in my voter registration forms. The ladies at the front desk were both so amazing and friendly. The upstairs area has study spaces and plenty of books. The study rooms are spacious and clean. There are so many great resources to explore and the librarians were so happy to share. There are movie nights events, a silent book club, puzzle fun, and much more. Upstairs there is an area for plant propagation and a car you can complete if you have a plant question. Take a look, it's in a book ! Get you a library card!

You can check out books or music. There's a lot of places to sit in here and I see people sitting and enjoying each other's company. Some people are studying on their laptop. They have a wonderful sweet lemon kitchen area to get some food and drink drinks. The people who work here are very kind and helpful. You can check out the availability of your book online and reserve it, and they will put it in a special place for you. However, I love going through and just looking through the books and finding my book myself . There's something special about a book! When the book is due to be returned, they generously text you and ask if they can extend the rental, the avoiding charges for forgetting to return a book! There are events that are held at the library, such as concerts and other gatherings. They are posted in the front of the library. You should go look at them. This has become my new regular place. I am now reading a book series and it's so nice that I don't have to buy the book. I just read a book and I bring it back and I get the next one and in the meantime I'm certain to make a new friend! They have a children's section that just looks amazing. They even have a Jeep in there for the children to play! It is modified to be completely safe. There's no risk here. They have an elevator so you don't have to take the stairs to the second floor if you don't want to. When I was there, they were having a sculpture sale and it was just beautiful sculptures all over the library just wonderful. I highly recommend this library.
