They robbed me! Jewelry, silverware, family heirlooms. They tricked me into signing a tablet confirming that I received all my belonging. However, I did not receive an inventory list to check against for two days. Some of my storage boxes were delivered empty. I packed the containers myself so I knew what what supposed to be in those boxes. They went through my things and took what they wanted. They refused to pay for the items because I did not have receipts! They dropped my treadmill off the truck, broke an antique table, and chipped up our hardwood floors. The driver did not know the two guys that showed up to unload at our destination ( late ) Very unprofessional. I also had a very difficult time reaching someone in the office - always out of the office. No one could or would tell be where my cargo was being held for two days while we took possession of our new house 200 miles away. The guilt and pain that I feel for trusting this company with my valuables is overwhelming at times. read more

If I could leave zero stars I would. completely destroyed my furniture. Was told that they had "expert wood workers" look at my photos of damage and they determined that they were all old chips and scratches. When I asked to speak to the owner I was told by Tammy Green "Good Luck, hes never here." and that she would never give me his contact information because he doesnt speak to his customers. They also broke a brand new leather recliner and said that it was broken prior to them moving it. be very wary. They code everything with scratches and scuff to insure they will not be liable for any damages even if their team notates damage at time of delivery and initials the inventory sheet at delivery. I would never recommend anyone use them for moving. read more

Not "we will make sure you don't get charged for someone's incompetence" (which what else can you call it when someone reads "two desks" and thinks "one big desk"?). If I could give them negative five stars I would. These people are not honest. Before hiring them I asked if they were licensed to operate in California because I did not want my belongings unloaded and reloaded after picked up in Memphis, TN. I wanted one mover to do the whole job. Kim Thompson of Williams Transfer assured me they were, and my belongings would be loaded only once, so I proceeded with my move (which cost over $20,000). In fact, Williams Transfer is not licensed to operate in California, dumped my belongings in a warehouse in Mississippi and only then advertised for a third-party to finish the move. The mover who actually brought my belonging to me in California explained this to me. He also explained many items that were damaged by Williams transfer: arms broken completely off chairs, glass mosaic tables smashed, stand up paddle board covers ripped from one end to the other. The list goes on. Now they are refusing to pay for the damage they did. If you want a mover you will have to sue, they are the ones for you! read more

If I could give this company 0 stars I would. Do not use them! The person that did my estimate was dishonest. I stressed to him that I wanted packing and unpacking included for my move. He also knew that I was getting estimates from other moving companies. The one page estimate did list unpacking (the estimate simply stated unpacking with no further explanation). The estimate I got from Allied was 3 pages and spelled out all of the services in great detail. The Allied estimate was $700 more so I went with Williams Transfer much to my regret. When the movers got to my new home they informed me that the only unpacking included was for the mattresses. I contacted the moving coordinator and she verified what the movers told me. I was furious. She informed me that she could get a team over to unpack me in a week at an additional cost of $2,000. This was unacceptable,. She then agreed to have someone come over after I finished unpacking to remove the boxes and packing material. I contacted the moving coordinator 3 days later after I had finished the unpacking. I got no response. I reached out several more times and still no response. Once I told her that I was going to be in Oxford in a couple of weeks and would be stopping by her office since calling and emailing wasn't working and she finally got back to me after 3 weeks. It took an additional 2 weeks before someone was sent out to collect the boxes and packing material. I don't know how this company stays in business. I had a 2 bedroom apartment and moved 10 miles away to another 2 bedroom apartment and was quoted $300-$400 for the move. They charged me twice as much. Stating that when one of the movers left a drain hose and a dryer vent they had to go back and get it. I got to the house and waited for them.. Even called and told them never mind it was taking them to long to get there. No reply! They finally came and I was charged way to much for the little I had to have moved and that when they forgot to items from the old house that it was "on me". Never again will I use them. Williams Moving & Storage recently moved my Mother from Tennessee to California. the packing crew arrived on time each day and efficiently packed her very large house. The loading crew arrived early and loaded the packed items and her car into the moving van on the day scheduled. Some items were left at the residence, but Tammy took care of getting those items loaded on another truck and shipped to CA. Although the company experienced an unexpected staffing issue that resulted in our delivery being delayed, Tammy was in constant communications with us about the status of our delivery. We have yet to unpack everything, but what little we have unpacked was packed with care to avoid damage. I give this company a 'Thumbs Up'! read more

My mother had to go into assisted living 10 years ago. Williams Transfer and Storage packed and stored my mothers antiques and household goods for those years. Recently my siblings and I had to settle her estate, which required us to travel from Texas and Washington State. Everything was excellently stored and protected. The staff at Williams were a great assistance preparing the area for us to go through the crates and assisting us with disbursement of her furniture. They called me repeatedly. Then on moving day they said they would be here at 8 am. Now it's 8am till 10 am. 9:22 still no one has showed up. I am sorry I selected this company. Hopefully they will show up for our 3 hour move which they say will take 2 days. I cannot recommend this company. They finally showed up at 9:45 am and said another truck is coming in an hour. I cannot believe their level of dysfunction. I would also give them 0 stars but not possible. Big truck showed up at 10:40. Got a call from a Kim assuring me I would be moved out today. No kidding that was our agreement. They are so disorganized. Now I have two trucks in front of my house and they are complaining because of lack of room. It was supposed to be one truck. They show up with a gigantic 18 wheeler now I understand why we are not getting out stuff till Weds. They are going to make multiple moves. If you are looking for a mover, move on past Williams Moving and Storage!!!!! The problems started on my load date. They were supposed to arrive from 8-10 am and showed up almost 2 hrs late. Then the truck they sent was too small for our stuff, so they had to send another truck the next day, which delayed our leaving on our 5-day road trip to our new home. I was given a 7 day spread for delivery, and throughout the 7 days any time I wanted to check and see if there were any updates on the delivery date of my stuff, I had to call them. They always promised to call me one way or another but never did. Here we are at the end of my delivery window and they still cannot tell me when my stuff is going to arrive. No answers and no accountability whatsoever. And oh by the way, the stuff on the second truck that they loaded won't arrive until even later than the first! I was told "at least I'm not lying to you" by Tammy, my moving coordinator. Yep, that's the standard this company runs on. Buyer beware!!!! Edit 7/17/2018: I called the number posted in the reply to my review and left a message on 7/16/2018. I have not received a call back yet. I was also promised a call from my moving coordinator yesterday, which again didn't happen. I waited until less than 1 hr before office closing time and gave up and called her myself. This has been my consistent experience. Always a promise to call "one way or another" but she never does. My stuff is now in transit to me, and will be arriving a full week later than the last day of the delivery window I was originally given. This means they have had my belongings a full 3 weeks before getting them to me. Not to mention that all my stuff was stored in a truck outside baking in the Mississippi heat for those two weeks. Had I know this is the care my stuff was going to be given, you better believe I would not have chosen to use this company. After having my household moved by commercial movers several times over the years, my most recent experience with Williams Transfer has been the most disappointing and mismanaged relocation I've experienced On packing day the packers were supposed to arrive between 8:00 and 8:30 am. By 10:00 nobody had arrived and there had been no communication from the office. Finally at around 10:30 someone from the office called and at around noon three men arrived and began packing. This was the most careless packing experience I've had which resulted in a large volume of my household not fitting on the truck and being left behind in a warehouse. Empty boxes were packed inside empty boxes. Imagine opening a large United Van Lines box at the destination and finding inside an empty shoe box. Imagine opening one box and finding a toaster oven and then opening a second box and finding an empty toaster oven box. Two weeks after the cross country move all of the contents left behind in Tupelo are still unaccounted for. After finally getting an update 2 days after it was promised, it now appears it will be another week, possibly two, before the rest of my contents arrive. The driver spent far too much time standing around cracking jokes and making derogatory comments and talking about how he didn't really like his job. This, along with the poor packing and/or mismanaged cubic footage estimate resulting in the overflow and subsequent re-inventory extended the load time by about two hours according to the driver. I also experienced more damage to my contents than during any other relocation. A large hole was punched through the back of a new expensive chest of drawers along with a large scratch across the front. A hole was gouged out of my sofa damaging both the upholstery and the frame . The driver was in no way apologetic or concerned. In fact his responses were to chuckle and say something along the lines of "Oh well, let's just write it up." At the destination I discovered that I would need an appliance service to change out the electrical plug on my dryer. Williams did not schedule this on the day it was supposed to be scheduled and when it was finally scheduled, the work order was incorrect and took additional time and phone calls to correct. Communication with the office was a challenge. Voicemail messages were not returned. When I was promised updates via call or email, those updates never came and I had to make multiple calls just to get someone to speak with me. The final straw, on the day this review was written with many of my contents still unaccounted for, came when I made a phone call to the office requesting to speak with owners James or Mike Williams. An office worker named Jean refused to give me a contact phone number or email address to speak directly with the owners. Apparently the owners have no interest in hearing from customers who spend several thousand dollars to have their households safely and professionally transported. I had received two quotes from my relocation, one from United and one from Mayflower. I now regret choosing Williams Transport and United and will not repeat that mistake. read more

On the packing end of things, UVL did a great job!! On the delivery end, not so good. One guy spent more time on his phone than he did moving boxes and furniture. Boxes for the basements were carried to the 2nd floor. We found 2nd floor boxes in the basement. Beds were assembled very sloppily and my husband and I had to take the mattresses off and assemble the bed frames correctly. One bed, they didn't even put the wheels back on the frame. None of the mirrors were put back on the dressers like they said they would do. They just started putting boxes in the garage like they had to be finished by a certain hour. It was very frustrating. They were careful with the furniture but that's all the good I can say about them. 5 stars for the guys at the origin of the move. 2 stars for the delivery end. read more

Williams Moving is easily the worst company I have ever done business with. Williams was contacted regarding a move from Mississippi to Texas. I was initially very impressed with their salesperson that gave us the estimate and was also impressed by the move coordinator, Tammy Green. Both seemed very responsive and easy to work with. My move date was May 5th and I was a bit frustrated that they wouldn't give me a firm delivery date (original delivery window was May 8th to 18th) but figured it would get finalized quickly once they picked up my belongings. The movers arrived on time and worked relatively efficiently as they were only there about 3 hours (I found out later this was because they did a sloppy job of loading the truck). At the end of the loading process, they were supposed to put my car onto the truck. My move coordinator had scheduled a wrecker that would lift up the car on a platform so that it could be easily driven onto the moving truck. My cost estimate included a $100 for this service. Instead of using the wrecker service, the driver said he was going to just drive the car onto the truck using some thin wooden ramps. When I protested, they all assured me that they do this all the time and two members of the crew said that they had never even heard of using such a wrecker service to lift up the car. When he tried driving my car up the ramp, he ended up mashing the muffler and tailpipe (more on this later). I was a bit upset and called Tammy Green about this. She was also frustrated and assured me that he was supposed to use the wrecker service and that Williams would reimburse me for any damages to my car. On a different note, the moving crew never brought any tools to take apart my furniture. I had to give them my Leatherman multi-tool or they wouldn't have been able to get my items taken apart and put on the truck. When they were done, I put the multi-tool on my fireplace mantle. Later that evening, I went to put the tool in my bag and noticed it was gone. I have no proof that one of them took it but it doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize what happened. Williams moving didn't deliver my belongings until May 17th. A separate crew delivered our belongings. The delivery driver did use the wrecker service and upon final inspection we saw that the muffler and tailpipe were damaged. We also saw significant damage to the passenger door/mirror that must have happened on the moving truck. He delivery driver told me that the first driver had a history of damaging their own trucks and that the manager was furious that he didn't use the wrecker service. The story with the first driver became legendary amongst the Williams office and I was assured by three different people that the manager was going to take the cost of repair out of that driver's paycheck. I felt assured that I would be treated fairly and professionally...I was wrong. I got estimates from both a mechanic and collision center and the total estimates were $1,780. On June 7th, I sent these estimates to Jean Walls who files their damage claims. She told me that she couldn't approve this herself and needed to send it to the corporate headquarters (Williams is affiliated with United van lines). I sent some follow-up information she requested about a week later. After a couple of weeks of not hearing anything, I contacted Jean again and asked for the manager's contact information so I could ensure that this claim didn't fall through the cracks. She never responded. I asked again about a week later and again never got a response. On July 3rd, I phoned the office asking to talk to a manager and was told they weren't in. On that date, I also sent Jean an email on this date asking for the status on my claim and she never responded. Finally, towards the end of July, I filed a dispute with my credit card company for both the $100 wrecker service I never received and the $1,780 car damage. I sent Jean an email stating that she was purposefully ignoring me and I still wanted the names of Williams manager and a contact at the corporate office that was handling my claim. She never responded. I finally called the United corporate office and tracked down the person handling my claim. She said that Jean had never sent her all the necessary paperwork. She also told me that Williams could have simply handled this claim themselves. In about a day she processed the claim and they mailed me a check a few days later. The most frustrating part is that they wouldn't give me that contact information for management. I have seen other reviews online showing that other customers were also refused this information. It appears that Mike Williams (the general manager) and the rest of his management staff are hiding behind the skirts of the moving coordinators and receptionists. Pretty disgraceful. read more

It was horrible experience with them.. the previous review said almost everything that happens to us with our unpleasant experience with them even mention the name of the same person we also got to supposedly to help us she was absolutely not professional to deal with customers and yes she's is rude and yes the only word she knows is "I don't know".. starting from the day they supposed to pick up our furniture they didn't show up and she didn't know the reason as this is her always and forever answers to everything, put us in a very upsetting situation to the day they delivered our belongings not all of them we have to wait over a month to receive the rest of our stuff and she doesn't answers her phone I have to contact customer service she will answer them same time I was calling her minutes ago won't answer.. no updating us at all I have to make calls to customer service and to be informed otherwise she's will just ignored. We had a horrible experience with Williams Transfer / United. First, the estimator was off on our move by over 6000lbs. So essentially we paid a HUGE amount of money over what was actually moved. They give a tiny sum back to you in overages but ultimately we got ripped off. We tried to call and work it out but the woman working there named Kim, who should never be allowed to do any sort of customer service, was rude and combative. Even with our dissatisfaction Mr. Williams, who did the estimate, never called us to discuss. Horribly rude staff and an owner who seems to be overestimating to make more money, this is a company to be avoided! read more
