Was bringing in my cats for a weigh and medication, unfortunately my kitty poo'd himself and it got into his fur just before arriving. I asked for some supplies to clean him up with (I didn't ask them to clean him for me just like a dab of shampoo and a spray bottle or something to clean it up) and after some begging they gave me 5 sheets of paper towel... Mind you I wasn't just coming off the street I had been with them for 2 years, called ahead and paid over $200 for medicine today. If you know anything about cats they are absolute clean freaks and already stressed out enough being outside of the house and these people couldn't care in the slightest that he's covered in his own filth. Then they had the audacity to say well if you had an exam appointment we'd be happy to clean him up for you! Real good that does me plus I wasn't even asking them to clean him up I had zero problem doing it myself. If that doesn't scream "I don't care about your animals" then I don't know what does. Front office has always been rude and demeaning but the saving grace has always been that the actual vet was nice and knowledgeable. Not looking forward to vet shopping but I'll be damned if I ever go back here.

Guzman and Garza have performed surgery on our dogs, and Dr. Gowens has seen us for routine check ups. TWICE this team has come together to save two of our dog's lives. Some of my favorite things about them: - They aren't judgmental & won't make you feel worse than you already do. When our pups are sick or injured, we immediately go to feeling guilty and remorseful. The entire staff has great "bedside" manner and will help you find a solution vs. lecturing you. - They are fairly priced. Taking your pup to the vet can be costly, no matter where you go. Kings Highway isn't a discount vet, but they won't add on unnecessary items to your bill or make decisions without running the price tag by you. - They are flexible. Urgent issue? I've never had a problem calling, telling my story, and getting seen same day, if something is really wrong. All in all, Kings Highway is an amazing place and I don't think we're going to stop taking our dogs there, even though we've moved to San Antonio. THANK YOU!

I was nervous and unsure of what to expect but the staff were all extremely welcoming and nice, and informed me of everything they were doing and confirmed with me before doing any tests. My only dissatisfaction is upon informing me my cat has gingivitis, the only solution they offered was a $1400 surgical procedure. I was not informed of any alternative treatments, or any measures I can take that could help my cat other than an major surgery. Other than that, they were all amazing and kind. They were gentle and did an extensive, yet quick exam- inside of the eyelids, down the throat, genitals, intestines, etc. They were a lot more thorough than my last vet and half the cost! So far I will be back! They were also very timely- a HUGE plus to me. I saw that they sell Science Diet and other prescription dog and cat foods in both small and large bags, but unfortunately they didn't carry the exact kind of Science Diet I use for my feline friend.

They gave us some antibiotics and told us everything will be fine. On our last visit to them, they stated that they marked their fecal test as done, but said they must have "misplaced it" and that the test was never done. Rest in peace my little Mika :( Additionally, the wait times here are insanely long, no matter how long you have been a patient. Multiple times, over the last 10 years or so, my pet and I have had to wait well over an hour to be seen. Having an appointment does not matter to these people. I wrote a 1 star review in the past and the called my MOTHER. Their reasoning for calling my mother was that she is the account owner for our pets, stating they know their patients so well that they know who is leaving a review. My mother was harassed by these people for days, receiving at least 3 phone calls from someone that works here regarding MY review. They lied and said my mother was happy with their services. My mother's name is on the account, however I am the one that takes our pets to their appointments. If they know us so well, they should have known that my mother is not the one who takes them to the vet. It is extremely unprofessional to harass my mother regarding MY review. My mother was NOT happy with their services either. This establishment sent an urgent letter to MY SISTER, not OUR address, to fire us as a client, even though we had already cancelled everything with them and told them we would not be returning. They have admitted that they forgot about my pets and me while we were sitting right in their lobby. Leave a bad review and they'll call your mom. What a horrible, horrible experience. DO NOT TRUST THIS PLACE. They will report and remove your Google review if you leave a 1 star.

Took my newly adopted dog there because he had been experiencing coughing, sneezing and copious…read moreamounts of mucus draining from his nose. The only reason why I went there and not somewhere closer is because the place where I adopted him from gave me a $250 voucher to use at a VCA clinic. After my visit, you couldn't pay me to return. To begin, there isn't one nice or happy person that works there!. My experience started with the vet tech Taylor and then later we were joined by the veterinarian Dr. Leslie. I asked Dr. Leslie if she could take a look at my pups sutures from being recently neutered. With her ungloved and hopefully sanitized hands she aggressively pinched and grabbed the area so hard that it broke his sutures and caused bleeding. I'm no doctor but, I'm pretty sure that's not going to promote healing. He was not bleeding before we went in. I know they took him into the other room for about 1 minute to weigh him. I'm not sure what else they did. I can tell you what they didn't do in front of me. I never saw them take his temperature. I never saw them looking in his ears or in his nose, his teeth....nothing at all! The only thing I saw anyone do was observe him from a distance and give him a milk bone. Dr. Leslie told me that he seems fine. She doesn't see any mucus coming out of his nose. Well, there was but, he licks it up or it's draining down his throat when he's standing. While there, he was coughing and sneezing. Due to her disbelief, I felt compelled to prove he is suffering day and night from congestion so, I pulled out a picture I took of him the previous night with a puddle of mucus on the floor, where he was sleeping. She replied, "oh yuck!". Not the most professional verbiage I've heard but what bothered me is, she was dismissive of my concerns and never felt for swollen glands or lymph nodes etc. . Also, why did I have to pull up a picture to prove that he has indeed been suffering from sinus issues? Why didn't she look at any part of him except for the sutures she ruptured?!! Throughout the appointment, I would ask the doctor a question but, before she could answer the tech, Taylor would either interrupt the doctor or speak for her, which seemed very odd to me. I don't know why the doctor allows the tech to steamroll over her. It was very unprofessional and I didn't want to hear her answers, I wasn't asking her and I'd rather hear from the person that has a doctorate. From both Taylor and Leslie, they responded with a condescending and patronizing tone. Meanwhile I noticed that Taylor, vet tech would do eye rolls towards the doctor, thinking I couldn't see which was beyond rude. Taylor was very snarky, haughty and self righteous just awful. I feel like that place sucked the soul out of me. I've noticed some of the responses by the manager on here is they can't find you in their database or as being one of their clients. So, to clarify..Yes I am and I was just in there, Monday September 8th at 2:30. Well, I was there and my appointment was at 2:30 but I wasn't seen until around 3:15. I didn't see anybody waiting in the lobby. They were not busy. It's now Friday and dog is still sick, I've emailed and called several times now to pick up the antibiotics that Dr. Leslie said she would prescribe if he didn't get better in a few days. She didn't want to give them to me right then because she wants to be a a good "steward" in the medical industry. Ok. I get it but MY DOG IS STILL SICK AND I NEED HIS MEDICATION!! I can't imagine taking an animal here, especially if it were a life and death situation. Or if it was time to send your fur baby over the rainbow bridge. There was no sense of caring at all at this place and I guess they don't take the "Hippocratic Oath" here. Go somewhere else, ANYWHERE ELSE BUT HERE. Update: The response from owner is utterly ridiculous and patronizing which proves my point! They want me to contact their review department so they can "listen and support me"? What?! You're a vet clinic owner, not a therapist. A more appropriate response would be: 1. I'm sorry 2. We will address this internally so it doesn't happen again 3. How can we make this right? I guess it's the trickle down from the owner. Not one iota of taking responsibility.

My cat may lose her eye, VCA lost any and all respect from me and I WILL NEVER BRING ANOTHER ANIMAL to VCA again. No appointment, zero help, waste of my time.
