My doctor informed me they're the only urologist in town, so I expected it to be awhile before I heard from them. Now it's July and after getting another referral from my doctor they're claiming they don't have one, and now I have to get another one sent their way even though they can clearly see they dropped the ball in December. The receptionist is the rudest person I have ever spoken too, when asked when I get my new referral if I would then expect to hear from them, she said, well duh as if that was the stupidest question I could have ever asked. I'm sorry but you dropped the ball for 7 MONTHS, how am I suppose to expect you'll make it right this time. She also rudely hung up on my once she realized she was being a bitch, at least I'm assumed she knew she was. Who knows, because clearly by the other reviews of this place, nobody has had the heart to tell her or fire her. Sorry but I'm thinking I'll literally fly anywhere else than go here or talk to that receptionist again.

Given my consultation on the blood draw is nearly 4 weeks out, I am hoping I can reengage with a new provider for a quicker turnaround.

If you use them , make sure you do follow…read moreup to ensure that they pass on information and call you back for the results of your tests. My experience was not good. I had an appointment with a PA and she ordered some labs. She told me that she would call me back with the results. The results were back that Saturday of the same week. I received no call about the results. I called to follow up and left a message with the front desk and still no call. I ended up having to go in to get the results. I met with the PA and I was concerned about my kidney numbers. The PA told me that she would contact my Dr. at the VA. This was in April. I got busy with life and then I remembered that I'd not heard from my VA provider. Now this is July. My VA provider's staff told me that they never received any paperwork from Alaska Urology. A MA from Alaska Urology called and left a message that it looked like someone had tried to fax it and it didn't go through. Apparently they didn't check to ensure it went through. The MA's message indicated that they would re-fax. I also had a bad experience with the front desk. I see that I wasn't the only one because someone else left a review on their experience from 2023. The person that answered the phone on the Tuesday that I called to see why no follow up had been done on an appointment in April and it was now July. The woman that answered the phone did not identify herself. I started telling her what my problem was and she cut me off mid sentence. I corrected her for cutting me off mid sentence and then it got quiet. I didn't know if she was still on the phone so I asked if she was still there and she said that she was waiting for me to finish my sentence. She also told me that I should try to be by the phone for when I got a call back. First of all people are busy, like they are busy, and can't always be available. I'm a responsible person and don't need instructions on being available for phone calls. I also asked for her to let me talk to her Supervisor. She passed me through to a vm and I left a message on Tuesday and by Thursday I'd not received any phone call back from the Supervisor. I called back on Friday morning to speak to Madison and after waiting on the line for seven minutes ( I then hung up and called back again) I was able to speak to Madison. Madison was told about my experience with the follow up and her front desk staff. Madison told me that she would pass on my concern about the follow up to the person that handles the clinical part of the business. She then went on to tell me what a wonderful person the woman that I had the front desk interaction with. I felt that she was discrediting my experience with the front desk person. Like she said , she wasn't on the other line, but she was making excuses. I hung the phone up because what she said was making me upset. I guess she felt it was okay for her staff to cut people off when she they were talking. She also said that the front desk person thought I was finished talking. How could that be when there was no pause and I was talking? Madison , the front desk supervisor, might want to listen to concerns patient call with instead of telling the patient what a wonderful person that you are complaining about. She might be a wonderful person, but that day she wasn't. I also forgot to tell her that I overheard two of her front Staff talking about some woman. I was sitting right by the desk when they were talking.
