WHEREVER YOU ARE DR. FIG - Forget the paid reviews. Here's the truth about Dr. Figlesthaler. Dr. Fig is controlling, sharp, bullying, never nice, barely cordial. And no social skills whatsoever. Having been diagnosed with prostate cancer, he scared me into treatment that could be completed in other ways. I am now maimed forever. He lied to me and bullied me into doing it his way, or the highway, literally. When I questioned him about the anti-androgen injection, he literally said to me, "If you do not want to do this just leave." An ultimatum. From a doctor I trusted. When I was SO totally vulnerable, instead of support, he bullied me. He used my vulnerability as a weakness to force treatment on me. While I cannot change what has happened - 18 months of hell - I can warn others. Even if he is your current urologist, BEWARE. Find someone who actually cares if you get well. Not a mechanic who knows he's always right. You've heard about some doctors bullying people into treatment. He is the classic case. It has taken 2 years to write this because I have been far too angry to put it down on paper. So BEWARE. He is a wolf in sheep's clothing and he's out to get those who question him. Believe me, I know everyone wants to trust their doctor. I do as well. But when he/she holds life and death decisions in his hands without caring whether you get well or not, and only if you do it HIS way, think again. That is the kind of doctor he is. Yohanni Torres, his PA is also a professional who is extremely caring. There was never a time where I felt rushed. I believe that they took great care to listen to me and to help me weigh my options prior to any procedure. In fact, Dr Fig made it a point to encourage me to get a second opinion prior to performing surgery. Was referred to Dr. Figlesthaler from a nurse friend. We are so very grateful for this referral! Dr. Fig is very knowledgable and we immediately felt we were in qualified hands. He had came up with a good plan for us on the very first meeting. He did a thorough exam, inhouse blood draw for PSA (done right there, no need to go to a lab and wait HOURS), urine sample tested, ... He was on time, had a team of "on the ball" employees moving us through and efficiently getting things done. WAY different experience than what we went through at another local urologist's office. Also, the office is warm and inviting, could hear some laugher and the employees really seemed to care. Felt like we finally found the proper doctor. I was on vacation in Naples and needed a urologist. I called and was seen that day. My insurance would not cover anything out of state. Dr Figlesthaler and his staff were so attentive to me. They listened to my issues and treated me like a long time patient. Dr Figlesthaler was very thorough let me know to call if I had any more issues. His staff is top notch and when I checked out even gave me a discount. I had a follow up appointment and again treated well. Dr Figlesthaler let me know what to follow up with at home. I'd give a zero if I could. I had to recommend an approach to first treat for prostatitis after an MRI came back negative for cancer and possible prostatitis. He wanted to immediately move to a biopsy. I insisted and it turned out to be prostatitis and after treatment my PSA was back to normal. He didn't even follow his own protocols for the blood test timing after the antibiotic treatment. He wasn't too happy when I refused the biopsy and recommended the antibiotic treatment. No empathy, cancer-happy, procedure happy and arrogant. Oh, and here is the kicker. They have my PSA after treatment results which basically say "no cancer" and NO ONE CALLS me! They make me come In for an office visit where I think that I am getting bad news for them to tell me good news. I think that based upon my experience I am a better urologist then he is. I found Dr Figlesthaler very arrogant and in one instance rude. He spent very little time with me before and after a procedure with little explanation as to what he had actually done. 6 days after the procedure I landed up in the ER. I am seeing another urologist and hope that Dr Figlesthaler has not caused any permanent damage. In hindsight the 1 and a half hours I was kept waiting on my first visit after my appointed hour with no explanation or apology I should have taken as a red flag and left there and then. read more

Good Doctor if you could see him long enough to talk to him. Does not spend enough time to listen to important details that are of concern to the patient. His PA does that and information is not delivered to the physician accurately. Fast pace office. Good staff but disfunctional, not organized. They reschedule appointments at random. Staff is not in sync with one another with procedures, records or appointments. My insurance company was billed for a procedure I never had. read more

Dr. Figlesthaler was to remove a stone by laser. It was stuck in my tube. He said he got it and put a stent in me for 2 weeks. I was in constant pain. He said it was from the irritation caused by the stent. I returned to NY and collapsed at home in pain. Turns out he never removed the stone and cut my tube. Urine ran through my body, making me septic and putting me in critical condition. Dr. Michael Grasso and Dr. Lou Faiella both said Figlesthaler almost killed me. This is the place if you are looking for a lying, rude, inconsiderate staff. The Dr. Is greedy and known for double booking appointments. I waited just under 2 hrs before alerting the office I had to step outside to make some calls. At that time, they said there were 3-4 more people before me. I returned in 10 minutes to learn they were rescheduling my appointment. They knew when I first arrived that I was suffering with abdominal pain. Compassion is non existent at this establishment. I have since found a new dr that I got to say after waiting only 20 mins. read more
