Although I have only been his patient for a couple of years, he has greatly improved the quality of my life and peace of mind. He is responsive, communicates clearly and possesses a confidence that helps enhance his healing approach. Even if the news he must share is difficult to hear, his delivery makes you feel he is there to support you along the treatment journey. His staff is equally professional and supportive. I highly recommend him to anyone seeking a top notch physician.

He's been my doctor since he took over the practice he's in years ago ~ and my family's as well. One of my children (she passed last year) had a very, very complicated medical life that involved quite a few specialists but none did her even half the good that Dr. Barba did. He legitimately cares about the people who have entrusted him with their care. He thinks about ways to help his patients even when he's not looking at them. He also has a first class staff. I highly recommend him and his practice.

Finally, after hours of n/v, finally ended up at Marshall Hospital ER. The check end was smooth and professional and I was promptly taken to an exam room. Since I have worked at Myrtle Beach Regional Medical Center as a Pharmacist, I am very familiar with protocols and procedures. I was immediately seen by a nurse ( I forgot her name .. but she actually had been to Ocean Isle Beach, NC for vacation) and received great care with compassion. My MD was prompt and his choice of drug and protocols and diagnosis was quick with professional attentiveness. Shane Torgerson, MD was quite out-standing with his bedside manner and his attention to detail. AAA++ ER Physicians see numerous cases through out their shifts, and they become great diagnosticians because of their experience. I had excellent care and if this is any indication of Marshall Hospital's dedication to the community, then I can definitely say my care was impressive. Being a non/profit hospital has its challenges but I feel that the people of Eldorado and the city of Placerville have a gem ( gold nugget) in their community. My thanks to an outstanding Emergency Department ! They are there to help with complete emergency examination and treatment.

After waiting ONE YEAR for an MRI on my seriously painful back, after epidurals & opiates, bc the orthopedic doc wouldn't see me without one, I had to call orthopedics & bc they knew me from other ailments, I got a PA appointment so she could order the MRI for me. FINALLY! I don't have a rotator cuff bc the doc I had then waited too long to get me the care I needed. My bad shoulder became worse to where even surgery can't fix it. I asked the doctor if he had gotten me care sooner would I be without a cuff. His answer? PROBABLY (with a shrug like, "yeah, & your point is?") I only go there bc I have to.
