My first visit for an "overall" body check in years. All seemed good in my first visit at the…read moreEllenton location. The office is on the "backside" of the building for starters. Knowing this ahead of time, will make your first visit SO much easier, especially if it's rain8ng. There is plenty of free park8ng. I am giving them a 4 rating right now because with this type of business, an additional visit or two will give me a better understanding of who rgey are and the quality of their work. Ratings here matter. The overall succe ess of a business here matters. I will need a few additional visits to give a fair assessment. I am very pleased with the people thus far... Let's see what future visits are like, I do have some follow-up recommended. I will be back to report..

I was a patient at sarasota dermatology for about 2 years. My last skin check up, I advised I was…read morediagnosed with RA or PA but needed to have a dermatologist help confirm as I am RA negative for blood work and both conditions are very similar in initial diagnosis. I am so irritated with the front office. I had a flare up about 9 months ago, tried getting an appointment and could never reach them directly and left voicemail. Well, the called me 3 weeks after those voicemail, plural and the flare was gone. Fast forward to now, I have another flare and it's super painful and itchy and red. I call, leave a voicemail on Friday morning, no response, Monday morning and late afternoon call and leave 2 more voicemail, no response, Tuesday same thing. In the meantime, i had also attemoted to schedule in their new portal and if course it isnt working so i sent them an email. Wednesday, I call another dermatologist who thankfully isn't making me wait 6 months to get in and now on Wednesday night at 640pm, I get an EMAIL, AND A TEXT. NOT A CALL. Apologies for your issues getting in touch, please go to our website and schedule or call us in the morning. WAIT, WHAT? I JUST LEFT YOU VOICEMAILS AND EMAIL EXPLAINING MY SITUATION AND HOW IVE BEEN UNABLE TO REACH YOU AND THIS IS WHAT YOU ADVISE? IN THE TIME IT TOOK TO TYPE THE STUPID EMAIL, YOU COULD HAVE CALLED ME! So rude and so awful to do to a patient who was told by the provider to call when a flare up occurs and I tried all avenues except walking into the building. Shame on you all! I hope you learn to do better but I won't stick around to find out.

I paid the quoted amount at the time of my appointment. At no point was I informed that I would receive a separate bill from Quest Diagnostics for lab work. I later received an unexpected $400 charge for a basic bacterial test. As a self-pay patient who explicitly asked for the total cost upfront, I find this lack of disclosure unacceptable. Patients should be clearly informed when services involve third-party billing, especially when they are uninsured and relying on quoted pricing to make informed decisions. I also received an additional bill from the clinic that was not clearly explained. After speaking with Megan Surrency, that charge was removed, and I appreciate her responsiveness in resolving that portion. Transparency and full cost disclosure are essential in healthcare. Based on this experience, I cannot in good faith recommend PHDermatology.
