My first visit for an "overall" body check in years. All seemed good in my first visit at the Ellenton location. The office is on the "backside" of the building for starters. Knowing this ahead of time, will make your first visit SO much easier, especially if it's rain8ng. There is plenty of free park8ng. I am giving them a 4 rating right now because with this type of business, an additional visit or two will give me a better understanding of who rgey are and the quality of their work. Ratings here matter. The overall succe ess of a business here matters. I will need a few additional visits to give a fair assessment. I am very pleased with the people thus far... I would say if you have a common skin issue, then yes, this place may be for you. However, I had an uncommon skin problem that I tried explaining to the medical assistant, nurse AND doctor, and all of them dismissed me as having sensory hallucinations, even though I have physical issues that can CLEARLY be seen. Once they had it in their heads that I was crazy, they pretty much ignored what I was showing them. They passed off my problem as "stretch marks," but they weren't looking beyond that. I wasn't referring to my stretch marks. They kept referring to my problem as "a sensation." No, not a sensation. My problem is real, and I was quite offended and disappointed in a doctor's office I thought I could confide in. Now my problem still exists and I may need to get a second or third opinion. Because apparently they want to put me on a strange medication and they wouldn't tell me what it was called. Was it a psychiatric medication? A dermatologist prescribing a psych med? Who's the crazy one? Not me. Just because a doctor hasn't seen it before, it doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Stop being so arrogant. Maybe do some tests before being so quick to say something is all in their head. read more

I have been here twice for two different issues. On both occasions I had to advocate for my needs. I do not feel this is the place for me and am going to make an appointment elsewhere for help with the most recent concern that has yet to be properly addressed. This is a very busy office but I feel it's a high volume money office with lack of personal attention or follow through.three calls to discuss blood work only to be told by a non clinical person to continue on a medication I was never on. When I informed her of this she said make another appointment. Why? So you guys can bill my insurance again?! You're doing nothing for me yet again. As a healthcare provider myself, I do not have any desire to continue with this office and plan to make an appointment elsewhere. I do not recommend. read more

I have been a patient for 13 months and have been treated for the same condition. Two days ago, Dr. Before joined and proceeded to blatantly lie about the areas on the body that my condition can affect. She was refusing to believe I still suffered from this condition despite extensive treatment. I asked her if there was another oral medication that is used for treatment. Again, she lied stating there was not, when in fact there sure is. Another lie. Then she pointed out that antipsychotics could help rid this condition and she wanted to speak to one of my other clinicians regarding prescribing this class of medications to help treat my condition, when in fact she was secretly alluding to the fact that I am delusional about still having this condition and hallucinating. This same practice of unethical providers billed my Medicare fraudulently for an appointment I did not go to. It's a shame that there are medical professionals or so they're called violating so many of the Hippocratic oaths! read more

I had a service performed on February 6, 2025. They advised my insurance didn't cover the treatment. I paid $234.56. I then received notification that United Healthcare paid them. I called the billing office to inquire and the fellow Mike told me he was eating lunch and to call back in 15 minutes. I did and received no satisfaction. I sent them a letter on March 28, and received no reply. I still have not received the overpayment. As suggested by Congressman Greg Steube I have contacted the Elder Care in Tallahassee for their assistance. Be aware of there billing practices. read more

This place is fantastic! I moved here from OC, California and several local to Florida FB ladies group recommended it. Very professional, welcoming, and very thorough. I had a skin check, from Rachel the PA. She was friendly, comforting, and extremely thorough. You could tell she was passionate about skin cancer with excellent communication skills. I did have to return for 2 procedures to remove precancerous on my face. It was red light therapy, and I'm extremely happy with the results. The healing went very quickly and turned out beautifully. This office practice is quality care, the best of the best, I have ever been to. read more

I had been with Dermatology Associates for many years until recently. Except for Dr. Neff, who does excellent MOHS surgeries, I would not recommend seeing another staff physician or dealing with the office staff. The office staff is very difficult to contact; you have to leave a message and you never know if and when you will get a return call. Consequently, telephone tag. Recently, I have felt like a piece of meat that was being cut open. I felt little compassion from the staff who I experienced as cold and robotic. I thought the system was proprietary, in that another doctor would not treat you and the treating doctor did not collaborate with me in terms of treatment. A MOHS would have been appropriate for my growing skin cancers, but that was not considered. The physician was authoritarian in terms of scheduling. I asked for, but have not received my complete medical records. I recommend staying away from this practice and going to Riverchase Dermatology instead. read more

I have been a patient at Dermatology Associates for several years. Dr. Bedi and the entire staff are always pleasant, helpful and highly efficient. Dr. Bedi is a fantastic person and diagnostician. She has treated me for serious and minor issues. I have also been treated by a few of the physician assistants in the office, encountering equally the highest level of professionalism and care. I have personally recomeneded this practice to my friends. Rest assured, you will receive the best care. read more

That was the worst experience. The office called me in the morning and said that I need an authorization from my PCP. I contacted my insurance prior and they made it very clear the referral is not needed. I told them I don't need it and they never called me back. At the medical office I spent a ton of time on the phone with my insurance and their supervisor was ready to talk to the office staff. He left reference number and waited on the line to talk to anyone from the office. They refused to call nor were interested in solving the issue. I was told a bunch of times that I can PAY CASH today or need a referral. They did't care about anything but me paying cash. Would have been so simple to make that phone call. I explained I waited for weeks for this appointment and had to arrange for my 16 months old son to stay home with babysitter. Just to be told in a very angry agressive manner I'm not the only one person with a kid. In addition billing department representative stormed into the conversation almost screaming I must pay cash if I am to have my appointment or leave immediately and come back with referral. I don't believe a quality doctor can be represented by such behavior. This is my first bad review ever. read more

Dr. Anna Heck is the absolute BEST dermatologist I have ever went to. She is so kind, smart and really cares for her patient. She knows all their is to know about her field.......and then some! Initial exam, referral by PCP for annual check. Lakewood Ranch office -- very cramped, dirty exam room, no one sanitized their hands that I could see. Was given a torn paper gown. Sat there for a while near naked. Male tech and MD spent no more than 5 minutes with me -- very rushed. My skin is in good condition, so the exam was perfunctory and minimal. The most inadequate impersonal annual skin check up I've had. read more

I have traditional Medicare and Supplemental Ins. and had no problem. In fact, the consultation was complimentary. The offices were clean, the doctors board certified. The staff was polite.The pre-cancerous lesion I had was zapped with a freezing compound. From previous experience with insurance companies, I will trust a doctor before I trust any insurance company. If you don't have a referral and the doctor accepts you without one, it could get nasty down the road when a big bill is due and the insurance company won't pay. The doctors have to protect themselves. read more
