Multiple texts and calls to confirm my appointment, when I walk in the front desk told me the doctor left and my appointment was canceled.

They have a non refundable deposit for a consultation visit. I was told twice it was refundable even if services were not scheduled. We have used them twice for our annual visits. The $50 deposit is not refundable and should be stated as such to patients. I feel ripped off. I was going to schedule service after discussing my treatment options with my spouse but when they did not stand behind their word I don't see how I can trust them. read more

It is unfortunate that the front staff is so poor. After making an appointment weeks in advance, and filling out all paperwork, and providing insurance, I arrived to be told that they were in fact NOT in-network with my insurance YET! So I wasted time waiting for an appointment when they knew they were not in-network. Were they hoping to be in network by my appointment but did not tell? Something happened to the doctors at this practice during the pandemic. Went to an appointment after explaining my problem clearly to the person making the appointment, who clearly put the info in the calendar appointment. Doctor comes in saying "this is the problem you are coming in for?" I say yes. She says "can't help you with that.". Uhm... you helped me with that problem before the pandemic but now you can't?! Nope. She turns around and leaves 5 minutes after coming in and bills my insurance for the appointment. Lazy doctor wanting to charge for doing nothing. Done with them. read more

Arrived for appointment, returned to my car to get a mask for entry. Waited for receptionist to check me in, was given paper work to fill out. Was completing the forms and was told I arrived "15 minutes late"and they wouldn't honor the appointment. I got in my car, and checked the time. They had my email and phone number wrong. Put all the blame on me as a new customer. The clerk at the desk stated I didn't fill out all the paper work. Which I thought I did complete last night. So according to them I'm "late" because in their minds I was suppose to be there 15 mins before to do the paper work. If they had all my information correctly they could have contacted me, but they didn't even try. Appointment was 10:15 and I was talking to them at 10:17 What a joke. At least take the blame for not having the correct information and apologize instead of blaming a new customer. Poor customer service. read more

Arrived for my appointment on time and was turned away for not having paperwork filled out prior. Apparently this takes "30mins to complete" and that would put them behind schedule. I would have accepted them apologizing for the inconvenience but I was made to feel like I was the problem and they were doing me a favor. Not to mention the lady at the front desk was rude. Apparently business is good and common customer courtesy is not needed. Very disappointing. read more

I have been a patient since they first opened their office. Dr. Pennie has impeccable credentials and she is the absolute BEST Dermatologist this 80 year old guy has ever encountered. The bright spot in this office is Clio Mason. She provides for a friendly and very happy office atmosphere. Clio always has a smile and remembers the patients names. She is one of the most personable, friendly, kind and caring individuals I have ever known. read more

Premier prices for subpar service. No one answers the office phone which I find fascinating and there is no where to park as the lot is over capacity. The front desk staff told me all the things they won't do instead of offering solutions. Interesting business model, but it's a no for me. read more

This office is a great size! It's also very clean and organized. This is the first dermatology place I've been too and it was a great first experience. I came for an issue I had with acne, and wow did I learn a lot. My acne has gotten extremely better thanks to the doctors who helped me and taught me a lot. The staff is very friendly and caring. I was with Dr. Jenny Prost and she was absolutely amazing. She was very understanding and helpful. She also recommended me to the offices medical aesthetician Lily Volpert who was also amazing! They both helped me find ways to treat my acne so I'm extremely happy I came here. read more

I recently switched to Paradise Dermatology Sarasota office and have been more than pleased. I see Dr. Duggan for my skin checks and concerns, she has been fantastic. I spoke with Dr. Duggan about the severe discoloration on my neck and she recommended I I make an appointment with the MedSpa side of the office. I met with Alex and she set up a laser treatment plan to help. I have had 2 out of the 3 treatments and I am so happy with the results. Alex has been excellent to work with, she is very knowledgeable and is good at assessing what would work best for your skin. It's great to use a dermatologist's office that offer's alternative treatments to help with various skin problems. Everyone in the office is attentive and helpful and I am happy to be one of their patients. read more

If you're a resident, or a snowbird, this is Florida and you will need a dermatologist. I left a great dermatologist in CT and it took a while before I settled on Penne Dermatology. I like everyone in the office and the entire staff. Usually I see Ms. Norman, one of the PA's, and have been pleased with her work and her care regarding my needs. The office has expanded adding PA's and has moved recently to a Clark Road address. Unfortunately, a byproduct of living here, or visiting, is a variety of skin eruptions, some serious, think skin cancer, and some just unattractive like skin tags. I had some early skin cancers that were caught and eliminated and I healed quite nicely where they were removed. I think of it more as though they were dug out. I was cautioned it might be a bit unpleasant, and it was momentarily, but you can't argue with results. And for the hesitant among you, everything was numbed before any procedures were started. When you visit, any questionable areas are photographed so a record can be established to follow any future changes. The practice offers, I believe, a variety of cosmetic services and products; but I am a guy and such is not my concern. But if you are looking at yourself, or if your spouse has cast an eye on something they don't like the look of and decides you had better see a dermatologist, then I believe you will be pleased with Paradise Dermatology. i WENT TO THIS DERMATOLOGY Clinic because I had Sun Spots that I thought might be Melanoma. Dr Duggan was excellent, as was her Assistant. Two Biopsies were taken and I was told I would be called in two weeks by a Nurse or Doctor and explained the results. Instead I receive an email to join their Portal and find out what new information was posted to my name? I never even knew such a portal existed, was never informed to create an account. Needless to say my entire diagnosis was posted on my portal page. I was never called, never ever contacted by anyone in the office of my results. I am deeply disappointed in the very unprofessional way in which a patient finds out their outcome, not through their Doctor or another Doctor or a Nurse or an Assistant, but rather through going into my computer to create an account and finding out "RESULTS". Which by the way, I didn't even understand the diagnoses.. I had to look up on a search engine to understand what I was being told. This is the very worse way you could treat a patient. I am in total shock that on top of this, their office is closed on Friday so there was no one to speak with regarding this very low disregard for my health and my life. Richard Unger read more

Dr. Pennie has an impressive education and extensive training in Dermatology, so I chose her for my annual skin exam. Due to multiple moves, I have seen several different dermatologists over the years. Dr. Pennie is the first doctor to perform a truly thorough review of my skin and actually address my concerns. I also liked that she had her assistant with her during the exam who also offered helpful tips for my skin, and it seemed like they worked very well together. It appears that her staff works together nicely as a team. The only downside I have experienced is that sometimes my appointments have been rushed, and I would appreciate more time spent answering my questions. Overall, I have been very satisfied with Dr. Pennie's care and expertise. read more

I have lived in Florida for 20 years and still have not become accustomed to finding wonderful businesses tucked into so-so neighborhoods, and true to that is Paradise Dermatology on Clark Road. Outside it has a good size parking lot, inside it is bright, cleanlined and modern looking. The individual patient rooms are similar. Every staff person encountered had a smile and greeted me warmly on my first visit. Dr. Pennie was efficient, gave me options to avoid scars from treatment, and has a gentle air about her. I mention that because two others I have seen in town were rather brusque. I recommend her based on one visit. I had wanted to consult as well about skin retexturing on my face and I did stress that when I made my appointment, but for that the assistant briefly mentioned "facials" and I was given some brochures about the "esthetician" on staff. I will have to keep exploring to find what I am looking for in that regard. read more

Have been a patient of this practice for 3 years. Today, I went for the annual appointment I scheduled last year and was told that I did not have an appointment because Dr. Durbin was not yet a member of the Aetna network. I never had an appointment with Dr. Durbin, never heard of Dr. Durbin and it wasn't even the year to see a "Dr." but the PA. I was told a message was left for me in June, telling me Dr. Durbin was not a member of Aetna and the appointment would have to be rescheduled. Why would I respond to a message about a Dr. I never heard of? This practice made a medical decision for me to change my physician without my consent or input. I can only assume that Dr. Pennie was pushing off patients who do not buy extra services to the new Dr. I guess I just wasn't worthy since I only go once a year for an annual check. Lucky to have no issues but my fortune is not a reason for any physician or a physician's office to make a treatment decision for me without my input. read more
