After missing our closing date twice, due to "missing" documents and failing to forward them to other departments, our Title Company and Realtor advised us to switch lenders. My business partner and I stuck through it, which ended up costing us money, upsetting the Seller and delaying everybody in the process. The communication was so poor, we went in to speak with the Branch Manager. After he failed to return my follow-up email, we went up the ladder to the National Customer Service department. After discussing with that staff, they said they would call me back in the following week. Two weeks later, I called them and complained again. The following day they sent an email saying they were sorry for the delay, but they essentially did the best they could. I generally do not write complaints, but this experience was awful and the lack of professionalism was unacceptable.I will be writing to the BBB and posting on Facebook, and any other reputable business that tracks the quality levels of businesses. This is not exaggerated by any means. I have kept all emails and a phone log, and submitted this as a timeline for review to Waterstone.

Their website was down, I couldn't use the automatic phone payments so I attempted to call the company itself as I had no other way of paying. I was answered with someone who wanted to charge $9 for taking a payment even though my other "cheaper or free" options were taken away from me. They would not waive said fee, and overall were of no help. Aside from that their phones must be from the 90's as it sounded like they were speaking through a tunnel with sand being sprinkled into the microphone.

Very unprofessional. I was told that a COO or President would be contacting me back. That follow up did not happen. Since my original inquiry on the file, the updates have been slow (contact them on Monday and they respond on Wednesday) and the file has still not been sent to USDA..... This is the least sense of urgency of any lending company I have dealt with. Even at crunch time there is no increase in focus on the file. No ownership - lack of communication. Apparent lack of follow up - poor file review - I guess they don't know what the underwriter is going to ask for and it is customary for the file to be sent to underwriting review multiple times - each with a 48 hour review time. I am guessing they do not have their own underwriters and are at the mercy of some 3rd party to do their underwriting. - This is a horrible experience. Have you ever been in a parking lot waiting to back out of your parking stall? Do you know how you feel when a pedestrian is walking behind you and you are stuck. Most pedestrians realize that you are waiting on them so they put a little pep in their step for the appropriate period of time. You really don't mind waiting for those people because there is a shared sense of cooperation. And how do you feel when the people walking behind your car walk slower or take the longest route possible when they see that you are waiting on them? It is frustrating because they clearly know that you are imprisoned in this parking space until they move. You are at their mercy and they clearly do not care about your goals. This is how I feel working with GSF. They know they are holding up multiple closings on a stacked (domino) closing and yet their process has become even slower. I wouldn't use them for any file where you feel like your buyers would want to close on time. I wouldn't let a buyer use them on any house you have listed just to protect your seller from this mess.

My lender and assistant disappeared for a week in the middle of processing my important documents on a Homeloan. Word on the street Covid-19 visited the office. My lender claimed to be out of town, or was it Covid-19 honesty and a warning of being out of the office would have been appreciated. I was abandoned by them for a week with no email, no call and no text!! Acceptable? Hell no! In fact the incompetent lender and his assistant costed me to suffer a loss of more than $1800.00 and the loss of the property I wanted for my teenage daughter and I!! Pathetic!!!

Some of the brokers gave figures that turned out to be too good to be true. Others gave us figures that made us question whether we could even afford a home. We worked with Rachel Wieland, who was absolutely fantastic. She didn't just sell us a mortgage. She asked us all the right questions and set up a great loan that was geared toward what we wanted to accomplish. If we had any questions, Rachel was there to answer them, and she got back to us quickly. She even provided a way to contact her after hours if something important came up that required immediate attention. She explained the entire process to us start to finish and when we closed, there were absolutely no surprises at all. Rachel was a great guide. We did compare terms, closing costs and other fees with the other firms that contacted us, and Wisconsin Mortgage Group offered the best bang for the buck, including the interest rate. I've purchased several homes in my life, obtaining this mortgage was the least stressful yet. I absolutely recommend Wisconsin Mortgage Group and especially Rachel Wieland. Cheers!

I'll be honest, the mortgage world was all new to me during these times, so I've had many questions along the way. Sandi's never hesitated to take my calls or respond to all of my emailed questions. Happy to say we ended up on our home at an acceptable rate (in this economy anyway). Most recently, I reached out to her to chat about refinance options, PMI removal inquiry, and a few other things. Again, always quick to respond and help navigate best financial options in these scenarios. Certainly very knowledgeable and professional. Also just really friendly and easy to talk to, never making me feel dumb for all of my silly questions :)
