This is my first semester where a school does not provide enough furniture for the amount of students in a class. RIDICULOUS! Longwood wonders why their student numbers are going down.... If it was not for the close location from my house and the inability to transfer my classes to another close school due to my major then I would change schools. My advice is to save your money and go to a school that has Professors who care for the students, staff that is helpful with serious matters and don't turn a cheek when a matter is reported, and a school that provides the proper amount of desks for students in a classroom! D Hall food is very bland and disgusting. The food choices at Longwood is limited and there isn't much that surrounds FarmVille to eat off campus. Safety at Longwood is very sketchy to the point of car break ins with windows being smashed in in broad daylight. The overall atmosphere is sketchy and I very rarely see police officers anywhere on the grounds to help reduce these matters.

I had some apprehensions given the museum's funding sources included some corporate donors, but whatever process went into it, the final result appeared to me to be quality curation. What sets the museum apart its is specificity and reliance on primary sources. There are plenty of generic civil rights museums, but this one gives a clear impression of time and place. The primary source documentation sets forth some ugly sentiments; anyone who thinks that Virginia is not the Deep South is likely in for a rude awakening, but it also illuminates a variety of perspectives that don't mesh well with contemporary social commentary. The students here, many of whom were alive long enough to make it into the introductory movie, set forth a vision of egalitarianism and devotion to excellence. One of them compares the planning of the civil disobedience here to the Manhattan Project in its secrecy and single-minded commitment, a striking analogy. It is not a huge place (indeed, the fact that the school was too small for the student body is kind of the point), but I spent easily over an hour perusing the content even without a tour or special event. There is no charge to enter and the gift shop was not running when I dropped in, but a donation bin was open and I was more than happy to leave something.

This review was for the university of Virginia against liberty University football game on November…read more10, 2018. The game was pretty exciting with Liberty Univ. to a quick lead and UVA coming back to match the score and lead the game and overwhelming the smaller school. To start with the review of the stadium parking can be tricky. There are several options however if you want to get close to the stadium I'd recommend getting there nice and early along with the tailgaters. There will be a charge of $15 for the event which to me seems very reasonable. We did not get there early due to unforeseen circumstances. If you want to go the unconventional route and use people's front yards driveways etc. the cost will go up but we didn't see any parking more than $20. We parked out by John Paul Jones stadium which was free. The caveat was you had to walk. The walk was approximately 1.5 miles and can be tricky in the dark. As for the stadium. We wanted to be near our daughter and got 15 dollar general admission tickets. Shockingly the tickets were close to the field on a corner. No assigned seats, they were near the band. No problem. Students well behaved. The view was great. Only thing here is you really have to stand throughout the game. If you want to sit. I would recommend more expensive tickets with assigned seats. Now the seats are bleacher style, so if your rear end is aged like mine bring a cushion or blanket. The students were into it and like I mentioned well behaved. Cool listening to the school fight song after a score. This is an easy five stars.

I wish I could add negative stars! Scott Stadium is HORRIBLE in almost every way. To start, parking…read morein Charlottesville for events is disgusting. Don't build a stadium that can hold such a large capacity if you aren't able to support the amount of people in the nearby town. If there aren't enough parking garages or options, maybe that should be known before hosting an event of such capacity (Luke Combs in 2026). All of the lots sold out ahead of time and the prices were astronomical. It was so pitiful and sad to see elderly people, disabled people, intoxicated girls, families, etc. all walking over an hour + away to their car that they also had to pay $80+ for in order to park...digusting! Everyone was already tired and feet hurt from the show, so to have to park that far away, have no police helping with traffic so then have to walk more than an hour to just sit in traffic and have no support from the town to make it more efficient. Next...the fact that most lots advertised as having a 'shuttle' but then only actually having 2 buses for probably 60k people is madness. They should have used all campus and town buses, hired additional help from third party services, etc. If you are charging that much money and then selling it as 'oh well it comes with a shuttle' but only if you are on one of the 2 buses that goes out instantly, because if not the buses aren't looping back around and you will end up being stuck on the side of the road for 2 hours as you desperately hope there will be another one soon and maybe it is just stuck in traffic....Horrible planning, Charlottesville! On top of that, the shuttles ended before midnight, so everyone that was still in line was waiting and waiting for a bus that was never going to come, without any warning. The bus actually may have stopped at 11 which if the concert ended at 10:45 and everyone cleared out by 11, that doesn't even give enough time for anyone to use it..Then, I asked probably 30 different RMC staff members in different parking lots to help direct me to one and not a single one knew how I could find it or could tell me any information. They were all uneducated on what was going on and had not been informed on anything. As I got to the stadium, I asked multiple RMC and venue staff members for direction on the Box Office, box office hours, etc. and not a single person could direct me to it either or help in anyway. Nobody knew what was going on, where things were, or what was happening that day. It seemed like there was no use in employing all of these people if nobody knew what was going on. NEXT let me tell you about the worst planning of it all. I was fortunate enough to thankfully have the opportunity to have gotten pit tickets as well as tickets along the lower bowl. Even though I was inches away from the staircase to the floor/pit, I walked down without anyone saying anything to me since I had a bracelet to allow me to go back and forth. I walked down, and then when trying to come back to my seat they wouldn't let me. They said the only way to get up there was to walk alllllll the way around the ENTIRE stadium. To do that, it takes 45 minutes. I know because I had to do that when I entered and even though I was practically running, it took that long to get through the crowd and I ended up missing an entire opening act! To tell me to go ALL the way around the stadium when I had a front row chair next to the staircase on the aisle is outrageous! The most stupid thing I have ever heard! The point of having this is so I could dance with my mom on the floor without blocking peoples view specifically because I jump around, and then when we wanted to sit for openers and for slow parts, etc. we'd have the ability to do so. I know that is rare so I am very fortunuate to have gotten those tickets, but to not have a backup plan or make an exception for that situation and just assume everyone who has floor tickets only have floor tickets and the staircases on the sides are off limits to everyone......is stupid for the people who actually have a use for them and spent all that money to be there!!! We didn't even end up being able to use the floor tickets because it isn't like we were about to walk the entire perimiter of the venue when we wanted to go back to our seat, we'd miss the whole show!! It would be pointless! Then on top of that, the point of having seats is to take a break and sit down when needed, so by making you walk a massive staircase and then go all the way around the whole venue, cut across multiple sold out sections, go down the entire staircase of that section, all to your front row chair that was 4 feet away from where you were standing is the dumbest thing I have ever heard. UVA likes to pride themselves on being smart but this was the worst event planning and logistics I have ever seen. Take notes, UVA and Charlottesville! Do better!! About everything honestly, it all needs work!!!!
