Southern Eye Care - The Bifocal Line is in the Center of my Vision, and there's an air gap between the frame and lenses but luckily these didn't fall out.

The Absolute Worst…read more Steer Clear! When I called recently, assuming my expensive lenses were covered, they told me there's only a 90 day warranty on Essilor transitions that delaminated and I had waited too long. IMPORTANT Buy "Transition" Brand, don't be duped. In January I had contacted VSP because the lenses in three pairs of glasses I'd had made at this provider, including an expensive pair with a delamination issue, were ground too small for the frames so they just fell out. I was going to cancel their vision insurance policy because I couldn't have been more disappointed. The VSP representative promised to help resolve any issues but asked that I contact Southern Eye and give them a chance to address my issues so I would be a satisfied customer, and I agreed to give it a shot, but then I was hospitalized and everything moved to the back burner. After a long illness last year and delays due to covid, I did have heart surgery and I'm on the mend. Once I could handle stress better I contacted the office manager as instructed, but she only offered to glue the lenses back in my Italian Frames!! Glue? 3 defective pairs of glasses out of 4 that I shelled out hundreds for, even though I used 2 sets of my own frames and the VSP discounts, and glue is her resolution to my problem? Why not make lenses that fit, like every pair of glasses I've had made in the past 44 years? Their horrid workmanship was unlike anything I've ever experienced. Another VSP network provider I visited yesterday couldn't believe what she was looking at and she has returned their work to VSP for examination since Southern Eye just argued with me after I called. As I stated before, VSP had recommended that I call Southern Eye back in January when I contacted them about those issues, but then I had to have heart surgery on the 21st. The office manager gave me grief about waiting for just over a year to call, ignoring the fact that I was gravely ill in 2020, still 1600 miles away, and I'd been hospitalized for heart surgery. Two pairs of glasses were mailed to me but not via Priority mail that I paid extra for, because they weren't ready when I left town, so they didn't arrive until late February. VSP does have a record of my calls and complaints and they're taking action on my behalf because I did call back yesterday after I saw the local VSP provider. My eyes were opened a lot yesterday because I also discovered Essilor lenses have a 1 year warranty if sent to the VSP lab, but Southern Eye ground them in house. Either they don't have good equipment or people doing the work don't know how to properly use the equipment. They don't just pop out, some lenses have a jagged edge on the bottom too! Ridiculous! Also, they ignore requests to place the height of the lined bifocals where the customer wants it, so the one pair that isn't a total disaster hurts my neck because I have to look over the bifocals by tipping my head down so far my chin nearly touches my chest, unless I wear them on the tip of my nose. I finally just hung up on the office manager because VSP told me to contact them again if their provider didn't take care of me to my satisfaction, but to try to work it out with Southern Eye of Clinton first. I was told that they hold their providers to a very high standard and this will be addressed. We'll see! I'm 1600 miles away and I had planned to return sooner and walk in their location and show them what I was dealing with, so they could also see three pairs had literally been unused and they were in the same condition that they were in when they arrived. Two pairs were worn 5 times each, if that many. I'll attach photos! I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy because I have glasses that I wasn't able to wear due to the frequency of the lenses hitting the floor, and the left prescription was off because the so called eye doctor second guessed herself and changed my prescription after the examination was over! There was only a slight adjustment needed to the left eye that was off in all 4 pairs for the past year, so had they been made right I wouldn't have needed to spend money to make changes since it's not significant, but I had to replace the lenses that were separating and falling out in the pair that was supposed to be my primary and favorite pair. Yesterday I spent more money having the lenses replaced in the pair that had the expensive lenses that separated, because they looked like a 56 ford windshield in an Arizona junkyard. I want to be reimbursed for the pair that I have just sent to VSP to be redone at the very least, because that's what I feel would be fair. If VSP and Southern Eye fail to help then I will continue to seek out ways to force provider accountability with all means at my disposal including the chamber of commerce, the better business bureau, healthgrades and any review forum or applicable blog, because I do have the power of the pen! Consumers Have Rights!
