Nice Italian style restaurant serving freshly prepared pizza and pasta dishes, but with an additional grill menu.
It's located in the Slaughterhouse building in the Royal William Yard in Stonehouse (for those not familiar with the area, the Royal William Yard is a former Royal Naval victualling Yard, built in an elegant Classical style in 1835, and now a Grade I listed complex of apartments, restaurants and businesses).
The room itself is large and airy with a very high ceiling - think shabby chic warehouse, and you're pretty much there. There's a long bar and a casual seating area along with the main dining area.
The menu is strongly Italian themed, so a nice selection of pizza and pasta, risotto, salad and grilled items (steaks, burgers and fish).
We had the Tagliatelle Norma (veggie), a delicious mix of chilli, garlic, tomatoes, smoked aubergine, basil and riserva cheese; and a generous classic cheeseburger.
Starters are £3.50 (olives) - £7.25 (garlic tiger prawns); mains £8.95-£17.25, averaging around £12.50. There's a decent selection of beers and wine. Service was good and friendly on our visit: I'd happily return. read more
