Hunting for a place to grab lunch with friends during a recent trip to Plymouth, I noticed the large painted sign from across the barbican: 'Pizza, pies, cider'.
Yup, they got us immediately!
The interior of the restaurant is light and airy, with large wooden tables and bench seating - perfect for groups. I went for the longhorn pizza - topped with enormous amounts of ground beef and delicious chunks of local salami, washed down with a Seafarer's ale. Delicious. My other half went for a steak pie - happy to see this was a proper, fully enclosed pie, not a 'lidded stew'! He was very happy with both this and his cider. Our only regret was that we were off to a gin tasting so couldn't really sample any more of the large range of ciders on tap!
Would definitely go back - the ploughmans looked awesome and I quite fancy the 'flight' of ciders that was on offer! read more
