came here to get an Ashley piercing. I got my second one put in after I had the healing bar in. that piercing fell out because it was not properly put on. I was putting on my lipgloss and it fell out of my mouth. I went back to this place to get it put back in. while I was eating, that one fell out too. I understand the first mistake. But it kept happening. I am not ever coming to this place again. I went through a whole healing process for no reason. Now I have to re-pierce this.this has me fuming. i am extremely upset with my experience. i originally wrote a review just about the lady's quality of work, but after my ears started profusely bleeding i decided to edit my review. i came here to get my helix and lobes (3rds) done. i don't have the highest pain tolerance but i wasn't the happiest when she got done with my ears. my piercers name was brittany and i was very anxious and it felt like she was rushing the whole time she was piercing me. she wasn't careful at all when putting the backs on my ears and you could tell i was visibly in pain. after i waited the 45 minutes, i loosened the back like she told me too and when i got done, i saw a little bit of blood on my fingers. at the start i wasn't startled all that much but when i opened the camera on my phone and saw that my ear was dripping blood all the way down my brand new sweatshirt, i started to become frantic. i am not happy in the slightest and i don't recommend this place if you want your experience to be assuring and blood- free. $100 wasted. read more

I was in town to drop off my son to college and decided to get a last minute tattoo here at Iowa. I called multiple places and wasn't able to take us in. I came across Wildside Tattoo on Yelp and gave them a call. Thank God I did! As soon as I walked in, the first thing I noticed was the cleanliness of this shop and the friendly employees! Our We met the most nicest and chill tattoo artist Blue. Although he wasn't able to accommodate me that late afternoon, he was able to do my daughter in laws tattoo. He knew that we were just visiting from CA and our flight was the next day soooooo he told me to come in at 7 am the next day to get my tattoo done before I leave. I was so HAPPY!!! If I could give ZERO stars I would!!! I walked in wanting to get a piercing and talked to Megan who already seemed annoyed to be helping me in the first place!! AND smelled like she had been getting high before work!! I wasn't sure which piercing I wanted and tried to ask her which she'd recommend out of the few I'd thought of and she told me if I didn't know what I was doing why was I even here?! I was very upset by this point but just wanted to be done so I told her I'd just do my nose. When I saw her grab the tools they didn't look clean or new at all and she was handling them with her BARE HANDS when I hadn't seen her wash at all!! I asked her to please put on gloves so I felt more comfortable and she just scoffed, at this point, I was done! I got up and stormed out! Unsanitary and untrained piercers. The woman who pierced my nose was obviously the daughter of the owner. She pierced a spider vein on my nose and made me bleed everywhere she then did not apologize and attempted to stop the bleeding with dirty paper towel. I asked for the owner to pierce me instead and was given attitude. Since I'd lost a lot of blood I fainted the second go around which the owner expressed happens often in her shop. It of course immediately got infected so when I went to go back and get a refund or even get re pierced I was then called a bitch to my face by the woman. They offered absolutely nothing to help with my medical costs or the terrible piercing they gave me. The shop is dirty and filled with culturally approbative kitschy decor. Don't bother getting pierced here unless you'd like a keloid and infection. read more

Booked a tattoo appointment ahead of time.. canceled ahead of time too. Nothing against the artist, but I cannot give an establishment business if they let employee Karens run around, screaming about how they don't need to wear a mask. I get it, you're expressing your own opinion but you clearly have no respect for the number of people you're in close contact with daily. Also how uncomfortable it was to watch her go on a torrent while everyone else in the room was just wearing a damn mask. When I called in with well more than 48 hours notice, the woman answering the phone claimed that I "wasn't getting my money back". I explained that I never put money down, requirement or not.. I was never asked to. She continued to be confused until I think she realized that and told me that she canceled it. I have gone here multiple times with great experiences, now I'm just disappointed. :( read more

I went for my nipple piercings. And everything was great. I was very nervous and I think the piercer was nervous also. She was very young. I went home for spring break while they were healing and something didn't feel right. So I went to my piercer in Chicago, and he told me they were pierced incorrectly. The piercing went through my areola and not my nipples. He told me they may never heal so I should take them out. So I did. I called Wildside, and informed them about what happened. All I was told is "sorry that happened, I don't know what else to do." Very very unhappy overall. read more

My daughter got snake eyes piercing and it was done crooked. Lady didn't even say anything and she obviously knew it because amount owed all of a sudden dropped by $5. Thought whatever, it happens and maybe lady just had an off day (we've been going to Wildside for years). One of the balls fell off so we went in to get a replacement bar and got attitude from same girl that did the crooked piercing. She proceeded to complain about customers like "us" to a man that was there. She used to be very courteous and put together nicely. Now she's just a cranky, sloppy employee that doesn't care about customer service at all. This last time was the final nail in the coffin. Don't be complaining about customers to other people especially right in front of said customer. You don't like your job, quit so they can find someone that does. I have beed going here since i was 13 one of the piercers the one I've happened yo get pierced by the most is really sweet. Megan on the other hand degraded me when i called in saying that my belly piercing wasn't healing correctly due to the fact I think it was placed wrong (accidents happen) i was trying to be understanding. I have gone to Wildside tattooing since I was 18 and am 29 now. Up until the last 2 visits everything seemed up to par, unfortunately the person who greats you, is very abrasive and not friendly at all. Instead of explaining something to you, she is just blunt and cold. She acts as tho she would rather be somewhere else. I don't know if it's just certain people she treats this way, or if it's everyone, but I no longer feel comfortable inside the establishment. Also the majority of the staff werebwearing mask (we are in a pandemic) but the person who talks to you within 2-3 feet doesn't wear one? Ok, it's not a political statement it is a health statement. Unfortunately with the lack of customer service or friendly interaction I no longer will be going to Wildside and will not recommend or bring my family in for piercing or tattoo needs. read more

Horrid experience. Lady bragged how she knew how to do snake eyes. (Tip of toungue) pierced it entirely crooked. Her coworkers then were short with me saying that I as a customer cannot decide that it's crooked. Came in she looked at it immediately yep it's crooked. I took my daughter here to see about doing a tattoo, the person who greeted us at the door was very friendly and showed us to the counter to talk to Mark. He is the very unprofessional and rude. First he ignored us completely and kept walking by like we wasn't there, then when the greeter saw we was still standing at the counter he went and let him know we was there to set up a appointment and instead of helping us he went and made himself a plate of food and sat in the front area and proceeded to eat. There wasn't anyone else around to help so we stood there for 20 minutes waiting to be helped. When he finally came to the counter to help us his attitude was terrible and he made it very clear he didn't want to help us. I told my daughter let's leave and we went to Neon Dragon. Neon Dragon will get all of our business from now on, we will never go back to Wildside! read more

I recently received a piercing at this shop and was very disappointed with my service. First of all, they were not very hospitable, the woman who did my piercing was not rude however the man that was there was really off putting and not welcoming at all and even though the piercer was nice she didn't say anything to me after it was done just asked me to pay. She didn't tell me about aftercare or anything with the exception of telling me what to use to clean it after I asked. Other than that nothing. On top of that it was pierced incorrectly. It was pierced too low and crooked but right after I got it done I didn't think anything of it because she didn't tell me anything and I just assumed it was due to the swelling despite knowing what it was supposed to look like because I figured as a professional she would tell me if it was wrong. Clearly not the case. The top ball of my vertical labret piercing started to go into my lip so I got worried and visited another piercer for a longer bar where I found out it was pierced incorrectly. Not only that but when I called them to tell them they seemed like they didn't care and just said they could repierce it, which I appreciated, but I do not want to return there after the experience I had & would rather have gotten my money back which they wouldn't do. read more

I've only been pierced here but all four experiences were great. She was very gentle and was very quick. She calmed my nerves and was very understanding and companionate. She told me what it would feel like and she was exactly right. The prices are incredibly reasonable and I have never had any complications with the jewelry. I have gotten both a tattoo and a nose piercing at Wildside, but I won't be back. The tattoo was handled professionally, but not with care. The employees treated us like outsiders because we were three girls and apparently didn't look like the "tattoo type." My nose was pierced with a cheap silver and resulted in over a year of infections before I finally took it out and now have a permanent blue/purple dot where my piercing is. Do NOT get your nose pierced here. When I emailed the owner for advice she replied, "I would go see a dermatologist, honey." Not worth your money. read more

I love Wildside tattoo and body piercing. I had my 5 year old daughters ears pierced here and love most of the people at this shop. But I am very unhappy with the racist comments, jokes, and hand gestures that I had to witness when my 19 year old daughter got a tattoo. She was tattooed by a young man named Josh (I believe he is the owners son). My daughter loves his art work (she has been tattooed by him multiple times) but warned me when we went in the room that there may be racist comments. I had to listen to stories about "the blacks", "muslims", "jews", "mexicans", and he even taught my daughter the hand gesture for white power. I made it clear to this young man that I was not impressed with his comments from the get go. I asked him to stop teaching my daughter this hateful stuff. It was all a big joke to him! He was a completely unprofessional and disrespectful person!!! I WILL ALWAYS RECOMMEND WILDSIDE TATTOO TO PEOPLE, BUT DO NOT GET A TATTOO FROM JOSH! I received my tattoo from "Scritch", he was very professional and curtious and did a great quality job. Don't go here for a navel piercing !!!!!! I did 2 months ago and it's not straight and was pierced to shallow. This then caused migration. So after 2 months to let it heal, I then will go to a better place and get it done right however It will cost around 100.00. Not to mention the jewelry they use is from china and who knows what metal is used. When i called to tell them they did the piercing to shallow and crooked they hung up on me!!!!! Heads up.
