I received a call from Jeremiah at Iron Lotus Tattoo in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. I was talked to like I was a child after explaining that I was unhappy with the service that I received because he cancelled our appointment 40 minutes before it was supposed to happen (after I waited forever it for 3 months) then said he can't get me in until 9 months after originally scheduling the appointment.I was cut off continuously after trying to reply to his rebuttals. He continued to berate me and tell me that they have the discretion to not refund deposits at any time (even though I didn't cancel the appointment and after the way I was treated don't even want to step foot here again). He then continued to make fun of me for not wanting to get the tattoo after he told me he did not feel good. Why would I want to sit through five hours of tattooing with a person who just told me they don't feel good? I then told him that I would be leaving a negative review on all social media and review platforms, told him I would be telling every single one of my friends to go to neon dragon or platinum rose, and told him I would never be setting foot in his establishment again. His response was, and I quote, "well that's not how you're going to get your deposit back." I said "You weren't going to give it to me anyway so I guess enjoy the free $100." My boyfriend, my best friend, and I found ourselves at Iron Lotus after seeing a flash sheet on a random Facebook post. Matt had been talking about a pizza tattoo EXACTLY like the one on the sheet for a while so we had to go. We showed up at open on Saturday morning and were able to sit with Alice right away. All together we got 4 tattoos in a matter of two hours or so and are extremely pleased with the results. Alice is actually their piercer as well and features lots of her own art throughout the shop. She was a blast to work with. The space is clean and open, albeit awkward given its location in Lindale Mall (and yes, you can enter from the mall as well as the parking lot). read more

Got my nose pierced by Gish and had a flash tattoo done the Angel. My piercing was right to the point and completely sanitary, along with Gish being super personable and funny. The lady with a panda tattoo was very rude and made fun of me for a very personal tattoo idea I had, despite it being very unique and meaningful to me. She also treated me like a stupid teenager who didn't know anything about tattoos. It's really unfortunate, because my boyfriend and I were both ready to drop $400 on tattoos (each) and I did a lot of research about this place and thought that this was a really quality tattoo parlor. I was definitely willing and hoping to make an appointment but I'd rather go anywhere else than deal with her again. So whatever your name is, congrats on losing a potential $800. I was able to quickly and efficiently get jewelry for my belly button at Iron Lotus after I lost my original playing soccer ): The people were great and I walked away with a cute purple jeweled bar. I wore it the next day and one of the jewels came off! Whoops! So I called Iron Lotus and asked politely if I could possibly get a replacement or refund. The lady on the phone said of course! So I went in a couple days after the call to get a replacement and she not only gave me a replacement, but gave me another piece of jewelry as well! (How cool right?!) Really bad customer service... if all of a sudden you get sick or some sort of emergency on your scheduled appointment. They refuse to work with you or reschedule. And they keep your 60 dollar deposit. Their basic legal contract requires a 24 hour notice to get your deposit back and reschedule. So if you get in a car accident or deadly sick on your scheduled day. You can't make it as scheduled..they keep your deposit. read more
