We went 1.5 hour before closing and the park was relatively quiet, perfect for enjoying a chill walk around the park. There are signs with facts for each animal species with some English translations that were pretty basic but fun to read. Compared to zoos, these animals seem to have a larger living area (except for the birds), roaming the alpine landscape. The mischievous marmots were running free around the park between pens, and we were pleasantly surprised with the hoofed animal area where we could walk next to elk and deer. Pretty unreal when a sturdy buck with large antlers or a line of deer crosses your path! I was really happy with our visit-- super cool to be so close to the deer and elk, say hi to some furry friends, and see the animals in happy conditions. You can also buy animal feed (just read the sign to see who you can and cannot feed!). Be sure to stop by if you like animals! :)

Those were by far the most exotic and cool animal to view. The mapping of this place is crazy. Awful location. It's right on a hill and it's all uphill or downhill. The zoo is also incredibly hard to navigate and I couldn't get out for a bit! The aquarium is disappointing. Overall, I feel like this zoo needs to step up its mapping within the park so people know where they are going and also need to bring some new attractions to the zoo.

From the moment we entered, we were met by friendly, free-roaming deer, rams, and even peacocks, all casually strolling beside us like old pals. The animals here seem just as curious about you as you are about them, which made the visit feel especially magical. Highlights included spotting a majestic lynx, enjoying the playful energy of the bear family, and catching a surprisingly entertaining bird show. Even the bull, who could've been intimidating, seemed like a mellow guy just enjoying the afternoon. It's not the largest zoo you'll visit, but it's affordable, charming, and full of character--a place where kids and adults alike can connect with animals in a way that's unstructured, up-close, and truly memorable. First of all, it's literally built into the side of a mountain. You're walking around looking at rhinos while Austria just casually flexes its scenery in the background.
