After an rainy afternoon spending in Blankenese, me and my friend Kat desperately needed a place to shelter as we were soaked... Fischclub seemed to be ideal, as we enjoyed a beautiful view over the elbe on the right side, and Blankenese perched on a hill on our left side. The hot chocolate was delicious and the apple-curry soup was extremely tasteful, unexpected though. The place wasnt crowded, but you could probably blame the weather for that.. On the background nice jazz tunes, great service, and nicely decorated with darkwooden tables, candles and flowers. Despite the bad weather, we had a pretty cultural evening although we were inside a restaurant... What can I say...this place is great! Tasteful, ón the Elbe, at the beach, in Blankenese, with industrial boats floating by as you have dinner by candlelight. It is hard to miss this spot since it is one of the few floating dining options near the beach (Strand). Once inside, you will discover it is a more a fine dining experience than a mere fish kitchen. I have eaten here several times and have enjoyed my meals particularly the shell fish options such as mussels or crab claw with shrimp appetizers. The view is nice of the river when weather is beautiful and many local families from Blankenese do Sunday brunches here. The best thing to do after or before the meal is to walk the Treppenviertel on the hillside. The steps can either end near this restaurant for lunch or begin here after your meal and a strong desire to get a bit of exercise and pretty views of all the homes, gardens and lovely yards you will discover on the staircase path. I like to come here during a day trip away from the center of things. I usually take the train S.Bahn since it takes about 20min from city center to Blankenese, but if you are visiting and have time or a local looking for a nice ride along the Elbe, I suggest either taking the bus up ElbeChausse or the Ferry from Landungsbrücken, which takes around 45min or so, depending on if you catch all the connections consecutively at each dock.

It's not a cheap restaurant that's why I just expected better food. So it was ok but I wouldn't come again. The location is great though and they have 2 or 3 parking spaces. Kleine Änderungen (zB Bratkartoffeln anstelle von Pommes frites) kosten 2,00 EUR extra. Damit wird dann ein Preisniveau erreicht, das kaum zu rechtfertigen ist. Für uns war es am 9. Nach knapp anderthalb Stunden waren die ersten mit Essen fertig und die letzten hatten noch nicht mal ihr Getränk. Dann wurde der Kellner pampig, weil er unfähig war, die Getränke tischweise zu servieren. Die Gäste waren Schuld, dass man das Gepiepse des Kellners beim Ausrufen nicht gehört hat. Teile der fehlenden Getränke waren nie in unserer Gruppe angekommen. Drei Essen wurden ganz vergessen, die anderen waren teilweise kalt oder nicht wie bestellt. Aus dem Burger ohne Zwiebeln gucken deutlich mehrere heraus. Steak Medium war totgebraten, Sauce zu den Pommes gab es nur manchmal. Auf Ansprache gab es nur Ausflüchte und die Schuld wurde auf die Kunden abgewälzt. Fazit. Über 50 Leute sagen Danke, dieses Lokal betreten wir nie wieder.
