The guides will help put you on the game and help find the trophy you want to harvest even if it takes multiple attempts or even if you want to change animal types mid hunt like one of my nephew's did. Plus they helped him learn to field dress and skin his trophies. Which he really wanted to learn that skill and Jeff explained each step in the process for him. This made this hunt special for him on several levels. Plus they offered a tour of the Taxidermy shop that will be doing some work for us. The taxidermist does some super work. Its this kind of personal interaction between the staff and guests that makes the Texas Divide ranch a very special place. If they have an exotic you want to hunt, as we were not disappointed by our bucket list animals then neither will you be. I took a great trophy Ibex. I read it in previous reviews, skeptical of the cliche, but Texas Divide truly treats you like family. Judy and Lisa prepared amazing meals, guides Jeff, Toby, Zack, and Caleb took the 4 of us out and devoted all their time and energy into giving us the greatest hunting experience, far exceeding all of our expectations. We did a helicopter pig hunt and let me tell you, watching videos doesn't compare to the real deal. The lodge is amazing the ranch is amazing and the food is out of this world. We took a couple tours of the main ranch and saw all the exotics and it's just amazing, better than any zoo that's for sure. I did he walked maybe 7 feet fell dead . it was little tiny young aoudad with a broken leg didn't have very much of mane/chap at all . when he pulled mine to gate he fell down gun hit ground. picked it up and told my friend to come on. uphill rocky for a old man . told him to shot one of 5 he was 12 feet from it and missed 2 times with last shot standing over animal. the scope was moved from his fall . very skinny v thin mature we took the head and skin left without so called meat . don't waste your time or money im trying to find owner of property since Ash is only a guide . he couldn't us gone fast enough off the ranch and so called lodge . we were back to San Antonio by 3:30 pm same day of 1st day hunt . it was over for us. our flight car rental having both animals mailed back next day to our taxidermy of 400. . was a very hard and costly experience. don't waste your time and money on this place. I'm getting mine European mount and his full shoulder mount . having them mounted tight at 5000. . VERY VERY DISGUSTING HE WAS VERY RUDE AND TOOK US TO THE CLEANERS !!! Great place to hunt for hogs. We came down in June from Colorado so it was a little hot and…read moreovergrown but we had a blast hunting over feeders and spot and stalk. The walk-in cooler was a huge help keeping the hogs cool in the heat. We opted to stay at the bunkhouse on site which was comfortable and had everything we needed, just be sure to bring your own bedding. Rusty was very helpful getting us situated and checked in on us to make sure we were getting hogs. He was also prompt in responding to our needs (ran out of TP etc). If you come here, you will get hogs.
