But I know of them now and I'm glad that I do. They are amazing. A friend of mine reached out to let me know about VOKRA after I had posted about finding a kitten in nearby hedges. They collected some information and even sent out a volunteer to check they area for any other kittens or their mom. What impressed me most was the follow up and care they offered. Their recommended next steps were all thoughtful and showed a true interest in the well-being of the kitten. Thank you to all those volunteering with VOKRA. I'd highly recommend their services to anyone looking to adopt a kitten or trying to reunite lost/found kittens.

They are the best organization with amazing volunteers and fosterers with the felines best interests at heart. I wouldn't have traded my adoptees for the world and would hope if my cats ever got lost they'd find their way to this organization as I know they'd be safe. They have a convenient location on a pedestrian boulevard in the west end. They also host single mom meet ups, senior's and children's activities. The physical space is quite a big facility inside with numerous rooms, some of which can be rented very affordably. They provide grants to other west end community groups.

A young, visually-impaired lady, a young, out in-training guide dog, and nearby, a 'trainer' to assist / help / encourage as required -- and the dog's first encounter with getting on a bus, coupled with the noisy, mechanical, wheelchair lift, et al. I came home so totally impressed, and captured by the event I had witnessed, I decided to research some of 'who', 'what', and 'where' of such operations. Since then, for me, it has been to follow and give to the efforts of 'BC & Alberta Guide Dogs'. I like what this organization, and the wonderful dogs they train, can do to enable such much-needed help to those with impaired abilities.

A few didn't look bad, some were in poor condition, but the pilot could see at least four skeletons and one decaying horse carcass lying in a ditch.

My lady sought a referral from her family doctor in late-June of this year, to apply for a…read more'handicap parking permit'. Her doctor agreed, had the necessary application, and filled out the required doctor's portion. She filled out the remaining personal information, and such required, attached a cheque for $26, and mailed the application to SPARC. The permits -- which consisted of one to be displayed within the vehicle being used and parked, and a card to carry on person -- arrived in just a few days. The permit to hang in the vehicle was 'punched' to start 'July/22', and end 'July/25'. She was hospitalized at the time her permit arrived, and only came home recently. So it has been a good while before she could get out, and have it applied for the first time to a parking space. Yesterday was 'the' day -- the space was perfect, and she was so delighted by the helpful assistance the permit provided.
