This Salvation Army is at Hastings and Gilmore, a busy intersection ~ though plenty of 2-hour…read moreparking lots are close, as well as street parking and a bus stop right out front for transit users. The outside of the storefront always has plenty of furniture outside, chairs, stools, side tables, etc. The front of the store is full of glass ware~ if you are looking for that perfect vase, this location is perfect for that! The clothing section is smaller than most other SA's though and selection is much more limited. The back section tends to be crowded ~ though I've scored a few newer yoga mats for cheap ~ lots of dvds and books at this location. Shoes are plenty ~ and more stylish than the norm. I've scored a gorgeous embroidered pillow, yoga mats, high heeled pumps almost new, and some chic shelf ornaments for great prices. Drop off some donations and you will get a $10 off your next $25 purchase coupon. They have a very large case full of expensive "Auction" items, definitely worth a look in there. Nice staff, clean change rooms ~ prices are lower than Value Village, usually ~ I check through here once a month, at least.

It's usually my go to store if I get out...today I went there and to a pet store across the street,…read more then to TNT and Safeway...once I got home, I was itching and found 3 bedbugs bites in a row on my stomach. I did call the store to let them know...he said they haven't gotten any complaints...I said, I am complaining now. Spoke to the manager...was told they would check the store...sadly, I won't go there again. I know the bites are from a bed bug because I worked in the dtes before and had to deal with this problem. Hopefully they can heat steam the entire place so the problem is dealt with. Ugh

Good and professional place to call and contact anything about the wildlife and drop off for found…read moreinjured or lost wildlife. They have helpline you could call if you found an injured animal and not sure what to do. They are friendly and helpful. Even after hours at 4pm you can still drop off the animal in the shed and fill out the form and leave it with the box/cage. Their will be staffs on site 24-hours and they regularly check the shed. A few parking in front of a house and the road leading to the house is pretty bad and bumpy so just be cautious at night or on bad weather days. Not hard to find and it's a place you can definitely trust.

I wish I could recommend this organization. Unfortunately, I feel like they make decisions for…read moreanimals based on their own priorities rather than the animals themselves. I've brought several birds in with minor injuries and none have ever made it. Most recently, two young American robins. I had to keep these two for 24 hours. They were eating, pooping, and sleeping normally. I brought them in in great condition only be told the "animal's conditions were beyond our ability to help and we are saddened to inform you that they have passed away". It was a pretty automated response and, having rehabbed many birds of all ages myself, I don't believe that they were beyond saving for a minute. My one wish is that I would have just kept this last sweet, healthy pair and rehabbed them myself. If you have *any* other option for rescue, exercise it. They will likely euthanize the birds you bring to them.
