Wildflour Bakery + Cafe in Westgate, Alabang just opened last Wednesday, March 22nd. This is the brand's biggest branch so far and it definitely did not disappoint. We went for lunch on a Friday and it was full -- we were lucky to get a table without waiting long.
The interiors are lovely and beautifully decorated. Space is bright and inviting. Food is awesome as expected from Wildflour. We ordered the following: caesar salad, clam chowder, Filipino Breakfast, tuna sandwich, smoked salmon and eggs on toast and apple pie ala mode. For our drinks, we ordered their iced Vietnamese latte, chantilly iced coffee and pistachio au lait.
Everything we ordered was delicious and portion sizes were good. Food and drinks arrived in a timely manner too.
Docking a star because their bakery counter staff still need a lot of training and streamlining. Queue for the bakery isn't clear and ringing up the items took quite a while. Some people were accommodated before others who were there first so some items I wanted were snapped up by other people.
Also, we tried to have Sunday Lunch here and it was so chaotic. They don't allow reservations but you gotta put your name on the list. However, some groups were passed over and some jumped the line saying they have a reservation -- so it was confusing and annoying for those patiently waiting for tables. Plus, with the summer hear upon us, waiting outside by their entrance/patio isn't comfortable.
You'd expect that they'd have a mix of staff -- trainees and experienced people manning the host's booth but it seemed like they still need more training and guidance when handling seating queues.
Overall, I'm super happy that Wildflour is here in Alabang. No need to drive all the way to BGC or Makati anymore. But I'll definitely be avoiding weekend lunch rush in the next few months. read more
