Great place to find clothes, packs, travel gear, accessories for camping, general travel, sports…read moreetc. The staff are really friendly and helpful especially the staff in the packs section. They help you figure out the best pack for your body size, usage, etc...and they fit you too. I found that their travel accessories are definitely cheaper than other travel shops around the city. Also, a decent bike accessory section. They generally carry their own MEC clothing line so you won't likely find the more recognizable outdoor brand names here. Since it's a co-op, you just need to sign up as a member for $5 (lifetime membership) but like most places you can just use your phone number instead of carrying their card around. The one thing that sucks about this place is the lack of parking! It's located on Portage and Donald so it's only limited to street (meter) parking. And there's no street parking allowed in that area between 3:30 pm and 5:30 pm weekdays. I saw a banner that allows free 1 hour parking if you buy more than $10 worth of stuff at an Impark lot somewhere on Smith. Not sure which lot that is but obviously I didn't spot that sign until after I circled this place for 10 mins!

No where in the flyer does it state limited quantities or while supplies last but they won't honour the deal. Wasted 2 hrs calling the store directly but no one can give a straight answer. Do yourself a favour if you are shopping in Winnipeg and go to the Fishin Hole instead. Wayne Haner

I love this place!…read more I find staff is friendly and knowledgeable in their departments and they will make sure that you are fully helped before assisting someone else. I frequent the gun/hunting and fishing sections when I go and it's always been an excellent experience. Hours there have changed for the better or back to the original hours (depending how you want to view it) so they open at 9am again. Always a good thing to visit the bargain cave when your here, there are some good gems in there from time to time.

Winter wear shopping today!…read more Found everything at Sport Chek. Excellent quality winter wear, Lots of jackets for adults and kids. From dressy (but dressy sporty) to very sporty, and almost an overwhelming selection of mittens, gloves, hats, toques, and neck warmers/face shields. I found a GORGEOUS pair of mitts, but they were a little pricey -- $99, so out of my league. ;) They were ski gloves, so if I was a skier I could probably find a way to justify the expense..but I chose my second fave mitts which were about $35. If you know Sport Chek, you'll know they provide gear and clothing for just about every sport. I love the selection, the brand names and the fantastic customer service. Sales staff are knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the store and its merchandise.

There some one small scuff on the top of the index finger right beside the Web probably because the glove wasn't conditioned when I was on the shelf in the store. (they probably didn't even notice that, because of how clueless they were) . But that was the on scuff on it. You want to know what they afford me 12$. For a almost brand new top of the line Glove. Ya you know Kris Bryant is obviously gonna use a 12$ right and Kevin Pillar uses a heart of the hide (which has lower quality leather) would a 10$ Glove am I right. They also marked it down as a "Rawlings Gold Glove" probably referring to the "Gold Glove Co." on the pinky finger. Even if "Pro Preferred" was stamped right on the palm. When watching they barley looked for quality. One guy just had the glove on his hand talking and smiling. Because that's how you determine quality. And why would put your hand in non broken in Glove not even knowing if I would trade it in. Who knows maybe they thought I didn't know what I was taking about so they tried to rip me off. But who knows.

I bought a Jets sports jersey with a custom name bar as a gift. (Not cheap.) They said it would…read morebe ready on Friday. When I went to pick it up at 3:00 PM, the guy went into the back and was gone a long time. When he came back, he said, "They're working on it now. It'll be ready in 15 minutes." When I spoke to the manager about the delay, there was no apology for making me stand there waiting. He just said that they've been very busy. I wasn't impressed.

We had a horrible experience with the manager and the owner when trying to exchange a hockey stick…read morewithin the 30 days breakage warranty. Despite having the receipt and the warranty card from their store the owner refused to deal with my wife and son, told them to get out of the store or the would call the police. Really? I am lost as to why anyone would or should give this company business - when you not only won't stand behind your own warranty but then double down with outlandish rudeness, threats and zero customer support. We will be contacting our credit card company and filing a small claim; ultimately this will get resolved but do yourselves a favor and save yourself the lost hours and deal with an honorable CCM hockey stick retailer. This was the worst retail experience we have had in Winnipeg in a decade. Yikes! Stay away!

However, when getting fitted for skis, the owner confirmed that despite already having boots, we would still need to pay to rent a pair. What is most frustrating is that we bought the boots because they didn't have my daughter's size...and then found out afterwards that we still had to pay to rent a pair.
