For example: Requiring a three-day rental when it's obvious the place is not rented and could be rented if there was any flexibility regarding a two-day rental; all the money up front rather than a deposit or a payment plan; rental contract sent via email, but then followed up by multiple phone calls (one per day) if you don't sign it right away, regardless if your actual rental is a ways out; requirement to call for check-in instructions rather than embracing 2019 and just emailing where to find the key, etc.; making check-in at 4 p.m. and check out at 10 a.m. (srsly what?); being militant about the WiFi to the point of not trusting the customer enough to get it by making the password something I won't reveal here but is basically an instruction you'd give to your dog about what isn't allowed; a closing email about how you need to check out at 10 because a cleaning crew may arrive at 10:20 (totally false, fyi). We rented a lovely cabin, but paid too much and had to deal with an inflexible (at best) management company. I don't do a lot of reviews, but this was too much. Stay away.

Chad, the owner, could not have been more helpful without intruding in any way during our stay. The lake is stocked, which made for many hours of delight as our grandchildren's first fishing experience. The renovated cabins are surprisingly chic and super comfy. It was great to have the kitchenette, though local restaurants are within a quick drive. The location is great: right off the main highway but quiet and really picturesque with the pretty little lake, (really a pond,) filled with ducks and geese and their chicks--and where the owner provides kayaks and canoes for your use. A covered picnic-barbecue area is perfect for reunions or just a casual cookout. We loved this property and will return ASAP!

The kitchen is stocked with pans, dishes, utensils, and even salt, pepper, and olive oil for cooking. There are propane grills on the porch of each cabin. We stayed for my brother's wedding and things did not go smoothly. I don't really know what happened but when talking with one of the owners (the wife) and apologizing for whatever went wrong she "got in my face" and asked how I liked it. For the record, I did not like it, especially with her face less than 5 inches from mine as she asjefThis was after the other owner (the husband) invited an angry and intoxicated guest to "go ahead and hit me." The guest was not acting appropriately but I don't believe the owner's reaction was appropriate either. Two wrongs don't make a right. We were in our cabin cleaning up for our 10 AM checkout so I don't know how the drama started. They said that we didn't know the back story of working with the couple (my brother and his new wife). They are right. I don't know. I do know they paid a lot of money to rent the entire venue for the weekend. I'm not sure what went wrong. Also, our cabin has a loft where my oldest son slept. The floor is SUPER creaky. My wife and I joked that it sounds like a balloon animal factory. There is no air conditioning in cabin 5 and it got very hot by evening. We slept with the windows open and the cabin was very cold in the middle of the night. It stayed cool during the morning and early afternoon but got very uncomfortable as the evening progressed. Before I was aware of any issues, the owners were helpful in directing us where to go in town for groceries and an oil change.

Withy Gate is charming and endearing. There is an adorable courtyard with a grill, table, four chairs, and an umbrella. It creates a lovely outdoor respite--as the cottage is situated far back on the lot. Thus, it's very private. Inside the cottage is a well-equipped kitchen, great bathroom with a deep tub for a relaxing soak, and a comfy Sleep Number bed. Just select your comfort number and drift off. Kris has a great selection of information for sightseeing, antiquing, outdoor activities, and restaurants. She is also a phone-call or text away for assistance. I loved my stay! Due to the size of the cottage, it's perfect for solo or couple accommodations.

Unfortunately I had a fall, my right ankle got strained pretty bad upon arriving, the hosts quickly came to check on me and offered me not only crutches but a hiking stick. I'm so thankful because both came in so handy. The room was cute, comfy and location was secluded which is what I was looking for. We met earl the duck, he's something else, in a good way. I love the animals roaming around. They bring so much peace. I dipped in the hot tub at night, I felt safe with my daughter, was so relaxing. The host Jason gave me some ideas on dinner in Darby. I'm glad because it's a very small town and lots of places close early. I will definitely be back but with my Hubbie. This is perfect for couples too. We were immediately greeted by the host, Jason, which led us to the room. He was extremely friendly in showing us around and they let us roam freely on the grounds down to the river and meet all their little chickens. We stood in the west slope suite which was very cute and the bed was extremely comfortable. They give a lot of pillows, blanket, toilet paper, towels etc. I would not consider the room to be a cabin or anything of the sort, it is quite literally a room with a bathroom. The bathroom is huge and has a nice jacuzzi tub. There room is attached to the main house so it doesn't feel private at all which is when my only complaint goes to. I do like to feel a bit more secluded and private and not feel like I'm intruding on someone's home or property even though you're paying to stay there. It does feel a bit awkward at times. The hosts once again are amazing and very attentive when we needed anything at all they responded extremely fast and went above and beyond to help us with anything. His wife Toni is very responsive when it comes to texting and our phone call to her , she made us feel heard and safe as us people coming in from the city. It's always a little scary staying out in the middle of nowhere but once again they made us feel very safe. The hot tub is very nice but it is on the back deck of the main house which again didn't feel private but that's just my own preference of things.

I seriously felt more like I was housesitting for a friend - all the comforts were there. It didn't feel stingy or sterile or manufactured like so many 'commercial' lodgings frequently do, and the ones that don't cost more than twice what the Wilma Condo charges. Everything was modern and nice, but with an eye everywhere to practicality and treading lightly on the environment, which are big pluses with me. A lot of things that didn't need to be provided were: quality soap and shampoo in the shower, nice cotton towels and bedding , and a kitchen ready for your gourmet imagination. Did I mention the fantastic views of 270 degrees of Missoula out the huge windows?! The owner was more than accommodating, especially as I'm one of those 'canary in a coal mine' fragile flowers that could drive your average proprietor crazy. An adjoining unit hosted a large dog, who barked at length several times one day, anytime it could hear someone in the hallway. The owner acted immediately when I notified him of this, getting the dog's owner to intervene - problem solved. There were also a few bumps with check-in and check-out, which he handled with grace and generosity. I am going to offer a few caveats to the uninitiated and sensitive folk out there. While you can take these as dings, they are not intended as such, and I don't consider them the owner's fault. The issue is really one of inappropriate mixed-use of the building. The street on which the Wilma is located, Higgins Avenue, is one of the busiest in Missoula, and seems to draw a lot of hollering young folk and large diesel pickups driven more like urban boomcars. Think twice if quiet is especially important to you. Also take stock of what concerts are slated for the Wilma during the time you plan to stay in the condo - bass-heavy music like hip-hop is audible through the *entire building*, even eight floors up. I was assailed by two nights in a row of this, the second night well past 11pm.

The condo has a kitchen and laundry and is ideally located with plenty of activities within walking distance (great dining, entertainment and outdoor). He's a master at developing flavors and creating beautiful dishes using local meats and fresh vegetables. His potatoes are legendary, and his cobblers are the best I've ever had! The quality of the food and wine are first class. The all inclusive aspect allowed us to try many new things. Fly fishing was fantastic, and our guide, Henry, was very patient with us newbies. His instructions miraculously saw us both catching cutthroat trout. We also did archery (super fun!), horseback riding, and had a ton of fun doing some distance shooting. I was very intimidated, but with fabulous instruction, felt relaxed and really enjoyed it. We enjoyed some hikes and gem mining to round out our time. Highly recommend a getaway to The Meadows.
