Sad to share a horrible experience we had at a veterinary practice we've used for years. The new vet was short and flippant, referring to the dogs as 'girlfriend' and then addressing me that way too! My husband and I exchanged glances and I excused myself and went out of the room to the counter. I asked for the managing partner and was told there wasn't one there. I asked who was in charge and was told the office manager was out til Monday. They asked what was wrong and I stated that our appointment was not going well as something was 'off' with the new vet. I wasn't sure if it was because one of our pups was a pitbull or what could explain it. They suggested I call Monday. I was hesitant to finish the appointment as the new vet was not listening to either of us when we answered her questions and she dismissed our concerns. To date I've not been able to speak with anyone about this. No one is ever available. Save yourself and your pets from the grief we experienced and if you go to @FountainCityVetrinaryHospitalBryanOhio don't subject yourself or your pets to the new vet! Unless of course you like being addressed as 'girlfriend' along with your pet!

They gave me a quote over the phone, and that was exactly what I paid at check out. It was slightly more than the cost at a local vet hospital for the same procedure, but like I said that wasn't even an option for me! Everyone was helpful, friendly, and the appointment was very fast. I can only imagine they would be wonderful and compassionate in an emergency situation.

I brought my dog in with sudden explosive bloody diarrhea and they did more harm than good to him…read more Instead of investigating the cause, they stopped at a vague syndrome label - "Acute Hemorrhagic Diarrhea Syndrome." That's not an explanation, it's just a description of symptoms. Not even an abdominal exam, rectal exam, or temperature check was done. I was told it would resolve on its own with bland food. At one point, I was even told that his anxiety may have caused it. He was anxious because he was very sick - attributing it to that, without ruling out common causes, was dismissive and unsafe. I explained that I had just taken in foster puppies from a shelter where parasites are extremely common, but was reassured it wasn't contagious. Within days, all three foster puppies developed severe diarrhea and were hospitalized with Giardia. Only after I did my own research and brought my dog back did they agree to run blood work and a Giardia test, which they reported as negative. My dog continued to worsen until I took him to a different veterinarian, who repeated the test, confirmed Giardia, prescribed proper treatment, and my dog quickly improved. When I later obtained this hospital's records, I was shocked. They described exams that were never performed and minimized the details I had clearly provided, even after I showed them photos. For all of this, I was charged nearly $1,000. This was a common, easily diagnosable condition that should have been addressed from the start, especially given the shelter connection I emphasized. Instead, my dog and my foster puppies suffered unnecessarily because the hospital provided poor care and then inaccurately documented both the care and the severity of his illness. The only positive I can offer is that the front desk staff was friendly. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this hospital as a safe or trustworthy place for veterinary care. Tiffany Holm & my dog, Bruh The response they gave to my review indicates they don't understand. I don't mind being inconvenienced for my dog. They should ask how he's doing. I also never received a call from them.

The facility was built with dogs in mind...before it was A Walk In The Park, the building was the home of the Toledo Area Humane Society. The building is more than large enough, and the yard is even bigger. The staff is awesome...just plain awesome. You can tell that every single person working here really loves dogs, and the dogs, at least my dog, seems to love all of them. We recently left our puppy here when we weren't able to take him with us on vacation. My wife, who still does Facebook (LOL), logged in daily to see videos and pix of the pack including our boy, so she and the kids (and me too, I guess) felt connected. When we got home and went to pick him up, he was happy to see all four of us, but he didn't want to leave...I guess dogs really are pack animals. We also utilize doggie daycare a couple time per week. As far as pet safety goes, and I might not have this exactly right, but I think the dogs are grouped by age and size. That is, the large breed puppies are kept together, and the small breed puppies are keep together. The large breed adults are kept together...etc. In other words, you don't have to worry about your chihuahua pup getting eaten by a Doberman. Great business, and great location. Five stars.

Dirk is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about dogs. The dogs are engaged physically, mentally and socially while in their care. They are never stuck in a kennel for the day. At night the dogs sleep in bedrooms together with a staff member present at all times. His staff is top notch - friendly, reliable, and well educated on dog handling. AWITP is the only place for my dog care needs - my pup loves her time on the "ranch". I highly recommend!
