If you call with enough advance notice, she will steam them for you & you can get creative about eating them at a place of your choosing if home is not nearby. It sounds like half an hour is the bare minimum for calling ahead, and she'd probably appreciate much more advance notice than that to be able to plan her day. I am not local so I called in advance for steamed lobsters, drove to a different store to buy shears and butter, picked up my lobsters and had a picnic at a park. I've been to dozens of lobster pounds all over Maine and the flavor and texture of these lobsters beat them all. I don't know if Kerry really has the cook time dialed in, they were exceptionally fresh, the season was perfect or all three- but the texture and flavor were both spot on. Any time I'm in the area this will be where I get my lobster! But once again, NOT a restaurant.

Usually when a place calls them jumbo it's laughable but there was no false advertising here. What's even better is that they are the product of a father / daughter duo and I love to support local and family businesses. This place is nondescript but a must eat if you're in the area. No better pricing or quality.

Unfortunately, the oysters were extremely small and rightfully referred to as cocktail oysters. Because they were so small, it was hard to gauge their flavor and barely worth the time to shuck. Could one day perhaps be one of the wonders of Maine.

I've gone other places that were more expensive and lower quality so skip those and buy from the guys that just pulled them out of the bays. It can be a little hard to find, you've got to make a sharp left as soon as you turn onto Granite St. and drive down the hill to the water. You go into the office, pick up a bag and walk down to the floating dock to get your lobsters. We picked out a couple of 1.5# lobsters, spent some time talking to the guys who'd brought them in. We went back to the office, they weighed them, we paid a pretty ridiculously low price for hard shells and took them home. They were just about the feistiest lobsters I've ever seen. It doesn't get any fresher than that.

The hours can be varied so call if you have a bit of a drive or are headed over for something specific. We called to check if they were open a few days ago and confirmed they were. The guy thoughtfully called us back after we talked to clarify that they were out of crab that day in case that's what we were looking for.
