The layout seemed odd, the HVAC definitely needs work, the Name is questionable at best we were told by a local it was "Shades of Brown" not a good name for a restaurant if you use your imagination. Our drink order was well, well, very well taken care of. The food however was terrible and overpriced and trying to find parking...... well Middlesboro, do better. The steak tasted of expired meat and shoe leather. The chicken may have been plastic. The food was awful, we had heard so much hype of how great it was, and well it wasn't. I want to again commend the wait staff for their hard work and efforts, but this place needs a real cook. Sounded to us like it has too many bosses and no one knows who's in charge.

Whats extra cool about this place is that it's attached to a pottery studio. Service was friendly and the place was clean. Cute place overall, I definitely recommend!! The creek is very nice to eat by, and they have sun or shaded areas to sit as well as inside seating. I did almost get attacked by a squirrel but that's not the business's fault. I'm sure it's because most people feed the squirrels and birds. If you sit outside, make sure to pay attention to any animals nearby. The staff were really nice as well.

The owners are sweet and friendly, however it takes quite awhile to get your food after you order. On average, I probably wait 20 minutes to get 1 breakfast food and 1 coffee- so I only go there if I'm not on a time crunch. The quality of the food & drink is great and taste is great as well. However, my main complaint that I have been frustrated with is their store hours. I have went there on 4 different occasions during their "open" hours to find the door locked and the "closed" sign on the door. This included a Saturday at 12:15pm and a Monday at 8:15am- which on their brochure says they should be open. You can imagine it is very frustrating to drive to an establishment during their "open" hours for it to be closed. Overall, I love the product they serve, I just have had a few issues with their hours
