I jumped with Mike for my first AFF jump. One heck of a guy. Extremely knowledgeable. Pounds the info in to your head repeatedly (for obvious reasons). That being said he does it in the most chill, relaxed stern way possible. Nothing but a complete professional. My experience was more than I expected. We ended up jumping out of another airport (Midwest freefall) in Romeo, MI simply because a couple in my group chose tandem. I've down a tandem before and will never look back after doing the accelerated freefall with mike. You will not regret your decision to choose Mike! read more

Since 1984, Wild Wind Skydivers has been the premier skydiving center of the Saginaw area. We specialize in the Accelerated Freefall style of first jump training. Accelerated Freefall is the most advanced and arguably the most rewarding method to learn skydiving. It consists of two highly trained instructors holding onto the prospective student for the entire freefall. When the parachute opens, pulling the student out of the instructors' hands, the student is in control of their parachute, following the instructors' direction to a safe landing via radio communication. Every first AFF jump is filmed for training and liability purposes. We give the student this video at no additional cost. We also offer tandem and instructor assisted deployment (IAD), but neither compare to the excitement of skydiving and landing the parachute safely on your own. Meet the Business Owner: Michael M.

Michael Matthews is the drop zone owner (DZO) and primary Instructor for Accelerated Freefall (AFF) and Instructor Assisted Deployment (IAD). He is the dropzones Safety and Training Advisor (S,T&A) and has made over 7450 skydives, 3000+ AFF student jumps and almost 200 B.A.S.E. jumps.
