I've taken a considerable amount of time to leave this review - my son has been going to this dental office since his first dental visit at about 1 years old. He has had 2 general exams/cleanings, a cavity check and 2 appointments concerning the cavity as well as a procedure done (2 caps, treatment for the cavities. All that being said I would recommend this office based on their DENTAL PROFESSIONALISM AND KNOWLEDGE. As many reviews states, their customer service overall could use improvement. Dr T is the real reason I choose to continue to take my children here. I was first given a recommendation by the dentist my son has seen for all of his visits to paint his cavities with silver diamine - I was hesitant to do this given no X-rays had been taken nor was I given any other option... I chose to seek a second opinion from a different office. Upon them taking X-rays I was told silver diamine would have not worked or given long term results given the cavities were big/deep. Given the dental office I went to does not do pediatric procedures I chose to go back to Wild West Dentistry and see a different dentist - Dr Tawil, he had X-rays taken and reviewed X-rays from the other dental office and recommended my son be put under general anesthesia and have 2 caps placed on the teeth to prevent further decay. Dr Tawil had great empathetic communication skills regarding the entire recommendations, answered our concerns with pleasure and kindness. He is truly the reason we chose to get the procedure done at Wild West. Sadly, at this office it just depends what front desk or dental assistants are there that day. Some are very nice, and others seem irritated and are very abrasive when you ask questions, are taking your time with paperwork etc. Dr Davis performed the procedure, placing 2 caps on my son's front tooth. She was very communicative and clear when it came to the treatment, and what would be done as well as great with educating us on after care. And last but not least the Anesthesiologist team. AMAZING!! They were VERY empathetic, informative and kind. Dr Andall (I belive that's the spelling) was very kind and patient with my son. And the two assistants he had were very kind and informative as well. The front desk gal we got the day of the surgery was very kind, very informative and answered every concern and question with empathy. read more

I'm not sure why everyone has given this place a bad review. The office ladies and dental staff were all so nice and efficient.

I called the office in advance and made sure that their would be no problems with me being in the room with my daughter (minus xrays of course) the office staff assured me there were no issues. I took 2 hrs off of work and came into the office. They have a form for new patients to sign saying you are aware they do not let parents back in the rooms with their kids. I didnt sign the form. They had a problem with this and I went over it again, that my child has had dental trauma and relayed that I am required to be in the room with her as I am the only one that can calm her anxiety, I also relayed (again) that I also cleared this PRIOR to setting up the apt with their staff that said this was not a problem. They said okay just sign the form that you are aware of the policy. I did exactly that and made a note that Im signing that Im aware of the policy but that Im not in agreement with it. The office manager said I couldnt do that even though her staff said literally told me 5 minutes prior that I could. She said she would go talk with the dentist and let me know. The dentist said that my daughter cannot be a patient of their facility. I let the office manager know I would be reporting this. You cannot manipulate parents into signing this form if they dont agree to the terms, even though on 3 occasions you stated it would not be an issue. I advised the office manager to train her staff more adequately and reminded her I went above and beyond to make sure this would not be an issue PRIOR to coming in. They just wasted 2 hours of my day because of the lack of consistency, knowledge and poor communication. This office and dentist have ethical issues and their license should be revoked. You cannot manipulate me into signing a form I dont agree with, tell me that its fine and then change your mind later on. Its possible the dentist is good at their job. It is 100% certain they have terrible management and front desk staff. read more

Not a great experience I wasn't previously advised that parents are not allowed back during exams until I arrived. Fine, understandable due to covid. The assistant who took my son back for X-rays was not friendly. My son was nervous and she came off cold. No "You'll be alright" not even a nice smile, just come with me for X-rays". I mean this is a Pediatric office right? You Specialize in children. Come on. The provider, Dr. Kerr ends up allowing me back to explain treatment. He does let me know that my son would need laughing gas for the procedure on his next appt. and pointed out that he does NOT sedate his patients like some of the other providers. Which again is fine with me, I go on to schedule his next appt 2 weeks out. The male receptionist in the front asked me specifically if I'd like to schedule with the same provider. I reply yes and go on about my day. Day of treatment I come in & start to fill out paperwork. Mind you my son has never had treatment done, so he was a bit nervous and was shedding some silent tears while we waited. In my opinion, an ordinary reaction of any young child who's parent are not allowed back during treatment. The same female assistant then comes up to me and starts talking about sedation & my options. I'm confused, but she continues to tell me that my son doesn't look like he will do well with laughing gas only, and it's better if we schedule him for another day. At this point my son hasn't even gone in the back, this is all being said to me in the lobby. So at no time was there even A slight attempt from any of the office staff to even give him a chance to see how he will do. I let her know that per Dr. Kerr's recommendation that he will do laughing gas only. She goes on to tell me that oh no, Dr. Kerr is not in the office today and that they must have changed my appt. (they didn't ) All the above was said in front of my son so with him being nervous & her stating what she did he's at this point he's even more anxious so I just agree to reschedule with the lady receptionist in the front. I leave and call the office back to assure my appointment is scheduled with Dr. Kerr. The male receptionist answers and actually tells me that Dr. Kerr is in the office today & he can fit me in at 3pm. I tell him that I'm confused because I was just in the office a few mins ago and was advised that he was NOT in and was rescheduled because my son needs sedation. How are you offering to see him at 3pm if I was just turned away? He goes on to try to tell me how different providers have different methods of practice and that the provider who was in at my appt time will not see patients without sedation and that Dr. Kerr was actually on his lunch at time I was in. Whaaat? At this point I'm pretty pissed off that 1. I was scheduled during the Drs lunch time (Who does that knowing the providers have particular ways on treating their patients) then try's to "educate me" on how things are done. UH, HELLO! you are the same person who scheduled the visit, it's laughable. And 2. I was lied to, putting blame on my son stating he's too anxious to even be sat in the treatment chair before making that determination. Facts were they screwed up the scheduling and tried to finesse the situation by making it seem as if it were my sons fault. That mad me soo mad because when we had left the appt. my son was sad telling me he was sorry he couldn't do it. the front and back office is so out of sync that the front didn't know the lie that was told by the back so when I called he blurted out the opposite of what I was just told. He was also rude about me being upset I was given a superficial sorry & was being defensive with me over the phone. I would have way rather they have been honest with me when I initially got there and ask if I'd be willing to come back later in the day due to a scheduling issue. If they lie to me about petty stuff like that I can't trust that they wouldn't lie to me about other things. I ended up cancelling and going else. read more

Want to start off by saying front desk marixsa , Dr. Jad Tawil and their anesthesiologist are professional and friendly. They're the reason I gave them a second chance to take my daughter back. But after the third visit it's going to be a no for my daughter and I ! Dr.Davis and and half of the staff are rude and not kid friendly. They talk back and make your experience their so uncomfortable! They take it personal when you ask questions and respond to you with a rude attitude. Super unprofessional environment. My daughter had to get 4 teeth pulled out and 3 fillings which ment she had to go under anastesia , i saw reviews that they didnt allow you to go back there at all. They actually let me in with her to go over the procedudre and allowed me to go in with her when she went under ! I was really nervous at first but the anastesiologist was super nice and comforting telling me they were gonna take great care of my baby girl. after she went down they allowed me to kiss her good bye and i left so they can do the dental work . The front desk ladies were super nice and explained the paper work i had to fill out to me with great detail. Update: Took my son to another dentist and they told me he had no cavities and his teeth and gums are perfectly healthy. I still can't believe that this dentist office wanted to do three crowns on perfectly healthy teeth and NOT get x-rays. Glad I listened to my gut when I didn't feel comfortable about the procedure they told me about only a few minutes before they did it and got my son out of there. It really makes me sad with the way I was treated and upset that they would do an unnecessary procedure on a child. The other dentist was completely shocked by this experience and NO x-rays. ~ Bad experience overall. 0 star instead of a 1. Don't go to this place. Highly recommend you don't. They don't explain procedures very well and just want money out of your insurance. Tried to talk to them about my problems I was having and they pulled my child's records and told me better luck somewhere else. They will also do unnecessary procedures on your child and won't give you other options suitable for their age. PARENTS watch out! They also don't allow you back with their kid, RED FLAG WARNING! My autistic child had quite a lot of work to be done, so I was referred to Wild West Children's Dentistry. When I saw the 1-star rating, I almost felt I should cancel and go somewhere else. But, I gave it a chance since most bad reviews were written mainly by mothers whose problem was that they couldn't be present at their children's visit with the doctor. At the same time, I felt that this was no different from when my children went under anesthetic treatment, and I had to wait outside. So I thought, I am just going to be extra cautious with all the staff and specially the doctor that will see my kid today. When I showed up, I noticed a lot of patients, and I sat until I was called. I waited the usual time. The receptionist was kind and friendly. No problems there. The dental tech that took us in was just as nice. The x-ray tech was also very polite and she did ask if I could sit over on a chair a few feet away. I thought nothing of it. X-rays are taken in an open area visible to other dental staff. All good there too! When the dentist came in he did seem serious. To be safe, I immediately warned him that my child was autistic and he may not respond or listen to him easily. He sort of gestured with frowned eyebrows, but looked at me in the eye, and said, "that is no problem to me at all". I adjusted my son onto the seat, and he repeated again, "yeah, no problem at all, I am okay with that". So I sat back letting him start his examination. I attentively kept my eyes on what he was doing the entire time. He was good! As expected my son wanted to reach the tool to push it aside. So I got closer, and helped by holding his hands, and talking to him to keep him at ease and manageable. The dentist was patient about it too. He went on and talked to my son also very nicely. He encouraged my son to cooperate by giving lots of positive feedback about his behavior. You know, using phrases such as "good job buddy", "yeah, that's it, you got it". He kept that up every step of the way. My son did actually become still and the doctor was able to comfortably show and explain his findings to me. I was very on top of his recommendations as well. I made sure all he suggested made sense to me. Yep, all was great again! In the end, he explained how he wanted to approach treatment and explained just fine. I had no complains. He did straight out forward asked me if I was happy with my visit and service. I said, "yes, very much, thank you". So then just as serious as before he went on and out the room. I personally had a very pleasant visit! The tech I was left with was also very nice. I couldn't help to ask about the 1-star rating and why. She simply said, "I know, we have very poor reviews and is mainly that a lot of parents don't understand our protocols and they sometimes become upset. All of us in the staff are new here too, so the others before us may have written those reviews. I don't know". "I don't know either!" I said. I have no complains so far. I would highly recommend this dentist to anyone. They are nice and efficient. I found no disappointments at all, even when I was sort of expecting something because of the bad reviews written here. Like I said, all was awesome during our visit here. Even my son left extra happy when at the end of it all, he got a helium balloon, and dinosaur sticker for a reward. Very disappointed! If I could rate this 0 starts I would . I been taking my son and daughter here since they were 2 . My son is 14 and daughter is 11. My little sister went here on Few days ago and they treated her poorly . Fist they hit her in the head with the X-ray machine and they didn't seem to care much. In the middle of her cleaning the dental assistant ran out of the things they needed so they left her in the room with her mouth dripping while they went to go get what they needed. When she the dental assistant started squirting water in her mouth again she spilled all the water on her chest . My son was scheduled for a cavity removal, I show up for the appointment, and the dentists is clearly upset because my 3 YEAR OLD IS SCARED. Umm hello, you work at a KIDS dentistry!! Came for my son procedure , as we were waiting dad came into ask front office lady in regards if there's a way to test my son for anesthesia to check if he might be allergic prior to his procedure there's a 3-9 % rate of death. Dad childhood friend passed away due to this. So lady stated we should be able to do that so that felt relief . Once we got back into the room and ask the anesthesia person he said there's no way we can test for that he then became aggressive and stated " I done 6,000 cases on smallest child ages from 22-24. First of all that's not the question we ask. Instead of the anesthesia doctor answering our question and reassuring dad he was rude about it. Thats when Dr. York is outside the hall and hearing the conversation about how rude the anesthesia person was, he walks out and whisper something to Dr. York, as she comes in she does not say good morning or anything she just says your appointment is cancelled. First of all she could of came in saying is there any questions you have for me as i'm a Dr. instead of coming to the anesthesia person. She was just rudely to cancel the appt. This just made me feel to not ever come or bring my kids to this office my kids need to be comforted and get comfortable with a person which usually takes less than 10 minutes. The doctor and anesthesia person did other wise he actually even got scared that he got up from his seat and came to me for comfort. The other dentist we had prior to his procedure was super nice and very informative I wish he was there to do the procedure for my son. My sister in law in a dentist assistant and came to work here for two hours as is needed for work interview until she left due to Ms. york being disrespectful to the assistants and rude to her also. She saw how she was not children friendly as this is a children dentist she decided to decline the job opportunity. I never realized how bad the reviews were on yelp and I wish i saw them before I even scheduled them here. Only reason why I came to this dentist was for my son to be clear for school as he usually attends another dentist office it was just so hard to get in as both parents work and they close early. We decided to just go somewhere else to get an appointment right away and I regret every decision to come here. Please avoid this clinic all the other reviews from the parents are totally correct. Receptionist provided terrible service. The office misinformed me that my son was required to have two appointments in the same day for braces removal. Then they lied and said that they called his mother concerning the first appointment after I informed them that the initial appointment was never made and provided proof with the appointment card. The office was unwilling to accommodate for their mistake and forced my child to have his removal delayed for 2 weeks. Recently relocated to Arizona. My girls needed a cleaning and with my hubby's State of Arizona job insurance this was the closest place to our house. Front desk were great. The black female dentist has a stank attitude. My girls were like mom please don't make us go back there, she is mean and rude. Horrible service! The ladies in the front desk were rude. It's a children's dentistry and they seemed annoyed by the children there. The lady doing X-rays on my son raised her voice at him and even asked me to go wait in the waiting room. My son is only 5 and she asked me to leave him alone with her. I stayed with him and it seemed to bother her. When we walked to the room the dentist walks in and doesn't even introduce himself or says hi to my son. However, when the dental assistant took us back, I could not believe I witnessed her lose patience so quickly with my son. He was hardly given a chance before she harshly told him to open his mouth. The way she spoke to him wasn't the worst part though, because the UNPROFESSIONAL lady actually choked my son! I thought she simply opened his mouth too wide which made him gag a little. But she continued to raise her voice in an awful tone, "open! open!" Of course my son was not cooperating. My son yelled, "she choking me!" several times. She wasn't nice or gentle at all! But her back was towards me, as she was facing my son (who was on the chair to get the xrays). Her colleagues could all hear what was going on. NO ONE stepped in despite me seeing the look of awkwardness on their faces. I could tell they were trying their best to ignore the situation instead of helping diffuse. When she proceeded to try again, I asked her to be more gentle as I tried to keep my cool. She then switched instantly into a nicer version of herself, but by then, ALL trust was gone. It was too late and she's lucky I didn't have the energy to argue or disrespect anyone. Looking back, I should have made sure my son was fine but because I was also trying to finish their paperwork at the same time, I wasn't looking up at them the whole time she was trying to take xrays. When we went back to see the dentist, it wasn't anything outstanding either. The whole experience was negative. They literally traumatized my 5 year old son!! It took him a full week to tell me that the dental assistant had choked him in the neck! When he went to a regular check up last week, he thought the MD was going to choke him! I went to this location for my daughter. They told me they accepted my insurance but the ANESTHESIA doctor doesn't accept insurance and i would have to pay out of pocket to reserve the Anesthesia doctor a week prior to her appoint along with clearance from her doctor. I did not call in to make the payment a week before because i did not receive the medical clearance from her doctor. JOEL called today to confirm her appointment for tomorrow. I did let him know that i would like to get the clearance before i have her put to sleep and he told me i have that right but "this late in the game" he wouldn't be able to reschedule my daughter EVER at this clinic. I asked for a "manager" ADRIANA and i told her i was never told that if i needed to reschedule her that i wouldn't be able to with it being the day prior to her appointment, she told me i was told (granted she was not there when i was being told what i needed to do) and i reminder that it's not an argument and that i wasn't told that. She said WELP she doesn't know what to tell me but my daughter cannot be seen there then i let her know that i didn't feel that was correct and what policy was that on and she said it was their own policy. I let her know that i would he writing these reviews and she said that's good. I will never go to this or any clinic associate with this one again. This is not how you treat families or children. Will not go back. We have been going to this office for years and within the last couple of years its gone down hill. We arrived at 140 apt time was at 2 we went seen till 220. My kids were the ones who said they did not feel comfortable at this dentist office because the lady was mad at them. I asked for what? He said during the xray the tech told him to bite down but he didnt hear her so she raised her voice at him. My older child said the same tech was throwing the jacking and just a bad attitude. This place doesn't even deserve a 1 star. Based on the behavior of the front office secretary, he is there to collect a check. We arrived 10mins before the appointment, checked in and he said we would be brought back in a couple of seconds. 25mins later we still had not been called back. The secretary never notified us of anything, my husband had to go up there to find out what was going on. The secretary told us oh yeah we are running 45mins behind, no apology nothing. Then when it was time to go back they stated that my child who is 6years old would need to go back by himself, ummm WHAT!! This is scary! I don't know these people, my son cannot protect himself if they did something wrong to him medically or even worse sexually assault him and I wouldn't even know. I asked to talk to a manager, they said we don't have someone for you to talk to. This was our first time at the dentist. I had never met any of the staff or any of the dentist before. I was never walked through the process of what was going to happen to my child. They had no empathy towards my concerns. I will never go back and advise others who care for the safety of their children you do not bring them here!
