Every time our children move into a new classroom (advance to the next age grouped class), we couldn't imagine having a better teacher than the one they were leaving. Then we'd meet the next teacher and think the exact same thing. Now, after experiencing the entire journey, we can clearly see the incredible gifts each teacher possesses and how intentionally they are matched with the age group they were created to teach. It's something truly special. The administration and teachers don't simply care for children. They partner with families. Every child is deeply known, genuinely loved, and celebrated as an individual. From the warm greetings every morning, to the thoughtful conversations at pickup, to the daily updates that make you feel like you were part of your child's day, you quickly realize your child is so much more than a name on a roster. What amazes me most is the consistency. These teachers serve families from early morning until evening with joy, patience, and genuine enthusiasm. Our daughter talks about her teachers and Ms. Joanna constantly -- they've genuinely become family to her. Even though she finished attending in May, she's still saving up things to share with them the next time she visits. The activities are wonderful too -- music, dance, yoga, and more. My child enrolled as the youngest child in the group, and eventually was one of 2 infants in a program of 9. Approximately 2 months in, we were informed our child developed biting habits (never exhibited at home). We were told this was triggered over the competitiveness of toys and that a next step would be a parent/teacher conference (if warranted) to develop an action plan if the situation got worse. We checked in periodically to track progress and were provided positive/optimistic feedback in that our child was improving (with updates over random biting). To our surprise (without holding the parent/teacher conference), our child was given an immediate 2-week notice to leave and was told that our child had "no hope" and was "frustrated and ready to go off at anytime". This came to us as a shock as we were told "your child is getting better," and next thing we know, our child is kicked out. As many parents may know, finding day care in a 2 week snap of a finger is just about impossible and forces parents in a scatter... as Nature's Explorer's really should know, there are LOOONG daunting wait lists for daycares. Advice to Management: If a next step is a parent/teacher conference, as detailed in your policy/handbook, do follow through and have that Be honest and transparent and inform parents of the real progress of what is happening, false hope with providing limited facts doesn't help Combined with transparency, give a heads up to parents if something like this is coming, give parents the proper ettiquette. You may feel 2 weeks is sufficient, but there are LOOONG daunting wait lists for child daycare Discuss through preventive/corrective plans taken as some parents may not agree with the approach taken

The school also instills life qualities like politeness, kindness, and patience that I don't always see in peers their age. Ms. Mary and the other teachers teach and discipline with kindness and instill a curiosity and love of learning that extends well beyond the school day. And FWIW, when I enrolled my son in elementary school, they said that they love it when kids come from OPM. They mentioned that they are some of the best-behaved and well-prepared children entering into TK and Kinder.

Because of the heart and dedication of the teachers, my son is and eager and capable learner- both emotionally and academically. Over the year and a half that my son was there, he gained independence, learned how to interact and communicate with others, and gained knowledge that will support him in learning for years to come. He can crack an egg better than me, clean up after himself, initiate play with his peers, identify continents and sound out words at 4 years old. I saw the calm of circle time and the sweetness of preschool that I remember from my own childhood. I love the incredible teachers, the setting, and even the charming view of horses on the hillside we pass by each morning. Both of my kids have had such wonderful experiences here. My son received individual attention every day for his interest in reading and writing, and my daughter comes home singing dozens of songs she's learned at school. There is such genuine joy here. I've also noticed a real difference at home. Both of my kids became better about putting away their things, sitting while eating, and following little routines because of the care and consistency of their teachers. Of course, preschoolers are preschoolers, and little conflicts happen at this age. Whenever my son had an issue with another child, the teachers were immediately on top of it, communicated with me, and continued to follow up. Safety is my number one concern when it comes to my kids, and I truly feel that they are safe and cared for here. Another thing I'm so grateful for is the community we found here. My son and I have both made wonderful friendships through the school that have continued even beyond preschool, which has made our experience there even more special. Each week my daughter seems to come home with a new craft. We loved the small class ratios, no screen environment, gardening, cooking classes, Spanish, Chinese, tap, yoga and amazing crafts they came home with & adorable musical productions. They were taught a worldly view & the teachers always seem to have a calm & zen way about them. By the time my girls went to public school, they were way ahead & more than ready. WMS staff always responded quickly through their Brightwheel App. We always got quick responses from the teachers Ms Norma, Ms Mary, Ms Gloria and Ms Candice and their principal Ms Rhoda who was also a teacher there for decades before now owning this adorable little school. Our 2 lil girls still come back for their summer program and now their incredible after school program too. They talk about how much they miss this school & the love they received from these teachers. There is no other magical place like this in town. They were the first Montessori school in Ventura I believe in 1969. One of the other things I really love & appreciate about it is how they have easy dropoff and a nice lil parking lot and a secure location. If I could give this school 10 stars I would, highly recommend!!

In that time, she has learned words in Spanish and Chinese, practiced zumba, tap dance, and ballet, and regularly shows me the yoga poses she learns. She can write not just her own name, but several dozen words. She can do basic addition and subtraction. She has learned compassion towards not just her fellow classmates, but compassion towards all living things. She has adored every teacher she has had, and every one has been cherished by our family. Our daughter started in the infant room at 8 months old, and at 16 months, she's thriving. The love and genuine care these teachers show is truly heartwarming, and it's clear they play an important role in her development and happiness.
