Safia provides a well rounded program with academics, play, sports, music, and art. She is accommodating to the physical, academic, and emotional needs of each child. My youngest child is deaf with cochlear implants. Safia has been such a blessing with his care, she's learned sign language and has accommodated his other needs. I believe he is so well adjusted and thriving because of her. My oldest recently started TK, after 3 years with Safia, and I believe she was well prepared for her school. It's hard to imagine our life without Safia, she is truly one of the best educators/humans we have ever met. We cannot thank her enough for the exceptional care our children have received.

It's always nerve wracking leaving the most important (helpless) person in your life in the care of others, and we have never doubted ours was in good hands. From the start when our baby would not take bottles, all the way to potty-training, and everything in between, Safia patiently worked with baby and me to calm my anxious-mama nerves and get us on track. Our child is happy, safe, learning, socializing and loved here. The days are structured with lesson plans, sports, art, cooking, math, spelling, etc. They are fed healthy, adventurous meals. By 18 months old, our little one was counting to 20, singing ABCs verbatim (and many other songs), knew colors & shapes and continues to be a great listener and thinker (as far as toddlers go, lol). All the little friends seem happy to go to "school" each morning and parents get updates and chances to talk every day. We had our other child in a big preschool/childcare center where they got lots of play-based learning in large groups, however it was at the expense of teacher/staff stability and regulator in-depth communication, which is so important that this young age. Furthermore, with ever-present COVID and other childhood illnesses, a smaller circle seems like a good way buffer the field. All in all, we highly recommend Safia's to all our friends.

My 2.5 year old loves going to school and runs from me when I come to pick her up. She wants to stay and that is vastly different from her last school. We are very happy with our decision, and would wholeheartedly recommend Crossroads to other families who are looking for Childcare. It was our first time putting our son in non-family childcare and so understandably we were a bit nervous, however watching him grow and come home and talking about his friends is simply amazing. Crossroads is located at the church (Methodist), and they do teach age-appropriate bible learning. My family is non-denominational, however I think it is important to expose children to different things/teaching. My son will come home and explain to me the stories that he has heard (IE Jonah and the Whale) and also the teachings that he has heard (Sharing, Being Kind..all things that EVERYONE should know and SUPPORT!). Ms. Gordon (the program Director) explained that they would be sharing the teachings, but also that the program is open to everyone regardless of belief. I honestly find it very cute to hear a 4-year olds recollection of a Bible Tale. The staff is all awesome. Ms. Gordon, Ms. Theresa, Ms. Elizabeth. Mr. Ron (the cook) is literally all my son talks about. He gets snack and lunch provided by the school and it is often things like quesadillas, sliders, fruit, vegetables, milk, cereal, granola bars. It has definitely increased the types of food my son is willing to try. Communication from the school is awesome and they take safety as a top priority. I've had a few times where my son has fallen and scraped a knee and I have always gotten an accident/incident report and he always tells me that "teacher" takes care of it and put on a bandaid or a cool pack. Every once and a while the school will have events for parents (hindered by COVID obviously) but we have had Muffins in the Morning and got to go and join our student to make crafts, I really do love these events. The school takes a lot of COVID precautions (sanitizing, hand washing, and all adults wear masks) and I appreciate that the children do not have to wear masks (I personally feel its unrealistic to expect small children to wear masks all day in the California heat). There have only been 2 COVID incidents (one student as close contact to a family member, one confirmed case) since the pandemic began, and I think that speaks volumes for how much the staff cares and takes care of the school. Also, when there was a shutdown due to a case the school was very open and realistic in reaching out to parents and coming to an agreement (individually with each affected family) regarding tuition re-imbursement/payment for that month. Also the price is very, very, very, good for the quality of care and the learning and fun that my son gets to have there. Overall, I have nothing but good things to say about Crossroads and their staff. I really do recommend them for childcare.

I have been unsure of wether to leave a review with my experience here, but after a while I believe…read moreit's the right thing to do to ensure other kids don't have to go through what my daughter went through and the most recent review from a former staff member just solidified my concerns. I had a very upsetting experience at this daycare and feel it's important to share so other parents can make an informed decision. My 1.5-year-old daughter attended this program for a short time, she was continuously getting hurt and no one seemed to know what happened , with the exception of 3 times when it finally got addressed right after and incident occurred and that week she was kicked in the face by by a kid on a swing, TWICE, two back to back days while outside on the playground. Both times, we had to visit the doctor to make sure she was okay. When I brought my concerns to the owner, instead of showing care or accountability, she blamed me and even my baby, saying it was my daughter's fault for not knowing how to walk properly and that she was a " late walker and that "she would learn." I was shocked -- she's only a year and a half old and still learning to walk steadily. Let alone on the hilly playground area they have . Any parent knows even 3- to 5-year-olds need close supervision around swings, let alone a toddler. The director also chalked up to injury description as a " raspberry" when in fact it was a big skid that covered almost one side of her little face. Both times! I was made to feel completely gaslit and blamed when all I wanted was to make sure my child was safe. Several of my close friends -- including ones who've owned or worked in childcare -- read the text exchanges and reassured me that the way this was handled was not normal or acceptable. Beyond that, I often arrived to pick up my daughter and found her unsupervised or in unsafe situations -- once she was literally eating sand, with sand inside her water cup, and no staff had even noticed me walk in. I also noticed repeated issues with hygiene: dirty diapers not being changed promptly, and even other children's wipes being used on Nora's face after I specifically brought sensitive wipes for her as had sensitive skin and allergies, and she came home every day with rashes all over her face. It was a heartbreaking and stressful experience, but I withdrew her immediately and enrolled her in a new daycare. Her new program has 10-20 years of experience and excellent reviews, and they confirmed that incidents like these should have been properly documented and reported -- and that what happened to us would never be considered acceptable. They also told me I was the 3rd parent/family that week who had transferred from this same daycare for similar or other concerning reasons. To make matters worse, I later heard that coyotes had been spotted just outside the school's fence from another parent, yet no communication or warning was sent to parents about it. I'm a gentle and trusting person, and I truly wanted this to work, but the lack of accountability, safety, and professionalism here left me deeply disappointed and worried for other families. I hope my experience helps protect other children from going through what my daughter did. Screenshots of my conversations with the director and the injuries she sustained there within her two months attending She also tried to say I wasn't a good fit because I was having " issues with CCRC" when the truth was my counselor at CCRC told me to use that excuse to leave because I hate confrontation and wanted to leave peacefully, that was before my daughter got knocked out twice by the swing.
