Both of our daughters started as tiny babies in her care. Our first stayed for 3 years, and our second for 2 and they absolutely thrived! 3 years of drop-offs where my kids would sprint inside because they couldn't wait to see her and their buddies. And each day they were met with lots of love from Mrs. Evoun. As new parents, it was hard to hand our baby over at just a few months old but very quickly, Evoun made us feel at peace. She doesn't just keep your kids safe but truly treats each one as her own. She is nurturing and intentional with each kiddo. She celebrates the kids through their milestones, helped us potty train, and provides home cooked meals which was a lifesaver for working parents like us. Being a working parent herself, she understands the twists and turns of life and was very helpful and accommodating to us when it came to things such as a flat tire, work emergencies, and when I was in labor with our second daughter! We ended up moving away and miss her every single day. If you are able to get a spot with Evoun, take it. We are so grateful for the loving, joyful foundation she gave us and our girls. So much so.. that we are a bit scared to trust anyone else with our kids because she is JUST THAT GOOD!

From the moment we toured, the space felt warm and welcoming, the children were clearly connected to their teachers, and the director immediately made us feel at ease. The teachers are incredibly kind, patient, and genuinely interested in each child. Miss Kay is especially wonderful. My son talks about her constantly, including on weekends, which feels like the highest compliment a toddler can give. He also speaks positively about the other teachers he interacts with, which says a lot. I have seen them handle end-of-day toddler meltdowns with calm and grace, which honestly feels like a superpower. Since starting, we have seen so much growth in our son's independence and emotional regulation. He loves doing things himself and often repeats phrases like "we keep our hands to ourselves" and "sharing is caring," sometimes while correcting me. The classroom environment feels calm but still stimulating, and the small class sizes make it clear that each child is truly known. We also love that they offer exposure to different languages along with extracurriculars like dance and sports. There is truly no better feeling than dropping your child off and having them be so excited to be there that they do not even notice you leaving. Knowing your child feels safe and happy enough to run into the classroom means you can walk out, go to Starbucks, and drink your coffee while it is still warm, in peace and quiet. That alone is priceless. I highly recommend this school to parents looking for a nurturing, structured Montessori environment that supports independence, kindness, and parents' sanity.

The Director Ms. Sumali is absolutely phenomenal and has created an environment where the children can learn and thrive. The activities are thoughtful and creative and my daughter loves going to school. The teachers in all of the classrooms are extremely child-centered and they all seem to embrace individuality. There is a professionalism in this school that I have not experienced elsewhere. I feel incredibly safe there and the facility itself is beautiful. The classrooms are well-taken care of and it is always clean. There is a strong community feel and the parent base is lovely. Because the children are all well-taken care of it feels like their is a sense of happiness that is felt all around. I am so thankful to this school and the amazing staff!!

My 2.5 year old loves going to school and runs from me when I come to pick her up. She wants to stay and that is vastly different from her last school. My son has been coming to Crossroads for a while now. My husband and I based our choice on not only…read morethe previous Yelp reviews, but also the recommendations of numerous (20+) mothers in a mothers group I am on in Simi Valley. We are very happy with our decision, and would wholeheartedly recommend Crossroads to other families who are looking for Childcare. It was our first time putting our son in non-family childcare and so understandably we were a bit nervous, however watching him grow and come home and talking about his friends is simply amazing. Crossroads is located at the church (Methodist), and they do teach age-appropriate bible learning. My family is non-denominational, however I think it is important to expose children to different things/teaching. My son will come home and explain to me the stories that he has heard (IE Jonah and the Whale) and also the teachings that he has heard (Sharing, Being Kind..all things that EVERYONE should know and SUPPORT!). Ms. Gordon (the program Director) explained that they would be sharing the teachings, but also that the program is open to everyone regardless of belief. I honestly find it very cute to hear a 4-year olds recollection of a Bible Tale. The staff is all awesome. Ms. Gordon, Ms. Theresa, Ms. Elizabeth. Mr. Ron (the cook) is literally all my son talks about. He gets snack and lunch provided by the school and it is often things like quesadillas, sliders, fruit, vegetables, milk, cereal, granola bars. It has definitely increased the types of food my son is willing to try. Communication from the school is awesome and they take safety as a top priority. I've had a few times where my son has fallen and scraped a knee and I have always gotten an accident/incident report and he always tells me that "teacher" takes care of it and put on a bandaid or a cool pack. Every once and a while the school will have events for parents (hindered by COVID obviously) but we have had Muffins in the Morning and got to go and join our student to make crafts, I really do love these events. The school takes a lot of COVID precautions (sanitizing, hand washing, and all adults wear masks) and I appreciate that the children do not have to wear masks (I personally feel its unrealistic to expect small children to wear masks all day in the California heat). There have only been 2 COVID incidents (one student as close contact to a family member, one confirmed case) since the pandemic began, and I think that speaks volumes for how much the staff cares and takes care of the school. Also, when there was a shutdown due to a case the school was very open and realistic in reaching out to parents and coming to an agreement (individually with each affected family) regarding tuition re-imbursement/payment for that month. Also the price is very, very, very, good for the quality of care and the learning and fun that my son gets to have there. Overall, I have nothing but good things to say about Crossroads and their staff. I really do recommend them for childcare.

Safia provides a well rounded program with academics, play, sports, music, and art. She is accommodating to the physical, academic, and emotional needs of each child. My youngest child is deaf with cochlear implants. Safia has been such a blessing with his care, she's learned sign language and has accommodated his other needs. I believe he is so well adjusted and thriving because of her. My oldest recently started TK, after 3 years with Safia, and I believe she was well prepared for her school. It's hard to imagine our life without Safia, she is truly one of the best educators/humans we have ever met. We cannot thank her enough for the exceptional care our children have received.

It's always nerve wracking leaving the most important (helpless) person in your life in the care of others, and we have never doubted ours was in good hands. From the start when our baby would not take bottles, all the way to potty-training, and everything in between, Safia patiently worked with baby and me to calm my anxious-mama nerves and get us on track. Our child is happy, safe, learning, socializing and loved here. The days are structured with lesson plans, sports, art, cooking, math, spelling, etc. They are fed healthy, adventurous meals. By 18 months old, our little one was counting to 20, singing ABCs verbatim (and many other songs), knew colors & shapes and continues to be a great listener and thinker (as far as toddlers go, lol). All the little friends seem happy to go to "school" each morning and parents get updates and chances to talk every day. We had our other child in a big preschool/childcare center where they got lots of play-based learning in large groups, however it was at the expense of teacher/staff stability and regulator in-depth communication, which is so important that this young age. Furthermore, with ever-present COVID and other childhood illnesses, a smaller circle seems like a good way buffer the field. All in all, we highly recommend Safia's to all our friends.
