Was not for us. Felt kind of cold and institutionalized. The environment also didn't feel exactly warm, bright as we had hoped for our child

I never stated anything about whether your facility was is compliance with state licensing regulations, which are the bare minimum requirments for all licensed child care facilities and nothing to be bragging about. You say things like that your policies are "clearly communicated," with no such explanation of what you mean, when I provided factual details and pages of "critical context." You have now accussed me of "repeated concerns regarding hostile communication and ongoing disruptive interactions with staff." For the prospective families reading this, I implore you, Ms. Peggy, to define what your definitions of "hostile communication" and "ongoing disruptive interactions" and "combative" are. I also give you permission to state what dates and claims about me you are even referring to, but make sure to to include "critical context" without being "inaccurate" or "misleading" when doing so. Parents need to be aware that you were never around during the incidents I described, so you have no basis for knowing whether anything I described was inaccurate. I asked a lot of questions that your staff didn't like and 1st I was called "rude" for it and now that I documented my experiences, you are trying to label me "hostile." Shame on you. This is basic mean girl bullying and the wrong way to respond to a review because it is not 5 stars.

If you are looking for a preschool where the teachers care and they all feel like family, this place is it! The location is excellent and they have a wonderful outdoor play area so our children get exposed to the outdoors and are not sitting inside all day. It's also easy to get to since it is near the 23 freeway and sunset hills. It's easy to get back on the freeway to/from work. We are so glad this place exists and feel so lucky to send our daughter here. I strongly recommend this place for preschool!! It is the best in the area.

The program is thoughtfully organized with a great mix of free exploration and structured activities, all designed with toddlers' development in mind. Each week had new, well-curated stations and age-appropriate toys that kept things engaging and fun. Our son especially loved the music portion, including a session with a guitarist singing songs with the children. Angela, the program director, and her team were incredibly welcoming, warm, and communicative throughout the program. They did a wonderful job making the space feel inviting and safe for both toddlers and their caregivers, whether parents, grandparents, or nannies. That was especially meaningful for little ones who may not have had prior school experience yet. The staff was fantastic with the children and clearly cared deeply about creating a nurturing environment. You can really see the love and thought they put into everything, from the classroom setup to the outdoor play areas. Overall, Toddler and Me was a great value and wonderful exposure for our son. I would highly recommend it to any parent or caregiver looking for a warm, enriching program for their toddler.

My experience with the school was unique in that my son had been enrolled at another preschool for several years prior to me deciding to move him to Segray. Unfortunately, his prior school was suffering from administrative and staffing challenges that were significantly affecting my son, leaving me no choice but to seek out a new school for him at the end of his pre-K year and just two months before he was set to begin Kindergarten. A friend referred me to Segray and suggested I reach out to Annette and Abby about enrolling. I was very upfront with both of them about the challenges we'd experienced and the effect it was having on my son. They could not have been more welcoming, understanding and supportive - things I was in desperate need of after feeling a lack of support at the prior school. They welcomed my son into the classroom and worked very closely with us to calm my nerves and ensure my son felt supported and welcome in his new school. As you'll see immediately upon touring the school, it's a very inspired and beautiful environment. What you may not get to see during a short tour is how warm and happy the staff and teachers are, and as a result - how happy the kids are. In just two short months at Segray my son overcame the social challenges he'd experienced at his previous school, and most importantly he rediscovered his love of school. I will forever be grateful for Segray's ability to offer our family a more joyous and peaceful last couple of months of preschool and for the care, attention and compassion they offered our family during every interaction.

I have been unsure of wether to leave a review with my experience here, but after a while I believe…read moreit's the right thing to do to ensure other kids don't have to go through what my daughter went through and the most recent review from a former staff member just solidified my concerns. I had a very upsetting experience at this daycare and feel it's important to share so other parents can make an informed decision. My 1.5-year-old daughter attended this program for a short time, she was continuously getting hurt and no one seemed to know what happened , with the exception of 3 times when it finally got addressed right after and incident occurred and that week she was kicked in the face by by a kid on a swing, TWICE, two back to back days while outside on the playground. Both times, we had to visit the doctor to make sure she was okay. When I brought my concerns to the owner, instead of showing care or accountability, she blamed me and even my baby, saying it was my daughter's fault for not knowing how to walk properly and that she was a " late walker and that "she would learn." I was shocked -- she's only a year and a half old and still learning to walk steadily. Let alone on the hilly playground area they have . Any parent knows even 3- to 5-year-olds need close supervision around swings, let alone a toddler. The director also chalked up to injury description as a " raspberry" when in fact it was a big skid that covered almost one side of her little face. Both times! I was made to feel completely gaslit and blamed when all I wanted was to make sure my child was safe. Several of my close friends -- including ones who've owned or worked in childcare -- read the text exchanges and reassured me that the way this was handled was not normal or acceptable. Beyond that, I often arrived to pick up my daughter and found her unsupervised or in unsafe situations -- once she was literally eating sand, with sand inside her water cup, and no staff had even noticed me walk in. I also noticed repeated issues with hygiene: dirty diapers not being changed promptly, and even other children's wipes being used on Nora's face after I specifically brought sensitive wipes for her as had sensitive skin and allergies, and she came home every day with rashes all over her face. It was a heartbreaking and stressful experience, but I withdrew her immediately and enrolled her in a new daycare. Her new program has 10-20 years of experience and excellent reviews, and they confirmed that incidents like these should have been properly documented and reported -- and that what happened to us would never be considered acceptable. They also told me I was the 3rd parent/family that week who had transferred from this same daycare for similar or other concerning reasons. To make matters worse, I later heard that coyotes had been spotted just outside the school's fence from another parent, yet no communication or warning was sent to parents about it. I'm a gentle and trusting person, and I truly wanted this to work, but the lack of accountability, safety, and professionalism here left me deeply disappointed and worried for other families. I hope my experience helps protect other children from going through what my daughter did. Screenshots of my conversations with the director and the injuries she sustained there within her two months attending She also tried to say I wasn't a good fit because I was having " issues with CCRC" when the truth was my counselor at CCRC told me to use that excuse to leave because I hate confrontation and wanted to leave peacefully, that was before my daughter got knocked out twice by the swing.

My daughter moved to Nature's Explorers after being at a larger childcare center in TO and I have noticed major, positive improvements to her mood, patience, and social skills. They also do a good job in taking pictures and sending activity updates. Cons: My situation could be circumstantial, however, our child enrolled here at the 12 month mark through 18 months. My child enrolled as the youngest child in the group, and eventually was one of 2 infants in a program of 9. Approximately 2 months in, we were informed our child developed biting habits (never exhibited at home). We were told this was triggered over the competitiveness of toys and that a next step would be a parent/teacher conference (if warranted) to develop an action plan if the situation got worse. We checked in periodically to track progress and were provided positive/optimistic feedback in that our child was improving (with updates over random biting). To our surprise (without holding the parent/teacher conference), our child was given an immediate 2-week notice to leave and was told that our child had "no hope" and was "frustrated and ready to go off at anytime". This came to us as a shock as we were told "your child is getting better," and next thing we know, our child is kicked out. As many parents may know, finding day care in a 2 week snap of a finger is just about impossible and forces parents in a scatter... as Nature's Explorer's really should know, there are LOOONG daunting wait lists for daycares. Advice to Management: If a next step is a parent/teacher conference, as detailed in your policy/handbook, do follow through and have that Be honest and transparent and inform parents of the real progress of what is happening, false hope with providing limited facts doesn't help Combined with transparency, give a heads up to parents if something like this is coming, give parents the proper ettiquette. You may feel 2 weeks is sufficient, but there are LOOONG daunting wait lists for child daycare Discuss through preventive/corrective plans taken as some parents may not agree with the approach taken
