I was shocked when the vet called back within minutes and said that someone would meet me at the clinic and that although she was almost home, that she would turn around and go back. Both were so incredible in their compassion, attention to detail and all bodily systems that could be affected. All aspects were openly discussed at a level that I understood and respectful of my almost 30 years of people medicine (complete with education of the differences between people and dog pathophysiology). His weight is good and the vet explained signs of hip dysplasia which German Shepherds are prone to later in life. This dog had been in a shelter 310 days and now is living his best life.

From the first phone call to check out it was a great experience! Everyone was SO friendly! We were led into the exam room within just a couple minutes of arriving. They drew the blood needed for the heartworm etc testing right there in the exam room and did the exam and vaccinations in there too. The previous vet took them out of the room and away from us which I do not care for. Everyone was so friendly and explained things thoroughly and patiently and pleasantly answered our questions. East Central was by far the worst vet clinic I have ever experienced. We had a dog who was reactive…read morebecause he was very scared of going to the vet. The doctor at East Central wouldn't give my dog vaccines, even with my dog muzzled because he was afraid of my dog! We tried 3 different appointments (my son even went to a visit and held my dog while he was muzzled so it was easier for the vet) and the doctor was "too scared" to give my dog a shot at all 3 appts. We ended up taking our dog elsewhere for his vaccines and she got them done in a matter of minutes. Even when my dog was a puppy at his first visit at roughly 8 weeks old, the vet was scared of him. He told us he's more of a cat person! I understand that reactive dogs can be intimidating however, don't be a vet if you're afraid of animals! It was absolutely ridiculous. When we had to put our dog down, ECV was pretty cold about the entire situation, and it took over a month to get our pets ashes back!! I had to call them several times to follow up and get updated because ECV staff did not communicate. The entire experience with ECV was nothing but negative. I wouldn't bring my pets there if I was paid to do so.
