in my opinion the coffee is great. The service is a little slow sometimes, however it's still my favorite place to stop at.

My coffee came out great. My issue is with them holding up a tablet and asking you to say out loud if you want to tip and how much. That is the tackiest, most unprofessional method I've ever seen. So if I say no, who knows if my coffee turns out good. And tipping before even receiving the product makes ZERO sense. Bottom line: It's none of their business how much I decide to tip- they should either hand the tablet to you, or DO NOT ASK. For that alone, I'll never go back. read more

I hate leaving one star reviews, however the coffee and espresso shots are terrible. It's also disappointing because the staff always seems annoyed, which is understandable in customer service,. The tiny drive-thru espresso stand was so much better. Then some idiot decided to build a gargantuan of a building and slapping on a generic, monotonous name that's supposed to resonate adventure but immensely fails. That's harsh, but I basically spent half my years growing up in McCall, so my distaste for this Dutch Bro's aspirant is strong. Furthermore, the service is lacking. Twice I've spent 5 minutes at the window before anyone acknowledged my presence. Once, no one showed up despite the window being wide open. Don't even get me started in their stamp card program - it's a joke. To add insult to injury, the coffee sucks. I think it might be more along the lines of the water you squeeze out of a dirty rag with some coffee granules to try to disguise it. Absolutely horrendous. The only good item I've ever gotten here is the Thai Ice Tea, but the price nearly had me rolling on the floor. $10.00 for a large drink?! That's full of ice! At least it was still decent, or I would have asked for my money back. I never thought I would say this but man, thank God for the Starbucks at Albertson's. Also, Fogglifter Cafe is decent if you don't mind the lack of drive-thru convenience. read more

My grandmother and I were excited to try this place for the start of our long road trip home. There were several people in front of us which we took to mean... Good beverages. Our thought was horribly wrong. It took longer than usual at the window that we ordered, and because we were driving around the stand to pick up our order we thought we were going to revive good to fast service. It took more time than we have ever experienced to order and pay. We drove around and waited at least 5 minutes for our order. The latte was watery and we asked for it to be warm and they disregarded our request and made it hot. I had a can of red bull and I thought I will just order ice and flavoring in a cup. I now realize when I order something like a normal red bull with flavoring, apparently they only add a little bit of a Red Bull. So red bull drinkers be aware!!!! There is way to much flavoring in the red bull and all you can taste is the excessive amount of flavoring. We also ordered a lemon poppyseed muffin, it was dry!! We also ordered two chocolate chip cookies and they are not freshly made. I tapped one of the cookies on that dash and it sounded rock hard. Best time we will forgo the convenience of drive through windows, and go to Starbucks in Albertsons! read more

They were really nice girls, but the coffee was so terrible that neither of us could drink ours. Yes, we are from the Seattle area but I didn't think we were that picky. It tasted really burnt (and I can stand the big chain "burnt" stuff). The burrito was okay. The ham and egg sandwich tasted fine but dripped grease everywhere. I normally hate leaving poor reviews but it was not worth the money. I was sad because it was a cute little spot. Oh, and one side is order and one side is pickup which was not very clear because most stands have two sides that you can go to, so we had to drive back around on the road the wrong way with a big trailer. I like the concept, but some big signs on the order side you can see from a couple cars back would be helpful. read more

We went to Wild River Java everyday while staying in McCall for Winter Carnival. It was right down the street from the place we rented and an easy stop on our way into town each day. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They offer both Seattle's Best as well as a local coffee. I ordered a milky way each time and was never disappointed. The price is very reasonable and you don't have to leave your car thanks to their convenient drive up windows. read more

They didn't have butter for the bagel only cream cheese. The drinks were good and food was hot. We tried Wild River on a Friday morning in lieu of the hotel breakfast coffee. The drinks were scorched so we could not sip them until we got back to the hotel. Disappointed to see Seattle's Best on the cup. Even more disappointed with the drinks. The quad mocha tasted like burnt coffee water with a halfhearted attempt at imitation chocolate. The vanilla latte tasted like gross water with no vanilla. Not sure what flavor they added. The kids hot chocolates tasted like watered down, bitter stir in chocolate powder. Last time we were here they were in process of building their new, upgraded building. We decided to get a road coffee the drive down. Their new building is really pretty and fits in with the McCall feel. It has a functional drive thru. You order at one window so they can get all the orders completed. You make a quick turn around to the other side and BOOM, there is your drink. They were quick, friendly and made sure our drinks were satisfactory. Yelp shows they are closed on Sunday's but they were hopping! Hopefully they keep Sunday hours! read more

There's not a ton of breakfast places in McCall so I at least needed a good coffee on the way out of town back to Boise. We came across Wild River Java (Yelp said it was closed on Sundays but luckily it was open!). The coffee was delicious, I ordered my typical Almond Joy that I will often get at coffee shops. I was starving and luckily they had breakfast burritos and sandwiches on the menu so that made me happy. I ordered a breakfast burrito and sadly my happiness was gone in the first bite, it was so gross. Tasted like a bad version of other frozen burritos I have had. Don't get the breakfast, I can only imagine what the sandwich is like after that experience. I'd go back for the coffee! read more

You never know what expect for quality of coffee in a resort area especially during the off season. Their coffee is outstanding- as good as any coffee shop I've been to in both east coast and west coast. It is a bit pricey but I don't mind pay especially when you are getting fresh made to order hot coffee. read more

Ordered two large iced mochas with flavor. They were HORRIBLE. I am a coffee fanatic and worked coffee for years, even with that background I'm not exactly sure what they did to make it that bad. Also, my husband is not a huge coffee person but even he thought it was horrible. First, it took them 5 min to make 2 drinks - that's a long time. First one came out with beautiful crema, and the right amount of cream and my wife was happy. Second one came out and we headed down the road. I took a taste of mine and it tasted funny. After a second taste, I looked under the lid to find a barely brown liquid with no cream, nothing even close to what my wife received? How can two exact orders, prepared back to back be so different, and one be so terrible and really un-drinkable? No consistency to say the least. Won't go back. read more

Had a triple Americano with cream and 2 sugars. Was pretty good and the staff was friendly with a wait time under 5 minutes (walk up). Seems like my drink was the same price no matter the size (second time there, each time a different size). Pricing is a tad more than I'm comfortable with, at five bucks including tip coffee is twenty percent more than typical, but this is a tourist town...that being said ill look forward to returning. read more

I stopped here on my way out of town after being in McCall for winter carnival, and all I can say is the experience was horrifying. Coffee shops are pretty standard, and I feel that in general it's hard to have a truly bad experience getting coffee, but this place managed it. Let's start with the customer service, which was atrocious. The girl at the drive thru made it clear she simply did not care in the slightest about what she was doing. I ordered a chai, my boyfriend ordered a smoothie since they advertised all natural fruit smoothies. We each ordered a breakfast sandwich, and when I added that to the order, I actually noticed the girl rolling her eyes. Um...sorry I'm making you throw some stuff in the microwave..? After waiting a full 10 minutes, we got our stuff. The smoothie tasted ok, but was clearly not "all natural fruit." It tasted like a sherbet shake with some otter pop syrup thrown in. But the worst was the sandwiches--they were soggy and completely frozen in the middle. My boyfriend eats absolutely anything, and he took one bite and spit it out. There were chunks of ice in the sausage. I had one bite of my egg and cheese, and it was cold but at least no ice chunks. At this point I was annoyed and we turned around and came back to ask for a refund on the food. I made sure not to be a jerk about it, I just explained that the breakfast sandwiches are still frozen and could I get a refund. The girl didn't bat an eye, didn't apologize, and didn't offer anything in compensation. She simply took the bag and tossed it, and handed me some cash from the register without a word.
