It's good to see that you're finally responding, though it seems to be more about defending your actions regarding the issues with our wedding video rather than addressing the real concerns. Despite multiple attempts to contact you -including through our attorney- you have failed to respond. However, you quickly showed up when it was time to justify your actions and make further misleading statements.
I want to take this opportunity to clarify the situation and ensure that other couples are aware of the unprofessional experience we had with your team. I will make it a priority to share our experience, so others do not go through the same frustration we endured.
We never requested what you refer to as a "traditional documentary style." What we wanted was full coverage of our day, resulting in a cohesive and well-crafted movie. Unfortunately, the so-called "cinematic" video you provided is missing some of our most important moments, such as the first dance and the bride's father's speech. Additionally, the editing is poorly done, with key moments abruptly cut and music awkwardly altered. This is far from the experience we had hoped for.
It hurts meme to read that you imply I begged you to film our wedding. I was initially drawn to your work because of the short clips featured on your website, which is where I feel misled. Had I seen one of your full-length videos -especially one with so many key moments missing or poorly filmed- I would never have reached out to you in the first place.
We had a last-minute wedding, and it took me considerable time to find a crew available for our date. Initially, you promised to be there in person, but ultimately, you sent Charles instead. Though after seeing the final result, I now realize that your presence wouldn't have made much of a difference.
Before the wedding, I had a detailed conversation with Charles Guinto and specifically asked him to fully capture our important moments. I was fine with the "cinematic" editing style you mentioned, as long as we had enough raw footage to work with. However, out of the 12 hours of coverage we paid for, only 1.5 hours of our wedding was filmed, and much of it was shot in 1-2 minute segments!
Are you seriously justifying the fact that our first dance which wan no more than 2 minutes was recorded incomplete, and you call that "cinematic"? This is not what we agreed upon, and it's incredibly disappointing.
It's very overwhelming to hear you claim that capturing our two-minute dance is not your "style." This is important for couples to know: if you're planning a choreographed dance that you've spent hours perfecting, don't expect it to be fully captured by Steven Kopacz or his team- even if you've communicated the importance of the moment beforehand and received confirmation!
It's painful to continue reading more falsehoods from you. I saw Charles stop filming our dance in one of the videos that our guests took. A few days after the wedding, I asked him if he had another camera recording it fully, and he lied, claiming that he had filmed the entire dance. However, when we didn't see it in the final video, you then apologized, citing a "card malfunction." This is completely misleading and dishonest, and I have the email exchanges to prove it if you need to be reminded.
Now you're telling us that you typically film only 1.5 hours of footage? Why, then, do you charge for full-day videography and put those words on your contract? Essentially, Charles was there as a guest, enjoying our wedding, drinking, and filming little more than 7 minutes each hour! Couples reading this should definitely take note of these significant red flags.
You also mentioned waiting for me to get back to you about the video, which I find concerning. I had communicated that I was dealing with serious medical issues and was busy at work and had not yet had time to watch the video. You were aware of this, and we agreed that I would get back to you once I had watched it. To now suggest that my delay in viewing the video means I was satisfied with the result is misleading and dishonest.
Your mention of sharing our communication with future clients for "transparency" is very unethical and unprofessional and a serious violation of privacy. I do not consent to you sharing any personal information, including emails or video footage, without our written permission. I will not hesitate to take legal action if you proceed with this. If other couples would like to view our wedding video to make an informed decision, I'll be happy to share it with them -though I strongly advise they look elsewhere. I will also be posting media here to further illustrate the poor quality of the footage and editing you provided. read more
