I came here after hearing about it from a relative who works a few blocks away. It was near St. Paddy's day but we did not want corned beef. We got steaks, and some wrapped with bacon! I like how the store is organized by protein types. The staff was helpful but not intrusive. The prices were elevated but not ridiculous. I still usu go to regular grocery stores for meat, but for a special occasion or something different, I'd go back to Wild Fork. read more

Let me just say that I got invited to an event around Thanksgiving. It was a sampling event where we got to try out foods that they offered in store. I just read another review below that said it's also for easy prep meals, adventurous meats, and seafood galore. I came back to Wild fork tonight because I remembered that they said they had a lot of easy meals for those who didn't feel like cooking. I grabbed the chicken curry (family size) and the mashed sweet potatoes (also family size). I came home and followed the directions as stated... and now I'm obsessed! This curry is amazing and so easy to make. The sweet potatoes shouldn't be paired up with the chicken curry together but still a delicious choice. read more

I was in Costco asking for smaller portions and someone overheard me and told me to come here for great quality meat. Just moved here, so I was happy to find it! This place is open as of 2 years ago. The first thing you notice is that the place is spotless and immaculate and everything is easy to see. This store used to be a former bank so there is a drive through where there's free parking. All the meat is packaged and vacuum sealed in clear plastic. There are many different pieces and ranges of types of meat as well as fish, and also frozen vegetables and prepackaged cooked seafood, as well as dessert in boxes. There are pre-cooked seafood bundles, as well as pre-cut ginger, garlic, and parsley, for example. They are in perfect portioned sizes for cooking. Prices are reasonable. The quality of the products are somewhat better here as they have some grass fed meat and wild caught items. and they are trying to be kind to the environment (see pics). Thank you! read more

Buyer beware. I ordered same day delivery from West Loop location. Everything arrived frozen. Center cut filet mignon proved to be spoiled when thawed out to be cooked. The smell was absolutely disgusting. Wild Fork takes no accountability for sending inedible product. My request for store credit (not a refund) was denied. Wild Fork cited their policy: any issues need to be reported within 24 hours. This policy does not make sense for a place where every item is frozen. Unless you are planning to buy products to be used the next day, shopping here is a gamble, especially for meat. I am posting a review here because it has been three days and is still not on Wild Fork's website/app. read more

Proteins here are really good. I didn't love the customer service after my order got messed up though. Delivery was a flop and I didn't hear back about it until two days later. I ended up having to place a whole other order for pickup since they couldn't send a replacement out same day. Other than that though, really awesome stuff here. My sister thought it was really cool that it was a store dedicated to proteins. I've gotten chicken, steaks, lamb and they were all amazing. They really got it down here. They freeze their proteins at peak freshness and I've never had any issues with the food itself. read more

Really interesting, dedicated meat market with the overall theme of flash freezing everything, allowing for a massive variety and selection. ATMOSPHERE/ARCHITECTURE: 9/10 Really nice, neat place that is compact but still offers such a large variety of options that I am inspired to cook just from seeing what they have here. FOOD: 10/10 Honestly, the selection of meats here is amazing. What is great is they had a great set of options for pho bones. Fantastic bone marrow shank bones that looked and frankly was quite delicious in making soup broth. They also had oxtail and overall, many, many options that simply are not in your usual American grocery stores. The selection is great and I was very impressed with the quality as well. The frozen meats does not seem to degrade the quality, at least what I tried here. VALUE: 8/10 A touch more expensive than if you found it at another place, but the problem is what they carry most other places do not, so as a one stop shop, I think the value is relatively fair to even good. PROBABILITY OF RETURN: 10/10 I am already planning to come back here. This place will become my new raw material supplier for pho! TO EAT OR NOT TO EAT: Yes, get your meats here! I drive down Monroe often so I eagerly awaited the opening of this place. I did a little research and this is their first Chicago store. They are more prevalent in Florida. They are a subsidiary of a South American company which is a big meat distributor in the US. Everything is frozen - Its frozen fresh at the source. They call it blast freezing and vacuum packed. The selection is mind boggling so maybe to summarize by category: first of all, you can get your standard chicken, beef and pork. Plus they have seafood. Then they have specialty meats like wagyu. Also, they have exotic stuff like venison, ostrich and bison. Being a South American company, they offer a big selection of Argentinian sausages. Highlights for me: everyday meats at good prices and then I can live a lifestyle of the rich and famous splurging on wagyu and a bag of lobster meat. Bonus: free PARKING behind the store. I didn't know they had parking so I parked on the street to check them out for the first time. read more

I just had one of the best experiences shopping for food that I can say I've had in a long time in the city! I'm not sure of the gentleman's name, older guy, but he totally walked me through the best way to meal prep and the best way to handle their frozen products. Because of that, I ended up spending $140 and I'm happy to do it again, great experience, I will definitely be back! read more

4.5 stars but will round to 5 with 2 caveats: - delivery is hit or miss and not my favorite. - had some misses on the prepared foods - the beef bourguignon had way too much bacon, pigs in a blanket were meh and the marinated tri tips are just ok. ok. that's out of the way. things i love - the picanha, the tri tips, the sirloins, the cowboy cut ribeye, the turkey, the hot dogs, wild caught mahi and salmon. I could keep going - the meat is so good and so much less expensive than Whole Foods. Absolutely Terrible. I bought a 9 pound Rib Roast advertised and priced as prime ( $20/ pound). Cooked to a perfect medium rare . Could barely cut it much less chew it. Totally flavorless. What a rip off. I was an early adopter to Wild Fork and a fan. No longer. Go to Costco or pay up at your local meet market. I am done with theses guys. read more

Yummy selections including wagyu meets at different prices points based on size and thickness. Love the tomahawk steaks which are available wagyu and Angus. The price difference is astounding. They have a beautiful display of sides, fish, seafood, beef, duck, veal, specialty meats and seafood. They have sales so you can afford whatever your budget is. Dessert? Oh yes they do. Happened to walk by this place and it was such an interesting concept! Flash frozen food to keep its freshness, and to allow them to distribute all sorts of rare meats that a regular grocer might not carry. I wanted to try every cut of meat, and it was awesome finding harder to find items, like exotic meats (elk, boar, ostrich, alligator, venison, bison, etc), unique cuts (tongue, sweetbreads, veal osso bucco), a variety of seafood, and also what looks like great quality. They also have veggies, apps, and desserts. We got a strawberry cheesecake gelato, which was insanely good. I got a mixed seafood pack, which I made into a paella and the seafood was plump and juicy (though a tinge fishier smelling than I'd like). We also got single portion minced ginger packs, which will be great for cooking Asian food. I'm also excited about the ground veal and Berkshire pork chops we got, which we haven't cooked yet. Poor quality and disappointing service. My mother was coming into town to take care of me after a medical procedure and part of that care was a home cooked meal. Unfortunately, the piece of meat I purchased from WF turned out to be inedible. She cooked the meat the same way she's cooked it for the past 45+ years. However, it would not soften, even after giving it extra time in the oven. I've checked my stove, and everything is working fine. We ended up having to throw away the entire piece of meat as it was not serveable much less edible. Because of my medical procedure, I was unable to get to the store until about 2 weeks later, but had to throw away the meat to prevent it from rotting in my house. As such, WF would not stand behind the product/issue a refund. I had reached out online, where they told me I as due for a refund because of this issue, but I had to go in to the store to get it. The store still would not provide the refund. The online help team apparently reached again to the store, who said they would issue a refund, but I had to go back to the store. At this point, I don't have time, and it with gas prices what they are, I'd probably be losing money. So, buyer beware - quality is not guaranteed, and company is not particularly customer-centric. read more

I was excited about a new meat shop opening up, but was sadly disappointed when I went in. For a shop that specializes in frozen meat, I was surprised to see about 1/3 of the meat with freezer burn. When I commented on this to one of the clerks, he told me that it was impossible because they use a special flash freezing process. I told him to look at the meat and pointed out the clear freezer burn. He did not seem to understand the difference in color. Although some of their prices were very high, there were some prices which seemed in line for what they were selling. read more
