Only REAL Gas Station left in Burnett County! I remember…read more30-40 years ago when Webster alone had 4 REAL Gas Stations. You know, a place that did more than just sell gas. Somewhere that changes oil, fixes cars, sells batteries & tires, fixes tires & has most anything else an average traveler might need for his vehicle. Of course Connors also has cigarettes, lottery tickets, coffee, pop, beer, snacks & some food. Same as the far more common now "Connivence Store" type "gas stations" that might have a "air hose" but have little to nothing else for your vehicle beyond gas & quarts of oil. Since 1940 4 generations of the Connor family has owned & run this REAL Gas Station. My family has been getting our gas & car care there for 6 generations. From my Great Great Grandpa with his Model A Ford to my 21 year old son with his Chevy Van!

So, this brings me to today.... Circle K has lost $91,375 in purchases from just me, since then, & still no place to lock my expensive bike & alternate "green" & healthy form of transportation. There for I am reduced to having to now boycott & picket, this business, & bring in as many locals who also agree on this subject/concern. Picture every person I recruit, not spending this money & going to the "other" conveince store. If you don't care or respect your locals, we don't need you here. Fair Warning! Oh, & for the record, you only make what you are, because of locals like Richard who are working for you. He deserves way more than he gets from this business, as do all of it's employees, Do Better - Be Better!

That pun is a bit of a stretch, LOL.), so I decided to make the two mile detour to check it out, because if nothing else, my husband likes sausage and I figured I could bring him back something yummy. The very first thing I noticed upon arrival is the cute playground they have. If your kiddos need to stretch their legs, this is perfect. There's even old school play equipment like a metal slide, teeter totter, and merry-go-round that Gen Xers and early Millennials such as myself remember fondly and joke invite injury. Also stretching along through here is the Willard Munger State Trail! So if you were traveling that for recreation, TJ's Country Corner would be a perfect stop! The parking lot is a large dirt lot with no lines, so just park where makes sense. Once I parked I noticed they had a nice grassy spot with picnic tables and a pond with an old car that's been turned into a fountain! So funny. But a great spot to relax for a bit on a long drive, if you want. They also have a picnic shelter spot (labeled the "WURST DOME" lol) that they probably use when they're doing community events. This little spot kinda does it all, from what I can tell. They have gasoline, firewood, propane, bagged ice, and a mailbox out front. Inside it was like a mini grocery store with primarily canned/boxed goods, but also some frozen stuff. As advertised by the billboard, there was lots of flavors of sausage to choose from, as the sections of the establishment not available to the public are for meat processing. I noticed a sign on the checkout counter that you can bring in your own meat to have them turn it into sausage for you! Cool! I grabbed the cranberry wild rice sausage and I can tell you (having had it for breakfast this morning) it was indeed tasty! They also had liquor and ice cream. Their bathrooms are really dinky (and gender segregated, pointlessly, since there's not even space for a urinal in the men's that would justify said segregation) but clean and well-lit. The employee at checkout was friendly and in a bright mood.
