These people scammed me out of a tv and a PS4 to cover their own butts after their employee dropped and shattered one of my other TVs.
I had a tv and PS4 on an open pawn ticket with them that I was paying on every month. During this time, I fell on harder times and decided I had better pawn a second tv that I own. So I brought the tv up there, and the employee handling it dropped it and shattered the screen. Management came out and offered to replace the tv for me, so I was thinking "wow! This place really does take care of its customers." Even though I was pretty upset originally when the employee had broken my tv.
Well little did I know that there was a plan in place by management to cover that loss by selling my other stuff right out from under me with no warning. You see, I have used this pawn shop for YEARS. I always make my payments and HAD NEVER LOST AN ITEM I HAD PAWNED. Because Wild Bill's had always been great about communicating with me and making a phone call each month if I was about to miss my payment. Let me repeat that, FOR THE PAST SEVERAL YEARS THEY HAD ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS CALLED ME IF I WAS IN DANGER OF LOSING AN ITEM DUE TO MISSED PAYMENT. However it just so happened that the FIRST MONTH IN HISTORY that they failed to call me about a payment was IMMEDIATELY after having had to replace that tv for me. Coincidence? HA! I'm not stupid.
These people are crooks. When I confronted management, I was called a liar, told that it was my fault, and was offered to SPEND MORE MONEY WITH THEM BY BUYING BACK ITEMS THAT THEY STOLE FROM ME. The manager was rude. The employees are always rude, but it was something I chose to overlook because they had usually been pretty fair in the past with pricing and things of that nature. However, now I see the business's true colors. They are only looking out for their bottom line, customers be damned.
After doing massive amounts of business here for YEARS, I can honestly say I'm disgusted and will NEVER go back. I encourage everyone who reads this to take caution and not engage with such a crooked business. The manager didn't care at all about his employees mistakes, the fact that no one called me last month about my ticket, the fact that I was in tears over this entire fiasco. He literally told me to just buy a tv and PlayStation that they had for sale and basically get over it. He said I should have had it written down and completely dismissed the fact that I had always been able to rely on their phone calls before. His response to that was "we don't even have to call you." In other words, they'll call you if they feel like it. But if they recently lost money on a transaction with you... well then in that case they're gonna choose not to call you in hopes that you'll forget to come in and they can hurry and sell your stuff before you remember. DISGUSTING. The manager sure got awfully uncomfortable when I confronted him with these facts. I don't think he appreciates being called out on his scam. Tell everyone you know! I know I am!
