When I knew I was going to be bringing home, a golden retriever puppy, I contacted KPro K9 Amelia…read moreIsland, FL immediately to set up training for him, so I didn't screw anything up. We eventually wanted him to be a Therapy dog, so I wanted to make sure he learned the appropriate things. Since we had Rayann in St. Mary's for my daughters German Shepherd in Savannah, GA and Evan was so incredibly helpful in every facet of setting it up, I knew I wanted to use them. To find Cassie Hatch was just a cherry on top because she was certified to get some of the titles that lead to being a Therapy dog. Not only is Cassie extremely talented, she works with your schedule and is very organized. She had my puppy doing things so quickly and he absolutely loves her. She always responds when I have questions via text or while she's there with us no matter how dumb it may be. I get anxious when I have to do things in front of people, but Cassie has something special about her to make you comfortable. I hesitate to write too many things about her because then she'll get booked up and I won't get my time with her! I don't plan on stopping training anytime soon and will find everything she can teach him, my husband and me so that he is the best smartest and behaved dog around Thank you to everyone at KPro K9 for everything you do including hiring Cassie who has to be the best trainer I know and we are all crazy about her!

Ryan from K-9 KPro has come to meet my furry little crackhead, Heidi. She is a McNab, which is a…read morebreed of California cattle dog who loves to chase cattle for hours across the northern CA hillsides. She is a constant demon, but the minute he walked in, she was a tranquil-ish, and readily began to (sort of) follow his commands. We originally saw Ryan working with training a dog at St. Johns Town Center on the crowded sidewalks. He had that dog tightly following commands and expected behaviors. The dog looked like they had a "mind meld" with Ryan, because of how well it behaved walking through all the people and cars. Perfect behavior. So we are super excited to begin training next month with the Beginner in-home program. Following that we have already committed to going straight into the Intermediate at-home training. We had a minor hiccup with our original interaction, but the staff made it right quickly. So we appreciate not only a great trainer, but the staff who back up his work was great, also. Can't wait to see what happens with our overly excitable - hyper active little cattle herding pup!

The change is amazing The human follow-up training as part of the paxkage has also addressed where we doggie parents need to focus. The hardest part was leaving her for weeks so Karma K9 could work their behavioral miracle. Our dog cares for the trainers, so we know she was treated well and we were provided with photos, videos and progress reports. Worth every penny!!

My dog recently completed her second obedience course at Karma K9, staying approximately four weeks…read morefor off-leash training. To be fair, after her first course, we did not consistently reinforce the training at home, and she lost some of what she had learned. That was our responsibility. I did see a difference in her after this course, and I'm grateful that she has that foundation back. They demonstrated commands such as "heel," "let's go," and "place," along with training markers. She responded really well in the controlled training environment. Out and about, however, she has difficulty following those same commands when there are distractions. We will continue working with her to build that consistency. My main concern is communication and follow-through. We did not receive any training videos during her stay. When I called to check on her, it was sometimes difficult to reach someone, and responses could take a while. Regular updates would have helped while she was away. We received a seven-page follow-up guide outlining commands, but without videos showing how our dog was trained, it has been difficult to put those written instructions into practice with her at home. Videos of the trainer working with her would have made the guide much more useful. We were also supposed to have follow-up sessions, but those have not been scheduled. I now have to call to get them arranged, especially since we need help carrying the training over into everyday situations. Owners should also know that the dogs sleep in crates at night. If your dog is not accustomed to that, ask about the sleeping arrangements before booking. Overall, I appreciate the foundation she regained, but better communication, training videos, and follow-through on the follow-up sessions would improve the experience.
