Was craving some chili cheese fries and saw the sign so I came by to grab an order. The restaurant is quite small with a few tables to sit and enjoy your food. It's ok clean. Service was good. The cashier greeted me and took my order and even helped my indecisiveness lol. In the end I ordered my chili cheese fries and a diet soda. The chili cheese fries sure hit the spot! It was nostalgic.. because it's been years since I had some. I also added a strawberry funnel cake with no whipped cream and strawberry on the side because I didn't want it to get soggy when I got to where I needed to go before eating. The funnel cake was not worth it really for price size and texture. Definately wouldn't order that again. read more

a minute ago New My first bad review from this location. But today I got a combo and he asked if I wanted cheese on my chili dogs. Of course not....fast forward after trick or treating finally get a moment to eat my chili dog and to my surprise no chili. My chili cheese fries had chili so idk but I was disappointed since I rarely get to a weinersnitzel. But anyways I won't hold it against them. But I will check my orders from now on. read more

Wienerschnitzel - Chili dog No chili - Hot Dogs Near Me - Sacramento, California

I stopped by Wienerschnitzel and this one definitely has more of that quick, in-and-out Midtown feel compared to other locations. This was more of a grab-and-go kind of stop, and it hit exactly what I needed in the moment. I didn't even have to think about my order. Chili cheese fries, add onions. Always!! There's just something about opening that container and getting that mix of warm chili, melted cheese, and that little bite from the onions. It's messy in the best way and always hits the craving and I love they always include a fork. This location feels very Midtown. The inside dining area is pretty small, nothing like the larger setups you'll find in Elk Grove, so it's not really a sit and hang out kind of place. It's more grab your food and go. The drive-thru was super busy when I went, and the parking lot is on the smaller side, so you might have to circle around the block if there are a lot of cars. That said, even with the line, it moved fast, which I appreciated. Everything came out exactly how I ordered it and quick, which is really all you want from a stop like this. Helpful tip: Add onions to the chili cheese fries, and if you're coming during a busy time, be prepared for a tight parking lot but a fast-moving line. Same go to order, different vibe, and it still delivered. read more

If you've grown up anywhere near Chicago, you will get a craving for a Chicago hot dog every so often and it must be obeyed. I was so excited when I saw that Wienerschnitzel had a Chicago style hot dog. The only other place I know that has one is Chicago Fire. While they closed the Elk Grove location, midtown has the only local restaurant and it's a sit down place. The last time I had been to a Wienerschnitzel was in Colton, CA (SoCal) and it was so exquisitely horrible it's taken me twenty years to go back. So with some trepidation I ordered the hot dog in question requesting an upgrade to premium all-beef hot dog. For $6.99 I was impressed. It had everything needed for a legitimate on point "dragged through the garden" Chicago dog: mustard (never ketchup!), tomatoes, sweet relish, raw chopped onion, dill pickle spear, sport peppers, and a sprinkle of celery salt. The only thing missing was a poppyseed bun, but I'm not complaining. It looked good but it tasted even better. Win. I liked the mild flavor of the hot dog (not garlicky, greasy or excessively smoky). I also ordered a chocolate dipped Tasty freeze cone (such a delicious treat that I had at had in years) for $ 2.99 and an order of fish and chips as it was Friday. The fish and chips were meh (too greasy) but I ate a few fries. I definitely know where I can get my Chicago style hot dog now! And I might need to go back to check out the chili dog. Service was friendly, a big plus. read more

Every once in a while I get a craving for corn dogs and chili dogs, and that's when I go to Wienerschnitzel. This location is on a corner on Broadway. Accessible small little shop with a drive thru and limited parking. I ordered a corn dog, chili cheese dog, French fries and a sprite. The corn dog and chili cheese dog were very good! Crispy, not salty, and hot. My only complaint about these is how small they are. As for the fries, these were just horrible. Bland, not crispy and I couldn't even eat them. Ended up tossing them. Overall, I'll be back, but next time I'll skip on the fries. read more

I've been to this location a few times. Their drive in line can get confusing as there are two different ways to enter. I usually only get ice cream from here. Their corn dogs are good too. The fries are okay. I got a hat here for my friend for Christmas and she loved it! read more

If you're in the mood for corn dogs and chili dogs, wienerschnitzel is the place for you. You can't miss the bright yellow building with red trimming and a big red sign. The drive through is open late, perfect for munchies after dinner. The employees are always helpful and friendly. Tasteee Freeze soft serve has been around forever and Weinerschnitzel keeps the tradition going by offering a variety of sundaes, floats, cones and shakes. Too bad they don't make banana splits anymore as those were my favorite! If you're looking to feed a crowd, you can't go wrong with any of the CROWD PLEASER COMBOS. Tonight I ordered the CROWD PLEASER #5 for $19.99 and comes with 3 chili dogs, 3 corn dogs, and 3 fries. Also couldn't leave without ordering a Tastee Freeze strawberry sundae. So good. I'll be back for more. read more

They have a gentleman who is concerned about customer service, he ask workers to take care of the walk in customer, but they were short of hand because the one was helping the drive thur. So he took it upon his self to take my order, he was very cordial and not just me but any customer he had contacted with. read more

On 5/12/2025 we ordered our food via drive thru. The staff on shift were very friendly, received our order very quickly without any issues. However later after eating, we started experiencing upset stomach and symptoms of food poisoning. First time this ever occurred after getting food from this location but is definitely a health concern since the entire family got sick after eating. read more

Hello supervisors and bosses just wanted to let you guys know I went to this Wienerschnitzel and it was amazing. The clerk or the clerks were very friendly. They greeted me when we walked in will be with you in the second. They took care of the drive-through and then they helped us just like they were supposed to Server. Jose was very friendly very nice. Very happy. I had a beautiful smile to his face and was nice to talk to was explaining to me the deals. It was so good. I decided to get to he gave us napkins and everything just the little things matter. I went somewhere else where I was treated, not not fairly and I didn't like it Supposed to work together and not against each other. It's crazy, but I just wanted to let you guys know let him know. Encourage that his customer service was amazing. I hope you guys appreciate him as much as I did thank you Jose. You're such an angel in disguise ha ha ha ha ha ha read more

Alicia helped us out today and all staff were very helpful and polite. Will definitely be coming back to Wienerschnitzel. All food arrived hot and was very delicious! read more

The cashier was nice, but the chili cheese fries were severely undercooked. It felt like I was eating raw potatoes with chili and cheese on them. The chef needs to be trained asap. This was last night, so I hope management takes note. If someone can't cook something as simple as french fries, they have no reason being in kitchen lol read more

I don't eat hotdogs frequently. Eating only one hotdog or sometimes twice a month out of a pack I buy at the store makes me waste food. So when I am in the mood I just decide to go here. Hits the spot everytime with lemonade and I haven't had any issues with my orders or the employees so far. I do have to complain about pricing for certain items. Even through the app, I never see a good deal just for mustard dogs. Other than that I will be back! read more

If someone asked me to describe this restaurant in one word, I would say mediocre. Everything I tried tasted likes something from the freezer section of the grocery store. The corn dogs have a crispy coating but are kind of small and very ordinary hot dog in the middle. The chili cheese fries have a decent amount of cheese and chili on top but the fries are always pale looking. Not that they aren't crisp but they remind me of frozen fries from the grocery store. The staff is alright and prepared my order quickly. The building is old and small inside. There's just nothing exciting or memorable about this place. read more

I saw a banner outside that they started serving veggie dogs. I then started hearing from people about this. So just to verify it's Plant-basedness, I checked with the internet! I read what was and wasn't vegan at Wienershnitzel on World of Vegan. She says to ask for no butter on the buns. This girl taking my order knows nothing about buttering buns. The veggie dogs are Field Roast brand. There's 3 options-- one had cheese but you can omit that or not have it at all. World of Vegan says the fries are fried in lard. It was a post from early 2021 so not sure if it's still valid but I didn't bother asking since butter was already a confusion. I just stuck with the 2 vegan dog options: BBQ Veggie and Chicago Veggie. I liked them but not at $4.99/each. But if I ever find myself at a Wienershnitzel, it's nice to have options. read more

Wienerschnitzel could be a gem but the products often dont match the prices but today i seen they posted a fairly good deal two chili cheese dogs and a chilli cheese fry for 6 bucks so I order it and the female worker says "no drink?" I told her no and briefly questioned myself if she had attitude come to find out her and the guy making the food are discussing about forcing people to buy drinks when they order the meal all while I can hear them. Fast service great chili cheese dogs and French fries. I really like that they also support our veterans on Veterans Day with a free meal!

All my years on Gods green earth I never thought I'd be saying all this. I was blown away at this. Pull up, place looks stinky and expectations are low. Hop in the d-thru roll down that window and BAM the worker was absolutely vibes. Evenings already made, what's next? The Misses gets the cotton candy dipped cone, fries, and the mustard dog, for myself was the burger and chili dog. First things first gotta take a stab at the cone and holy toledo this was the best executed desert I have ever been apart of. Cotton candy tastes like you're takin a soak in the mixture at the candy factory, ice cream delectable. Mustard dog tasted so much like hot dog I thought I was bein punked, if you're lookin for the textbook "this tastes like hot dog" hot dog look no further. Burger was fine, not their forte and it could've been far worse. Fries were absolutely excellent, they almost tasted like if McDonald's made their fries without the intention of killing you. By this of course I mean nice salting light but tangible crisp and a pillowy center you'd tell your coworkers about. Finally, chili dog. Wow. I'm not saying more to not spoiler this masterpiece, this was my slice of heaven. read more

1/2 STAR RATING!!! Horrible customer service. Food was cold and was given the wrong items. The manager Daniel seemed to be "happy" to help us with this mistake, but instead became a "Karen/Kevin" and was very rude and disrespectful. Will NOT go back! read more

Haven't been to W since I was a kid, but went while in a hurry & ordered a Junkyard. It was pretty delicious. Came back for another and the one thing I noticed is that place needs cleaning - the work area by the drive through. Pretty gross. Then I had to use my bank card & by that I was forced to enter my PiN. Oh my the keypad she put in my face. No effort to wipe it but because of this, I'll start wearing my gloves at any drive through. I probably won't go back to eat until I know that place has been inspected by the state. But I may drive through to see if they are paying attention to these posts & cleaning it up. read more

First off, who doesn't love the Schnitz?? I just moved to west Sacramento and the only one on this side is closed down (sounds like a franchise opp to me), so I found the nearest one; this one. After a short jaunt I found myself pulling into the familiar red and yellow hallowed building of hot dogs. Of course during the pandemic, only the drive through is open. No prob. Except... for the screaming and yelling pissed off homeless guy that was walking the line and finally ended up leaning against the building by the drive thru window. Women and children, take note. After giving my order to the very pleasant barely speaking English woman I pulled up to collect my long awaited "fix" of hot chili dripping off of my mustard and cheese covered dogs, my piping hot fries (which were a complete and welcomed surprise that they were hot), and my enticingly warm kraut dog. Not too cool and not too hot, just right! I took my prize home with me where I proceeded into hotdog bliss! Mmm mmm! It was awesome. Checked all the boxes, and I'll be back, homeless crazies aside! I suggest you hit it. You won't be sorry! read more

The manager Daniel forgot to put my fries in my bad I noticed this when I was already home so I called to tell him but He didn't answer then I noticed he added the wrong cheese to my food and didn't put onions on the items that I requested I became annoyed so I drove back to the restaurant to ask for the rest of my food and for him to remake it because the food was now cold and didn't have any onions on it at all he then told me no he wasn't about to remake any food because he had too many cars in line and told me I needed to take the food as or get a refund so I asked him for him managers name he refused to answer me and just ignored me and told me to have a good night .... Employees do not wear gloves when handling food. This would be more acceptable if they washed their hands between touching the cash register and handling hotdog buns. Another thing to note, the booths aren't cleaned often. The employees seem nice but the business needs to invest in food safety. read more

This is just a Wienerschnitzel, alright? But five stars because it skyrockets above the broader neighborhood's other fast food choices for actual service -- the customer-oriented kind. Not manned by entitled troglodytes who view the customer, or employment in general, as an irritating intrusion. The food's always been satisfactory and properly prepared/presented. A rock to cling to in the tsunami of the present. Last went a few weeks ago. Been on vacation. Goin' again today. read more
