We are NOT satisfied with this lawfirm. First we were given one price and then another price to copyright. Of course we ended paying the higher price.
This lawfirm has sat on our manuscript for 3 weeks. NOTHING still has been done to date. Today we cancelled this law firm's services entirely. We demanded our money be returned. Because of this law firm we have NO protection from the publisher stealing our work.
Once the law firm took our money, we were not allowed to speak to an attorney, not even the one given to us, Mark Warzecha. Our only contact was by e-mail, their paralegal Kim Johnson. It was odd! To try to get better service we asked for attorney Kelly Swartz to take over our case. NOPE! She was not given to us.
After 3 weeks of waiting and no copyright of our manuscript, we called today and demanded to speak with Mr. Widerman only - to please call us before 12/noon today. Never happened. Guess who called? The attorney they appointed to us who has done nothing, Mr. Mark. Warzecha. Why would we want him to call us? All of a sudden he's available. Our copyright has not been done. (We could have done it ourselves but thought using an attorney would be best).
During the phone call with Mr. Wazecha he raising his voice the entire time and screamed at us. To the point where I began raising my voice. He blamed us for everything. Yet he is the person who failed us. NO apology came from him.
Where is owner of the firm, Mr. Widerman? Why didn't he call? He doesn't care that clients are unhappy or feel that they have been screwed over by his firm?
Today when we demanded that all our money be returned by this alwa firm, Mr. Warzecha acted as if he didn't know how to do it. Really? We asked for an e-mail receipt showing that it was done.
For over 25 years I was a court stenographer. Most professional attorneys I have dealt with don't scream at their clients continuously.
Our manuscript has already gone to the publisher. So because of this law firm of Widerman, Malek, we have NO protection whatsoever with a copyright. It should have been done within one week. Ms. Johnson was not able to give us a different attorney nor could she give us a deadline when the copyright would be done. Had this law firm done the copyright immediately it would have gone out prior to the publisher getting it AND prior to all the corona virus stuff going on - buildings closing down, employees out of work, etc.
My sister heard all Mr. Warzecha's screaming. She took the phone from me and told him, All she wants is a credit - all money returned.
