Luckily she was not seriously injured and was discharged from the hospital the same day. The executive director and I discussed this and the system has been tested and modified and her pendant will be checked. The dryer has been replaced once (with a used one from another apartment) and still takes hours to dry a single load. This is very stressful for her. After discussing with the executive director, the setup will be replaced and technicians will be in to check the installation. Maintenance requests are an issue. I am not sure if the requests are being entered correctly or are being lost or if there is an issue with how they are being communicated. The cleaning, dining room and front desk staff are caring and try to help. I am more comfortable after a discussion with the director, time will tell.

She was very apolgetic and she said all of my complaints have been reviewed with the staff and my mom would receive much better care. My mom was telling the staff that they didnt need to help her she could do it herself. She didnt want to inconvience anybody. I was very disappointed in staying there. Some staff are okay, but not all are helpful. For the 3 years I stayed there the safety of the parking areas were always dark. I asked about lighting on numerous occasions and nothing was done. I wish I can say the stay was pleasant but it was not. The 1st year was fine, then it went wrong the last year and a half.

We had to find a nursing home for rehab purposes and we were given some names in our area and we decided here since it was so close to our home. There was a few staff there that were somewhat helpful but there were two nurses (one in particular) that were horrible and made me cry several times when I left there, knowing that he was not in good hands. I wish I knew the names and we did finally mention it to the director but we were afraid that she would treat my dad worse so we didnt push the issue. She was short and walked with a limp and worked nights and the other had glasses and they seemed to work together at times. Both of them made this such a bad experience for us and I tried to avoid them if I could walking in different doors so I didnt have to see them. The one with the limp was horrible, never helped, never made eye contact, did not say hello, and made you feel like you were bothering her if you did ask her something. I was always so nice and I had to bite my tongue from wanting to tell them off. I still think about what an awful person she was and that she should not be in the field of taking care of people so I feel the need to let others know not to come here if there are other choices. There were alot of other things too including the urination smell, the same program that they had on the TV every day for the patients (even they mentioned it) and the lack of help every night which seems to be a universal problem. I had to throw away pants that he was wearing because they wouldnt change him and I could not get the smell out after washing a few times. They didnt seem to care about these people. It was depressing. We have since left and glad that place is behind us but hoping this will help others.

Well they have had thee very BEST life...and when they were no longer able to live alone I needed a place that was comparable to the FIRST CLASS style of living that they were accustomed to...WELL MAPLERIDGE HAS BEEN OUR SAVING GRACE...from the very home Iike atmosphere to the extremely caring staff that have looked out for my parents like they were their own to the most beautiful grounds ever...The food is delicious and menus vary..and by Farrrrr the ACTIVITIES ARE AMAZING...FIELD TRIPS TO RESTAURANTS ...BOAT TRIPS...BARBECUES...I LOVE PLACE...my Dad passed April 23...one of the worst days of my life...MAPLERIDGE has buffered the blow for my mom and I...they have loved on us so much that my mom will remain here and we will continue to thrive...I LOVE U MAPLERIDGE

This facility is rated as #2 in the state of Ohio for good reason. My Mom recently stayed there for…read morealmost a month. It was very clean, posh and beautifully decorated for the season. Almost like a fancy resort! The pros of this facility: Good food, good drink, excellent nursing staff that actually go the extra mile for their patients. Very clean throughout the entire facility. Everything was very accessible for wheelchairs, walkers and loading and unloading by the front door. The receptionists at the front desk were always warm and welcoming. Great physical therapy program, but they are tough on you. But, they have to be! Also no worries about people stealing your possessions in this facility. She's been to other facilities where they will steal anything if it's not bolted down! Cons: The only con was the varying wake up time between 4:30 - 5:30 a.m. in order to be up and ready for breakfast at 7:00 a.m. Even if you need assistance getting ready, the hurry up and wait is pretty ridiculous! It's understandable that the staff have a schedule to go by, but c'mon now! Other than that, my Mom says she was treated like a VIP there! Thanks for taking such great care of my Mom, guys! Highly recommend this facility!
